Arrived yesterday at 2:30, Room was ready. Requested a location close to the pool and could not be closer unless we were in the pool. Temps were high 50's yesterday although with no wind and coming from the 20's of northern ohio it was a welcome relief. Hot tub is hot and the daredevil kids actually jumped in the pool. Sitting on my deck, heard a CM comment that the pool temp is 82, I really doubt it is that warm.

Supposed to be high 60's today with plenty of sun. Kids are signed up for messy science and capture the flag as well as movie night. Twilight for the teens, my daughter couldn't be more excited and Bolt for the younger kids.

As advertised it is very relaxing here

Room is in perfect condition, no complaints whatsoever.

Is it crowded? Could you please post some of the activities available over the Thanksgiving weekend? We are thinking about coming next year at this time.

We're at HHI too. It doesn't feel crowded, but it's getting increasingly difficult to find a parking place. On Thanksgiving day, there's a football game on the beach and an evening campfire. We've been coming for3 years, and as marynvince said,it's a wonderfully relaxing place to stay.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving get-aways! It sounds like a wonderful place to be!

It doesn't feel crowded, but I when we checked in the CM at the front desk said they were booked full.

I have posted the activities in a previous post and as they are quite extensive, I won't be typing thta again.

While it's only in the mid 50's we just left the hot tub and I'm sitting on our deck in shorts and a polo shirt and am comfortable.

Went to the beach house/ocean today, what a difference compared to June. Beach was relatively empty with the occasional bikers (pedal power).

The beach pool was noticeably warmer then the resort pool and upon asking a cast member why, they mentioned that the heat had been turned up at the resort pool and it should be warmer tomorrow.

weather forecast is sunny for remainder of week. Kids are having fun and wife is relaxed. SHe even mentioned looking at some open houses to consider for retirement, which is a ways away. Maybe then I'll get to golf here.

Twice in 6 months, it really does feel like home.

We'll be there on Friday!

I can't wait!!!

Save some cider for us!!
By Friday you should be OK since we leave that day. Otherwise, it would be questionable as to whether or not I'd leave any cider. Part of my daily routine is to go down to Big Murgie's Den and have warm cider and cookies (preferrably cranberry nut) while reading the Island Packet. And this week, there's been a fire in the fireplace every day. So cozy!

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Today was chalk full of activities. Started with the Golden Turkey Duck Hunt While we didn't find the Golden turkey, there were 6 silver turkeys and my son found one of those and was way excited.

The next activity was the mental world of B'lou. Some very good examples of "mind reading". B'Lou Crabbe does a great job with all of the activities he is involved with. We attended his magic show yesterday and it was as entertaining as when we first saw in June.
He also ran the Pirates of the Calibogue treasure hunt and it was very entertaining.

Then on to the Turkey Bowl, flag football, tons of fun on the beach. The Cast Members 4 did a great job managing 60+ guests.

Here is an example of how Disney and the Cast Members go the extra mile.
We had signed up late Monday for the tuesday morning camp fire cornbread making. Thinking it was at 9:00 we got there about 10 minutes early. Well it didn't start until 9:30 and we got a call at our room at 9:10 that it was booked. Right before the start we found out that we were not on the list. My wife was a bit agitated because when she called the front desk Monday night they indicated we were on the list and good to go. Anyway I got a call later in the day from Rich that they were sorry for the mix up and that they would have a campfire cornbread making wednesday moring just for our family. It was great and really sold my wife on the magic of Disney and wanting to make HHI a Thanksgiving tradition.

Weather keeps promising 60s but all we ever get is high 50's, but it's been sunny and everyone has had a great time.

Lastly we had the Turkey dinner delivered today and while it was good, we just are not a big eating family, lots of leftovers, although I must say it was nice not having to cook.

If there is anyone on the fence about coming here, it's been wonderful and still does not feel crowded.

It all sounds great! Thanks so much for filling in on all the Thanksgiving day activities on the beach- one day I hope to be there for Thanksgiving with my family.

Please say hi to Dottie in the mercantile!

Ellen

We got the deep fried turkey. They were cooking them all morning basically right outside our room. It was like being at home smelling the turkey all day long.

I did say Hi to Dottie, she is very nice and her son Harry was here working these last 2 days. He was the referee at our turkey bowl game and even managed to help the gravy team come back and beat our turkey team. Two of our boys did the kids challenge last night and Harry was in charge of that as well. He has a great personality, as do all the CMs.

We're thinking about adding points here so that we can come at least once a year.

Thank you so much for the live trippie.

We were supposed to be in Macon tonight and on to HHI tomorrow. Instead, I am sitting in the Fairfield in Birmingham, and will have to be back at the hospital for my Dad's Heart Cath at 6am. He is getting his 2nd aortic valve on Monday. We are not being charged for our cash nights, and will call about our point nights tomorrow.

Such is life.

Please drink a cup of cider for Mr. & Mrs. Mickey's Apprentice, and have fun!
