Live TR of B2B SF long weekend & BSM (DL 60th)

Dinner was at the Waterbar under The Bay Bridge. Amazing views and neat place to eat. Today we venture to Treasure Island, the Muir Woods, and Lucasfilm (my inner-geek in screaming like a little girl right now).

Now that I have time to pull more pics off of my cameras, here are few from yesterday...

I'm very interested to hear about Lucasfilm. I got to stroll over there this Spring, but only saw the Yoda statue and little bit of the lobby - still very cool. It's so pretty over in the Presidio and by the museum. I'm sure it will be a lovely day for everyone.

Busy day today! Trolley Car tour of San Francisco, Golden Gate bridge, good food, and getting ready for dinner this evening near the Bay Bridge.

Our Guides, Summer Rose and Hanneke...

I am paying very close attention to your trip report!! :) I would love to do this Adventure!

If you haven't already discovered, Summer-Rose is a great guide!!!! She was one of our guides on a Backstage Magic trip last October! She is awesome!

Thank you for all the pictures and the day by day posts ...I will be there in Aug:)

Ok, playing catch-up while on the airplane...

Sunday was Angel Island, Muir Woods, and Lucasfilm. We had breakfast, on our own, at the coffee shop on the lowest level of the Fairmont then headed up to meet the group and hop in the bus. We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and to the Marina where the ferry to Angel Island is located. The guides gather us up and we proceeded to the ferry. There were lots of other folks on the ferry, but the ride over provided great views of the bay, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The weather was wonderful! Blue Skies and mid 60's. This Texas boy was loving it! We arrived at the island and met our park guide, Robert. He took us on a quick tour of the island by tram. There are some great picture spots on the island if you want a sweeping panoramic view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. A quick picnic lunch on the island follows, then back to the ferry. We did some shopping in Tiburon and Hanneke (Adventure Guide) took DS (Ian) for candy and Ice Cream at the local candy store.

We loaded up the bus shortly after finishing shopping and headed to the Muir Woods. Let me tell you, the ride up there was no fun for me. I cannot do tight winding roads without hurricane force winds blowing in my face. We walked around the woods, did some shopping, and then back on the bus.

We headed back to San Francisco and made our way to the Presidio and the Lucasfilm! We had a tour of the outside park and grounds, bathroom break, and a cup of coffee from the onsite Starbucks and then over into Lucasfilm!! OMG! It was amazing! The ***********, the ******, and the *************** it blew my mind. After we met H*******, we were granted access to the ******** for a viewing of several ****** reels. The whole thing left me feeling like. 12 year old again. After a few parting pictures, we headed to the bus to find a gift from ABD on the bus. Someone in Glendale/Burbank must love us! We headed back to the Fairmont for some R&R and OYOT for dinner. Ian and I opted for Pizza Delivery and Battlebots on TV. We were pooped!

Sounds like Lucasfilms was a hit!! This is probably what I'm most excited about when we get to go! DH and I are huge Star Wars fans and when we were in San Fran in 2010 this was the one of the things I really wanted to see (the other was Alcatraz, which, luckily, I did make it to). I guess I am happy now that we didn't make it there then since we would have only seen the Yoda statue and then I wouldn't have so easily talked DH into going on this trip :-) Hope the rest of the trip is as amazing as it started. I really do think that I may have to look into BSM at some point in time. I've never given it too much thought, but everyone keeps saying how awesome it is and I've had friends who have gone to the Disney Institute and gotten the opportunity to speak with the imagineers so I'm sure that is one of the highlights of BSM (unless, of course, I can get my boss to buy off on me going to the Disney Institute)!!

Did you go to the Winery and the Disney Museum ??

Really playing catch-up now! It has been a crazy week since I got to post last. So, back to where I left off...

On Monday we went to what was one of the great unexpected experiences of the trip! The Silverado Vineyards was a fantastic excursion into the Napa Valley and everyone had an amazing time. There was a great tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, and for those that chose not to do the tasting, a creative crafting event with wine corks and olive oil. I will tell you everyone, no matter which event they chose to do, had a fantastic time. When the wine was done, we headed to the Walt Disney Family Museum. The museum is a must for any Disney fan. We had a guided tour that lasted approximately 30 minutes. We could then go back in and look at the exhibits in more detail. The "model" of Disneyland was amazing and has DS entranced. We headed straight to Dinner and then back to dinner to pack for our early travel day on Tuesday.

What's the story behind the big key and keyhole?

That model is awesome. I was told it cost $1 Million to build and was built by Kerner Optical - Same group that made models for ILM including the Death Star. Amazing!

This may be a silly question, but when you do something like this with a combined itinerary, how do you coordinate the transportation between the first tour and the second one?

Because we booked this as one Adventure, ABD helped us book a group flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It ran like clockwork.

There was an additional charge for the internal flight. I believe it was $130.00 it per person.

If you were to book back to back Adventures (any two) on your own, you would be responsible for your own airfare,.
