DisneyNet sometimes bounces the Camera. I think today is the last day too. :(

Conan, if you get a chance, curious what room that view is from.

Thanks!

We're back home now. They made us leave. Sorry they wouldn't let me keep going. Besides, I do have to go back to work :(

We were in 3013 directly over Big River Grill. If you can get it, it's a great view.

We thought that the balcony was a little spartan, but, otherwise the room was great!

We'll be back up again with the video at Christmas from Hilton Head. I don't know if they have internet in the rooms yet, but, if they do, I'll have the camera going on whatever view I can get. If not, I'll go over to the pool house some and do some video.

Is the chat area still up on the site? If you folks want to do a weekly get together there, that's ok by me. We can discuss that here.

I'll do a trip report at some point and post that too.

Thanks for the support on this experiment. I promise to do it again!
(In March, we'll be at the Wilderness Lodge!)

Conan - A question. How did you run the camera line to your computer? I would guess you would have to leave the door cracked, is that correct? I was thinking I wouldn't mind setting up a webcam myself at VWL in December and also BWV the following September (and possibly OKW next May). But I'm not sure I'm wild about leaving the door cracked with all the lizards and other buggy things that might come into your room. How has others handled this? It sure would be nice now that Internet is free that a lot of people would setup webcams so at any given time you can get a taste of Disney while at home. I know I really enjoyed your webcam last week. I would sit here and just watch the Boardwalk for long periods of time, dreaming I was there.

The camera uses USB and I had 3 USB exstenders. I hooked up a wireless router to the net, so we could move about if we wanted.

There is a slot in the door where the latch goes into the doorframe, I just ran the wire through that slot, closed the door and locked it. When we were in, we usually left the door open.

My sister use to live in Cary, but, I couldn't tell you where.

OT...love your '08 HHI trip pictures!!! Ok, back on OT...I hope to see your webcam of BWV!!!

I've been off the DIS for a few days but I wanted to thank you again for taking the time to run the web cam for us! I loved the view and glad you posted the room number. Thanks again!

You're quite welcome! We weren't sure if we posted the room number while we are there (there ARE nuts in this world), but, now that we are gone...

I am hoping I can do it from Hilton Head. We have a GV and have asked for one of the ones facing Broad River. If not, I'll set up something for posting from the Grill or something.
