Live Trip Report from AKV (with pics)

One thing I noticed about this picture is that the bath in the value only has one sink (or at least ours does). Not sure if that matters to folks, but I thought I would let you know.
There are a few 1BRs in Jambo House where the bathroom vanity has only one sink. There are also a few where the floor plan shows one sink and people have reported the room actually has two sinks or vice-versa. So thanks for the report. I made sure the Jambo House room database has the correct information for this room.

:thumbsup2 Great report!!! Your making me very excited! DH and I are in the process of making our initial 200 point purchase at AKV!!! We're planning on taking our first trip home in January!! Can't wait to read more!

Great Trip Report and Pictures. You have a very nice looking family that seems to be having a great time. I also love TRs and can’t wait for more.

It reminds me a lot of VWL, with animals! I have to admit, I LOVE animals, but it just didn't seem that big of a deal. Well...it's really cool. Today, we saw a giraffe, two ostriches, a kudu and an impala! For those of you contemplating on whether the points are worth it or not for a savanna view, it is!

My DD agrees with you on a Savanna view. Our last trip there, whenever we would go to the room she ran out to the balcony and see who was out wandering around. She must have taken a bazillion pictures of the giraffes alone. Your pictures have me drooling for making our first reservation to the Villas. That and Bay Lake Towers are next on the list.

We were entering the line to ride Mission Space, and one of the CMs asked if we'd like to participate. We had no clue what that meant, but hey...why not, right? Well, it was wonderful. She took us back on a tour of how they monitor Mission Space, and took us to the front of the line! We even by-passed the fast pass lines!

A behind the scene tour? I am SO Jealous. Space is our favorite ride in all of WDW and would give anything to do that. I wouldn’t sell my daughter, the dog maybe, the cat definitely. Very cool!

Hope you and everyone out there are having a happy Easter. Have fun on the rest of the trip.

Thanks... for letting us live through you!!! I love live trip reports. I hope you have a VERY Happy Easter... TFS..

I love the live reports as well! Thanks for sharing your vacation! I love the room decor at AK. I will definitely have to put it on my must visit list!

Does Kidani look like it will be ready for next month?

Joining in on the fun! Thanks for taking time from your vacation to share with those of us waiting at home for our next trip.:cool1::cool1:

We hope to snag a 1 bdrm at Kidani for Thanksgiving and part of the week after. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Your report really makes me want to stay there.

Happy Easter! Hope you enjoyed your day today. Thanks for taking the time to post this report. It sounds like you are having a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

Have Fun!!

No idea what your talking about -- picture in the shark's mouth?

Doesn't Everyone...
...have this picture? I had to post of DH, DD and DS, because like I said, I think every one of us has a photo of someone in this shark's mouth!

We really had no intentions of going to a park today. But, we decided to go to AK. I can't believe our luck! We walked on almost everything.

Kilimanjaro Safari
We got to AK around 1:30, and went right back to the Kilimanjaro Safari to get fast passes. Well, when we got there, the wait was only 20 minutes, so we didn't even bother with fast passes! :woohoo: There was no way we waited 15 minutes. When we got in line, we never stopped. We kept walking, and walked right on the ride! We usually wait much longer than this in the summer months.

Pizza!!!
After we hit KS, everyone decided it was time for lunch. Since Festival of the Lion King started at 2:30, we ate at the Pizzafari (which is right beside Camp Minnie-Mickey). All of us got pizza, and it was quite tasty. I tend to like thick crust on a pizza, so it definitely hit the spot! :thumbsup2

Ahhhhh...Festival of the Lion King
For those of you who have watched the Lion King movie too many times to count, this competes as my #1 all time favorite at WDW. It stole my heart the first time I saw it, and I will make a trip to AK almost every visit to see it. If you enjoy the Lion King, and have never seen it, please make an effort to go your next visit. The performers are amazing, and it moves me every time I see it.

As for the show itself, excellent as always. For the first time, DS got to go up and show our section how to be a lion, and DD got to go up at the end and help finish the show! It was so cute, given they are 6 1/2 years apart. It will definitely be a Disney trip that will stick with them in years to come! :cloud9:

It's Tough To Be A Bug & Everest
After Festival of the Lion King, we went to It's Tough To Be a Bug and on to Everest. Again...unbelievable. We walked right into It's Tough To Be A Bug. No wait.

Thinking Everest would be the 90 minute wait, we got there, and the sign said 20 minutes! Again, we didn't even wait that long. Since I had never ridden it before, I was looking at all the fun artifacts along the way. Overall, it's a pretty fun ride. For those of you around the Cinci area, it still doesn't compare to the Beast at King's Island, though!!! ;)

Dinner
DH was just not in the mood for Turf Club (bummer!), so we decided to try the food court at Port Orleans. We have never been there before, so I snapped a few pics. I thought the place was very pretty. Food wasn't bad...typical food court stuff, so I'm ready for a decent meal. I'm kind of tired of the fast service stuff. Boma is coming up soon, and I hope it's good. I got a mixed review from a couple on the elevator, so I'm a little scared of it now. For $30+ per person, I hope we enjoy it! :confused3

On Deck...
Lunch with the princesses tomorrow in Cinderella's Castle! We have never done character dining before, so I think it will be a lot of fun. I think DH is pooped out from our last few days, so we may eat and come back to the pool. I think he wants a day off! :lmao: The weather is supposed to turn a little cooler and there's a greater chance of rain, so tomorrow may be a good day to hang out at the pool.

Happy Easter, everyone!!! :grouphug: For those wondering, the buses are still running strong. We've had no more than a 5 mintue wait at AKL, or to get back to AKL. We did have about a 20 minute wait today at AK (the park) to go to Port Orleans.

Is that giraffe sitting? It sort of looks like you caught her scooting around on her rear. :rotfl:

Great pics, sounds like you had a wonderful day :thumbsup2

Great update! Gald you were able to get on The Yeti!!!

Just found your report and am loving it!
Hope you had a Happy Easter and that Easter Bunny was good to DD!

Kathy
