Liver and onions

Absolutely hate it.

I hate how it looks and smells.
In the last months of my grandmother's life I cooked it for her many times out of love, but I never want to see it or smell it again.

Hate it. When I was a little girl, I used to call it, "that meat with mashed potatos inside it." Apparently, I wasn't impressed with the consistency.

We have a local restaurant that serves it and we go there so DH can have it occasionally without contaminating my kitchen. It was pretty hilarious when he not only ordered liver & onions but requested apple sauce as an appetizer. I asked him if we were celebrating his 80th birthday.

OMG I love it.

Seriously, I do. Especially if the onions are sweet onions. There is a restaurant in the area that makes the most tender liver and onions.

I like fried chicken livers too

I stared at a plate of liver for HOURS as a child. It never did get consumed. My mother used to completely stink up the house on a regular basis with it. I LOVE onions though. Why would you ruin perfectly good onions by pairing them with liver?

I can't understand the desire to eat any sort of organ meat I mean really, do you know what the purpose of a liver or kidney is?? And then you want to eat it??

Organ meats are disgusting. I once read an article in Gourmet magazine (or Bon Appetit, can't remember) about a restaurant that specifically served organ meats. ugh...
