Friday: Well this morning I got up pretty early and went to AK. I was one of the first 50 people (I'd assume) at the park. I got to the gates at around 8:30 am. While waiting, the talking palm tree (like the talking trash can in MK) was playing around with guests.
Then around 8:50 they let us go up to the bridge where the tree of life is. At that point they had ropes set up to keep you from going any further. Around 9:55, a truck with Minnie, Goofy and Pluto rolls up and they begin the opening ceremonies (I didnt realize they did this). Then Mickey comes up on a hydrolic lift way up at the Tree of Life and waves to the crowd and now, the park is open.
They walked the ropes all the way to Expedition Everest, to keep people from running. They announced that Everest was not opening right away. NOT TRUE. It was open when we showed up to the ride 5 minutes later (I almost thought they did it to decrease the mayhem at EE).
I immediately went up and got a FP and then got on and rode. I was on the first train of the day. After I rode, there was still no wait, so instead of using my FP, I rode again. I then got to the single rider line and rode again. Even at 11:30 there was only a 20 minute wait (it was 40 minutes at 12:00). In all, I rode Expedition Everest 7 times today! I got A LOT of on-ride photos and some GREAT ones of the Yeti! I'll be posting them soon!
I then rode Dinosaur (no wait), and Primevil Whirl (No wait). I then went to Khali Rapids since it was so hot (I never like rides where you get soaked). However, there was only a 10 minute wait (though the sign said 20 minutes), so I rode twice and got drenched.
Afterwards, I figured I'd start back to the hotel since my wife was getting ready for the day, after sleeping in. On the way out, I got a frozen lemonade at the Rapids FP area. It was the best I've had in a long time! It's not one of the ones that is so sweet it makes you very thirsty. This one hit the spot!
So now Im back at the hotel, waiting out a storm, and then we're heading to EPCOT for the day.
As someone requested, I'll get any Nemo construction photos I can but, I dont think you can see anything. I'll check it out though.
Also I got photos of the Nemo show at AK. The theatre is huge! It's all indoors now (as opposed to an outdoor ampitheatre). It looks, by size of the theatre alone, that it's going to be a pretty big show.
Also by request, I'll be getting some photos of the restaurant in France.
Anyways, off to EPCOT Shortly. See you all tonight!
