Live @ WDW with a 14 week old infant

Ok. Let's see how far I can get this time. For such a tiny thing, Lillian sure does run our household!

I forgot to mention about BLT that the only time you can view the model rooms at BLT is between 2 and 4pm, M-F. You can see a model at Saratoga Springs at more extended hours, but I wanted to see the inside of the building and the pool area as well as the room. The model is on the ground floor, so I walked out the back sliding door, stepped across some tiny bushes and over to the pool. The pool area is locked, you need a room key to get into the pool area and a key to get back into the building. Apparently, I wasn't supposed to go tromping through the bushes as I got a stern, but friendly talking to by the DVC lady. Ahh well. I saw what I wanted to see, so that was fine with me. Lil was totally unimpressed by BLT and slept through the entire tour.

Since she was sleeping, I walked over the skyway back to the Contemporary and got lunch at the food court there. They have the computer ordering system, where you slide your card in the machine and then pick what you want to eat. I got a salad with black beans, corn and tomatoes with an avocado buttermilk dressing. It was good, but it's very difficult to eat salad without dripping it on the baby when she's sleeping in the Bjorn. heh. I also can't sit down while she's sleeping or she wakes up, so I was the silly looking woman eating a salad over her sleeping baby's head standing up in the food court.

Speaking of which, crying baby. to be continued. ...

Crying baby in bed. Yeay! After eating half of my salad, I decided to switch out my fruit for dessert and grab a Mickey Ice Cream bar. So, chocolate cake for breakfast and ice cream for lunch. Yup, I'm on vacation. I did accidentally drip chocolate on Lillian, but thankfully it was on her upper arm, so she didn't eat any.

I took the monorail back to MK and reluctantly walked past the gates. I really wanted to go in because I knew it would be my last chance to go into MK this trip. I saw the train go by and had a momentary thought of just riding the train around, but I listened to my grown-up voice and kept walking to the bus. This certainly isn't my last trip to WDW and when Lillian is a little older, we'll certainly be spending a lot of time at MK.

I took the bus back to Boardwalk and Lillian and I hung out on the balcony until my brother's family came back. They had a great time at Mk and reported very low crowd levels again. They were thrilled!

My brother offered to take Lillian for a bit so that my nieces and I could go to Epcot for dinner. Just as we were heading out, I noticed lightening and dark storm clouds. That ended our Epcot trip. Instead, Heidi took the younger girl to Epcot and Kylie and I stayed on the Boardwalk. We tried to get pizza from the take out window at Spoodles, but it isn't on the dining plan. Bummer. So, we went to the bakery instead. I grabbed a sandwich and my nice insisted on a chocolate chip muffin and chocolate milk! Not exactly the healthiest dinner for a growing girl. Ahh well, it's not like she eats muffins for dinner every night.

My brother walked the sleeping Lillian up and down the Boardwalk while Kylie and I ate and watched the performers. The storm never materialized, so I missed my chance to go into Epcot. No parks at all on our last day at WDW. :sad2:

Once Lil woke up, my brother handed her back to me and after a little playing time, I got her to bed so I could finish packing. Our fun Disney trip was at an end.

The next morning, we said goodbye to my family and caught ME back to the airport. Always a sad trip back to the airport, but better knowing that we were going to be back in six months.

Lillian did great on the flights back to California and only lost it during the last 30 minutes of the entire trip. Pretty impressive! Now we're home and trying to get settled back into real life. She's having a hard time adjusting to the time change, but hopefully that will happen soon.

I'm going to go through my pictures in the next few days and will post some of them. Thanks for reading along with our adventures! I never thought I'd take a 3 month old to Disney, but it really worked out just fine. I had a dramatically different vacation then usual and it was still fun. I also enjoyed having time with Lillian just to myself. I think she and I got to know each other even better. :goodvibes I can't wait until our next trip when she'll be 10 months old. :woohoo:

So glad you had a good trip. Can't wait to see more pictures. Your daughter is beautiful.

Sound like you had a great trip. We have taken our son once or twice a years since birth and each trip is better than the last.

Sounds like a great trip. I am glad you shared it with us.

I am so glad you decided to go. It sounds like you had a fabulous time. Lillian is just beautiful. Looking forward to hearing about your next trip.

Glad ya all liked the trip report. It was fun to write and now being home, it helps to keep the excitement of Disney going for me. The piles of laundry just seem endless!
Poor Lil had a bit of an accident today. She was on her belly and rolled over to her back for the first time (!) and bonked the back of her head on the wood floor. She's been crabby all day today since that bonk. She probably has a heck of a headache. Thankfully, she went to sleep without too much of a fuss and I get some alone time!

So, some pictures from the trip. I actually took more pictures of Lil with my cell phone than my regular camera. It was just too hard to manage the camera and the baby at the same time! Plus, the majority of the time she and I were out and about, she was in the Bjorn. Just about impossible to take baby pictures when you are wearing the baby! I have to get copies of my brother's pictures to actually get baby pics.

Some pics I took:
