Live @ WDW with a 14 week old infant

I just had to post as I so relate to you. My DD, now 6 had colic. There is nothing more awful than feeling so helpless as your baby cries and there is nothing you can do to help. I did find mylicon drops which greatly helped with the gas. I also switched to Enfamil A/R which has rice starch. This helped to fill her up and keep it down (she had reflux too). Sounds like you have a wonderful Brother and SIL. Definitely let them help you, you will so much happier and rested and your DD will be able to sense that. I have always taken little ones to Disney as well. It sounds like you are great and know that you are pretty much mercy to her timetable. What a great mom! Don't beat yourself up over it. Motherhood is so difficult, but oh so rewarding. Enjoy every minute of it! It goes by so quick (just dropped my DD off for her first day of 1st grade today). Have a magical vacation.

We're all reading from different perspectives - from a grandmotherly perspective, feeling so sorry for you! But being happy that you seem to be successfully working through it and actually having some good times! I remember you were going to go on the cruise, but found yourself (happily) pregnant and look at you now!!! This will definitely be a trip for your baby memory book! Take lots of pictures - can't wait to see them. Hope it gets better every day :wizard:

I am just tickled that you had another good day yesterday.:dance3::yay:

Thanks everyone for the good wishes! We've been having another great day today! :cool1:

Lillian slept until 5:30am, ate and then went back to sleep until around 8:00. Nice! I woke up with a surprising amount of energy for having gone to sleep at 1:30am. Must be that extra special Disney sleep.

My brother and family were still sleeping and I was hungry, so Lil and I wandered over to BC Marketplace for breakfast. The temp wasn't too bad, although I could tell it was going to heat up really quickly. I didn't bother with the stroller, just stuck her in the Bjorn and covered her up with a nursing cover. I got so many strange looks while wearing that thing. It does look pretty weird, but it keeps the sun off of her.

At BC I got another can of the special formula, but skipped breakfast b/c my brother texted me that his girls wanted to go over to BC for breakfast too. Well, when I got back to the room, they were still in their PJ's watching cartoons. Gotta love vacation. :) So, Lil and I went to the Boardwalk Bakery and I picked up some juice, milk and a yogurt thingy. The bakery is sooo crowded in the mornings.

When I got back, the girls were up and my brother took them to the pool. Lil and I hung out in the room, relaxed on the balcony and she had a great nap, which gave me time to finish a book. Love those calm kind of mornings.

Storm coming in. Have to finish this later.

I too read your first thread and I am glad that things are turning out well for you :)
Sounds like you are both recharging and bonding even more :)
take care of both of you

I am glad you decided to go. It sounds like it is working out pretty well!

Enjoy it and take the help when it is offered! Your brother and SIL sound like they are terrific.

This brings back memories from when my son was born. My wife had a rough go of it for the first few months, but it sounds like you are doing OK. My MIL used to tell DW, "Look, with a newborn baby, someone is always crying...and it isn't always the baby." :rotfl: Looking back, it's so true and we laugh about it now.

I am soo soo soo happy this trip is turning into a good one for you with many memories you will remember for a lifetime.

BWahaha! That is Sooo true! Thankfully things have gotten a bit easier since I've finally started accepting help. One thing I've learned is that with an infant, I've got to drop the total independence thing. It just doesn't work.

Ok, storm has passed, so on to the rest of our day.

After a lazy morning, we headed out to Epcot to go to the Germany for lunch. We got into the Biergarten as a walk up w/o a wait! This is just an example of how empty the parks are. There were maybe 5 tables full of people at 1:00pm. Lillian was asleep in the stroller (!!) so they let us bring the stroller into the restaurant and park it at our table. This was great, except they decided to seat another family with us and they griped about having to walk around the stroller. The father of the family got kinda nasty about it and finally just refused to sit at the same table as us! Wow. Well, no biggie for us, we were just fine not sharing our table!

Lillian woke up just after I got my food, of course. However, she was quite happy to just sit on my lap and watch me eat. She's fascinated by eating and is certainly learning by watching. My nieces had a great time and really enjoyed the potato and leek soup. Of course, much beer was consumed by the adults. :woohoo:

Lillian got fussy about half way through the meal, just as the band came on. This was perfect timing as she and I polkaed through the restaurant. My 7 year old niece, Lillian and I, were the only ones on the dance floor and we had a great time.

After lunch, we headed out to the very hot WS. The sun was brutal. We saw the acrobats in China and the only time they smiled, was when they saw Lillian. I don't remember them being that grumpy before. They did like Lil though. She was fascinated by them.

We tried to stay indoors as much as possible, doing the Norway ride and movie and then going to the ride in Mexico. Lillian enjoyed both rides, but I think she has a preference for the Norway one.

My nieces were "burning up" and I was pretty tired too, so we decided to head back to the Boardwalk. They went on an ice cream hunt and I race walked Lillian back to the resort to get her out of the sun and heat as quickly as possible.

My brother and family crashed down for a nap, but of course, Lillian was wide awake, so no nap for me! When it clouded up, little no-nap girl and I went out to the boardwalk and got dinner at the bakery (chicken wrap) and a pastry for breakfast tomorrow.

The wonderful thunderstorm came in around 6:00, which was fantastic. We don't get thunderstorms in the San Francisco Bay Area, so this was a real treat for me.

Currently my brother and family are at MK and he just texted me to tell me that a CM told him that they are the only people on Splash right now. Wow! I got Lillian to bed at a decent hour and am planning on an early bedtime for myself as well.

Tomorrow, we're planning on going to DHS. My 7 year old niece Kira, has been bugging me to take her on Rock-n-Rollercoaster, so I'm going to do my duty as an Aunt and take her on it. :yay:

Now for some cute baby pics:

Glad your trip is going better and thanks for the updates... I will be in your shoes at the end of the month. My wife and I will be bringing our newborn son to the World on September 30th. He will be two months old at the time. We are taking along my wife's parents for extra help. We will also have my two daughters (age 4 & age 6).

I hope your trip continues to be great!

I'm so glad that things are going so well. It sounds like the change in formula has been a huge help and maybe the two of you are figuring each other out. You're a great mom and you will be so happy that you have these memories to look back on.
