Live Trip Report: Vacation no more

That tink picture reminded me that I was in desperate need of a haircut. Luckily, there's a nice little barber shop next to the Emporium. I had a fantastic view if the parade and got a nice haircut while I watched. Why wouldn't you get a haircut at Disney? As soon add the parade crowd clears, it'll be time to roam around.

My attempts to get on some rides has hit a snag. Everything is fairly packed out. I've got some good walking in though formulating a new plan.

When in doubt, there is always the People Mover!

Looking forward to following along. Heading there next week with my oldest son for Disney Social Media Moms and his 16th birthday celebration, since I have been informed that having to celebrate his actual birthday (June 29th) overseas in a foreign country where we will be at the time would be possibly unforgivable? In any event, looking forward to a sneak peak of the current crowd level and oh my gosh that mac and cheese!

I'm envious of the idea of spending a birthday overseas! The crowds don't seem that bad, but all of the rides seem busier than usual. I'm hoping it thins out closer to the evening.

Yay! Some little spawn of Satan just sneezed his bubonic plague all over my arm. It's been nice knowing you all. Hopefully my body can be used to find a cure in the future.

More like Carousel of boredom. The excessive use of "there's a fancy new technology that is commonplace in the future. That will never work *Wink*" was a touch on the sitting side. It was nice and cool in there, so points for AC.

It's hot and I can't find a place to cool off. The magic is being replaced by exhaustion.

A water followed by a raspberry lemon slushy and the feeling of impending sick has passed. Heat exhaustion is a pain in the rear. My room was ready a while ago. I think now is a good time to check it out. On my way to my temporary home.

The problem with having others involved in planning is they might make errors. I'm not at the hotel I had been planning on. I had to go through a friend of a friend to get the booking and there was a break down in communication somewhere. It's a nice enough place and I got it for a good price, but it's a bit of a letdown. Oh well. Is only a place to sleep anyway. Relaxing and recharging for a bit. More updates later.

Quick update.

I feel much better after a shower. I have almost no appetite right now. I think I may need to be a little more diligent in keeping hydrated tomorrow. I think I'm still dealing with a touch of heat exhaustion. I think that puts a period on today. Not a whole lot going on today, and definitely a learning experience on a lot of things, but I'm at Disney! Day one is in the books.

Good morning to you all! I slept in a little bit, but today was planned out to be a late start. I'm thinking a trip to Hollywood Studios is in order today, with a bit of Epcot possibly in the mix. First, though, I'm craving breakfast type foods. Shower first, food second, Disney third.

When I was back in college not too long ago, we had study groups at Perkins. I haven't thought about that place in a while since there isn't one close to me more. There happens to be a Perkins a stone's throw from the hotel. I forgot how much I liked their food.

I didn't realize how close to Disney Springs I am. Seemed like a good way to start the day, post breakfast.

On a previous trip, I killed time while waiting for my reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe by walking around the shops in GF. I have a fondness for the shampoo bars from Lush. They don't seem to irritate my scalp and my hair doesn't feel gross after using it. I found Basin and picked up a soap and two shampoo bars on that trip as a test. Basin shampoo bars are awesome! Naturally I had to stop by the main store in Disney Springs and restock appropriately.

This is the Caramel Quake Shake. There's a chocolate bar blended into the shake! My life is complete.

People watching, because it's fun. I like to think I'm fairly open-minded and not bothered by much, but (here's where I undermine the previous statement) the way some of these girls dress is surprising. The older ones are less shocking than the young girls. Is micro hooker the new trend in pre-teen styles? Are parents OK with that? I don't have kids so I'm possibly out of the loop.

I walked in. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get the haircut, but I've waited that long (or longer) in the past at non Disney places.

So, I'm catching up on updates that didn't get made. I'm cheating a tiny bit. Hollywood Studios isn't a park I tend to spend a lot of time at, but I tried hard this time. I ended up doing a lot of things I normally wouldn't do. Like live shows. A few of them.

Have no fear, the hero is here! I've seen Gaston at MK. He's always a guy in a fake muscle suit. This guy was the real deal. Good on you for looking the part.
