Live Report from Barb & Tony's Wonder Three-Peat

First, thanks Barb for sharing with us. I can almost feel the ship gently swaying right now!

Have you noted any changes in the food?:p

well it's saturday....so it must be CC....
it's 9 PM my time so that would be 2 PM Wonderful CC time....
i guess you and Tony must be lazing away at serenity bay....
mmmmmmmm...(and i sure hope your perfect record is holding)

as for all those spa treatments....it would seem that the two of you are going to have to rob a bank to cover your 3-peat spa bill ....and i daresay, you'll be sooooo relaxed after all those treatments you might just float right off the ship at the end of your cruise...

oh...and speaking of spa treatments...good thing you corrected my runaway imagination about the 4 person surial bath....i was definitely having some very undisneylike thoughts...

oh...that reminds me...(i don't know why THAT reminded me of this....but anyway)....
did you have a chance to go to the 50's dance this time?...

I hope you win the auction for the picture. Then, I can have a copy of it for my background once you post it on your site. That's one of my favorites, too, with the people doing different things all over the ship.

Good Luck!
Tina :)

50's party is tonight, and we are definitely planning to attend. There will also be an 80's party next cruise (same thing as on the Magic). That will be a new one for us, so I'll be sure to make a full report. Menus are the same, but who knows for how long?!
We managed to keep up our record on Castaway Cay, and we had a new life experience...riding the Segways! They are great! I didn't think I'd like it, but they are so much fun. It's $15 for 10 minutes...you rent them at the gangway on Castaway Cay, and there is an area set up where you can ride them around. It takes a little bit to get the knack, but one you do, they are amazingly responsive. Definitely give them a try if you get the chance.
Other than that, we just hung out on the adult beach and then headed to Cookies for lunch and Castaway Jo's to get some digital photos. Just saw the Disney Dreams matinee, so now we're showering & then off to the Castaway Club party. I'll check in later tonight if I get a chance (some relaxation in the Rainforest is definitely on the agenda).

my son is going to be totally jealous when he hears about the segways on CC...(me too for that matter)....

by the way, it makes sense what you said about 9/11...
when we were at WDW this summer we were told that one of the people convicted of the 1993 world trade center bombing had worked for several years at WDW and was quite familiar with the operations (including the tunnels etc).....it makes sense that his knowledge was shared with his "friends"......no question disney is a target so it's good to know they're constantly reviewing and improving....

Hey Barb...
How excited am I? I will be enjoying my three day Wonder
with an "experienced audience" Woo hoo!

Quick question, what is the charge for the unlimited access to internet? My DH may have to check in at work and don't want to suffer "sticker shock"

Thanks!
Kathy

Do you know if the segways are permanent at CC? We will be going on the Sept 28th cruise, hope they are still there!!

The Segway is that device called "IT" that had all the publicity a few months ago that it was going be the next great personal transport. Search "Seqway people mover" on Google. We can't post photos here on the ship, but we will when we get back. It was a blast.

The unlimited internet is $39.99 for the three day cruise. The sad thing is I just asked what the 4 day was, and for the next 2 cruises the unlimited package will not be available, since they are redoing the area and only a few computers will be available. In order to use the internet it will be 75 cents per minute only. They just completed the same process on the Magic.

Just thought I'd post this because I know a lot of people may be curious about the Segway. You can see photos and get more info <B><a href="http://www.segway.com" target="index">HERE</A></B>.

taswira...thanks for the link....interesting reading (even though i already knew about them from epcot).....i have to say they're fun in a place like CC, but i sure would hate to get hit by one while walking down our neighborhood street (i read the frequently asked questions section........they sound dangerous in the wrong hands)...for that matter i'd hate to see them in the hands of the people who ran down my mom with a wheelchair in WDW...(knocked her right over....fortunately only resulting in cuts and bruises...nothing broken....but most annoying was they didn't even apologize...and they didn't need the chair...no one was in it at the time...they were running to the next attraction, then one of them jumped into the chair to cut in line....lovely people)...

so....Barb, are they going to bring back the unlimited access once they complete the remodeling?

how was the 50"s dance?...it's not like the 70's, but we really enjoyed it (plus i like 50's/60's music much better than 70's)

Barb,

Did you have to leave the ship in Port Canaveral with your bags or were you allowed to stay on-board? Do you have the same stateroom? How about our favorite picture they were auctioning off? Did you win?

Eat a lava cake for me.
Tina :)

I, too, saw the demo at EPCOT. My first thought when Barb mentioned them, before I read on, was "<I>Oh, no! It won't even be safe to walk around Castaway Cay!</I>" I was picturing hordes of guests recklessly zipping around the island on their Segways, out of control. I am so glad Barb specified that they are only in a certain area where guests can rent them briefly to try them out. We anxiously await your pics, Barb! :smooth:

Tony here, we are not going to post as much for the rest of the cruises since the internet cafe is now limited to 4 computers, and there are no unlimited packages until the contruction is complete, then it will be business as usual. The Magic should have the unlimited again since the construction is complete on that ship.
The 24 hour coffee bar is also under construction.

<<Did you have to leave the ship in Port Canaveral with your bags or were you allowed to stay on-board? Do you have the same stateroom? We were allowed to stay on board, but that is subject to change by US Customs as to when you cruise. We booked the same stateroom for all 3 cruises. Took lots of pictures. about 30 of the Walt suite alone, and of course the obstructed cat 7's.

<< How about our favorite picture they were auctioning off? Did you win?
would you beleive we waited to the last minute and forgot to bid. But they are auctioning another on this cruise.
