Live Report VWL - 10/03 to 10/10 (with pictures)

We're here, yea!!!! Well almost here. We arrived yesterday and spent last night at a Hampton Inn (Lake BV South - very nice, but a little bit far away from things). We check into VWL this morning. After we got here yesterday, we went over to DTD. The place was packed and we had a hard time finding a parking place. I hope this isn't an omen of the crowds for this week.

Walked around DTD and shared a fish and chips at Ragland (rather disappointing). We then rode over to Celebration and walked around there after getting an ice cream at Kilwins (sugar free Apple Pie - yum). I love Celebration and would move there tomorrow if I could.

Well we're up this morning and will head over to VWL shortly. Plan is to checkin and then head to MK.

I plan on doing something a little different this report. I'm going to try to include some pictures like DVCMike does. If I can figure out how to do it

Looking forward to the pictures. We tried to book VWL for our trip this year, but could not get the full week at the 7 month window. Wilderness Lodge was one of the big reasons we joined DVC, we just loved the hotel. Unfortunately we have not been back since '03.

Sorry to hear about Raglan - I love the Fish and Chips, and usually get them in EPCOT at the Yorkshire Fish Shoppe, but this year with the F&W I figured I would get my fix at Raglan in DTD. Might have to rethink that one!

Personally, I hate the fish and chips at Epcot and love the ones at Cookes of Dublin.

Sunday Afternoon Update -

We're back from Epcot. Before I go any further let me clear up what I said about the fish and chips and Cookes. Maybe I just wasn't in a fish and chips mood. Looking back on it now, they were fine and definitely better than the ones in Epcot. I guess the problem was, it was crowded we had a hard time finding a table plus I had to go around to the bar to get my beer. No big deal, it I was just kind of disappointed. I wish we had eaten in Celebration instead.

Now for today (so far). Checked in with no problems. Room wasn't ready, but wasn't expecting it to be. I did tell CM we didn't want to be at the end of the long hallway and she said we were fine. Then rode bus over to MK. Crowds were small IMO. Rode Peter Pan, Snow White and Haunted Mansion basically with no wait. Also did Hall of Presidents.

After that, took Monorail to Epcot. This is our first time for F&W and we love it so far. Got one of the gift cards so that we could tell easily how much we're spending at the kiosks. We then proceeded to walk around World Showcase and hit a few of the kiosks. Had Lamb Sliders, Chicken Chipotle Sausage, Lobster and Shrimp Fisherman Pie and Sushi. It was all delicious. We will be spending a lot of time over the next week just grazing and trying different things .

Finally got the text message that our room was ready, so took bus back to VWL. Unloaded the car and took all our stuff up to room and moved in. Then sat back and watched the Panthers loose their ballgame (no surprise there). Will head back out shortly to Epcot to continue grazing around the world .

One thing - we plan on going to MNSSHP Thursday night. I have not bought our tickets yet and planned to buy them here. I found out though to get the tickets with DVC discount you have to buy them thru MS. Bummer. I called MS and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Finally got mad and hung up. I guess I'll try later. I hate spending my vacation time though on hold with MS. So from now on we will buy our tickets for things like this before we leave home.

Okay, it looks like the pictures posted okay. The only thing, it looks like the pictures sizes are a little large. Do they seem large to you all? I used Photobucket, any suggestions on making them smaller so they display better? I took this pictures with my iPhone4 and am very pleased with the quality. I plan to upload to videos to YouTube tonight. Better go, we're heading back to Epcot. Want to try the Lobster Roll and the Mussels. Later.

Thank you for the report and all the pics. I am living vicariously through your report and getting my fix until we arrive at VWL on 11/23. We have never been to MNSSHP but considering switching around our plans to go next year.
