OK, I know that strictly speaking my holiday hasn't started yet but I love the build up to actually getting there!
Today has been spent checking, packing, re-checking, re-packing, re-re checking.... well, you get the idea!
I worked this evening (Monday) from 6-10 pm and was amazed at how quickly the time went - I thought it would drag!
I had a lovely visit from Tony (Tony64) who came to wish me a happy holiday. It took me a few seconds to recognise him - I think it was because he wasn't wearing that shirt (anyone at the Tony Romas lunch in June will know what I mean!). Thanks for stopping by Tony, it was great to see you and I hope you enjoyed your Krispy Kremes (and I promise I won't tell
).
It's currently 1 am on the day of departure and I've decided to not bother going to bed. I've got some stuff still to tidy away and I wouldn't sleep anyway. DH is getting some sleep as he's driving us to Gatwick in a few hours!
The only snag for today was that we couldn't do OLCI (Virgin). We phoned them and they couldn't tell us why so we just have to leave earlier than planned and check in the old fashioned way. I am so looking forward to shutting the front door and leaving all of our bad luck behind for a few weeks.
Oh, and I can't find my sunglasses.....
Next update will probably be at 40,000 ft over the Atlantic (when I've woken up!)
