Live Trip Report! 7 days in Disney World!

Loving your mac and ears! :lmao:

I must say, I would carry on too if I could, even if I'm soaking, I just figure the queues will be shorter. Having said that, if I had my girls with me, they wouldn't want to stay out I'm sure!! :rolleyes2

Can I ask a favour, I know you are on a whistle stop trip, but if you happen to be in any shops where they sell princess dresses/girls dresses up dresses onsite, could you see if they go up to big sizes please? I'm thinking 14/16 years which I think they call XL. My oldest DD will be 10 when we go next year and will still want the odd dress up - you can't get them that big over here unfortunately. I have been told (on another thread) to wait and get over there, which I am happy to do, but I'd hate to get there and they not have any! :crazy2: Don't worry if you don't get a chance though - just if you are in the vicinity.

Im in downtown disney just now so I will have a look for you no problem :)

Just in bongos Cuban cafe having a sangria (or a jug!) before we shop! I make better decisions after alcohol! Hahaha!!

Today is literally freezing here, 12-13c is the hottest it's been! We bought santa Mickey hats to keep our heads warm as we forgot our hats!

Had a great day at animal kingdom despite the cold, park was really quiet, maximum wait time was 20 mins on EE! Everything else literally a walk on or 5 min Q!

Made it to Downtown Disney completely forgot about the construction! It's actually not that bad here crowd wise but I assume because of the cold a lot of people have stayed in!

disney must have made a mint on this weather...people buying hats, scarves, gloves, sweatshirts etc..
DD bought a warm hat - she bought a beaker model...i can see from the pictures they've been sending today how crazy cold everyone is....nuts nuts nuts...but it should start warming up there tomorrow...not warm, but not as cold...

you were at AK today? DD and her husband were there today too! based on how much she did, it makes sense that the park was empty...i guess people didn't want to be outside so much in the cold weather...

Oh my goodness! They will have made a fortune today in hoodies, hats and scarves! Everyone had some form of disney hat on! Just like yesterday they will have made a mint on poncho's and umbrellas!

I will be re-using this hat at Christmas!

adorable hat!!!

DD and her husband are wearing matching blue jackets (i think with black trim)...
and she has on the beaker hat (beaker from muppetvision 3D)...
she's tall, thin with very long blonde hair and glasses..
he's shorter than she is...she's about 5'9" tall and he's about 5'7" (or maybe 5'6") and he has dark hair in a sort of buzz cut...and a five oclock shadow sort of beard...
i know he danced with the african guys yesterday and she danced with the characters in that dance party in dinoland...
i think they're going back to DHS today to try to do some of the things they missed because of the rain and attractions being down...
at DHS she'll probably jam with mulch if they have shows...she's a singer and they know her so usually they have her come up to jam with them....though maybe not, as she's got a cold and cough now, so she might be trying to save her voice as i think she has a show right when she gets back home

i looked at the weather...it's only going up to 18 celsius today...still pretty cold, though not as bad as yesterday!!!

Lovin the Mickey Santa Hat! I want one!

Can not imagine being in WDW and needing layers. Latest we have been has been October. Not sure if Christmas Decorations could make up for lack of sunshine!

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you for taking the time to write a Live trip report :worship:

Yay for Santa hats - a wise investment I think as you can wear again :thumbsup2! Sorry to hear the weather isn't great - on the upside, as you say, it means much less crowds and it really isn't any colder than back home ;).

That jug of Sangria looks yummy - I am enjoying your TR, instead of mostly food, it's booze :rotfl2:

Thank you for saying you'll have a look for XL dresses - honestly, don't worry if you don't get time or anything. I am sure we'll manage to get some next year, but I'd feel terrible if there isn't much choice and we waited to get them there.

You seem to have been away for ages considering it's only a week holiday!? Perhaps it is because you seem to be cramming so much in :thumbsup2.

I have Goofy Santa hat, Matt has Stitch. Worth every penny the year we bought them, had to de-ice the car every morning. Coldest we have ever seen in Florida, Xmas of 2000.

Wow I just saw that it went below freezing last night in Orlando
Totally insane
In fact it dropped below freezing in all 50 states - including Hawaii!!!!!

Yep it's been cold! Today is not nearly as bad but in still layered up and have my hat on but the sun is out today which is nice!

We're just on the monorail heading to MK from epcot to go for our crystal palace lunch! Our last TS meal and we still have 10 QS credits to use! Crazy! I have no idea how people eat all the dining plan food on QS, but I much prefer the slower change of pace to the TS plan we had last year. It's much nicer to just run round the parks and then decide to get something when I am hungry rather then the rigidness of ADR's everyday. But I suppose that comes with the territory of the 180 day booking.

Wayneg - hats are definitely worth it I'll be wearing mine every year now! Not sure my ears are really getting their value with the cold though! Ha!

DLP - the XL dresses are in stock in most princess sixes, they say 14/16 on the label as you can see and the lady said she would recommend them for 14-16 year olds but depending on height/weight but I Personally think they are more suited for age 14 then 16 due to the length of them, they don't look long enough for a tall ish girl to wear and for them too look ok against body/skirt length :) I will try and get some pics for you!

The tallest girl I've seen in the dresses was probably no more then 4ft10 ish but I'm not that great on guessing heights!

Planning the rest of the day in MK as this is our last full day!

Loving your report, hope you enjoy CP today :) We have experienced the colder days in a Florida, normally the sky was so blue you couldn't believe it was so cold when looking at the photos later.

Sky is lovely and blue today! It's a few degrees warmer so it's a bit more pleasant at least!

Glad it's warming up, it soon changes :goodvibes

the high today in orlando is 18 celsius, so not exactly 'warm'

but not as bad as the high of 14 yesterday!! and the low below freezing!! :scared1: :scared1:

DD went to downtown disney for lunch at earl's and shopping (they took the boat from their resort)..
she's at DHS now....i saw her FPs online right now (as i was tweaking her ADRs) - she wasn't originally scheduled for DHS today but because she left early the other day when it was storming she switched out today.
Her FPs in the afternoon/evening were for muppets/little mermaid/beauty and the beast
i'm laughing...they just sent a video of her with the street actors in DHS...funny..
so yes, they're in DHS today...still bundled up....but as you said, it looks to be a really pretty day!!

That was our first trip to Florida/Disney! :goodvibes The first week we were there we arrived and the temperature was about 85 (i'm old school!);) Steadily climbed all week till it was in the 90's, then suddenly overnight the temperature dropped, and we got up to ice on the car! Stayed cold for the rest of our stay, but didn't put us off going back!!:lmao:

I'd still rather be cold in Florida than at home :lmao:. If the sun is shining it always feels better. Hope you have a good day :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for looking at the dresses - that makes me feel so much better/less worried about leaving it until we get there. She will be 10 but is in 11-12 UK clothes now - she's only just gone into that size, so I think she'll still be in it next summer. She is 4 ft 8 so quite tall. I am sure we'll get sorted out and it seems there is a good selection to choose from too :thumbsup2

Loving your photo - that blue sky is beautiful (as well as the castle of course, but have to say my heart belongs to DLRP's Sleeping Beauty castle - it is stunning). ;)

Hey Azza

Just wondering how you are and how the end of your trip was? Hope all is OK :thumbsup2
