Live from WDW!

It's been a busy night, we've gone on a ton of rides, ate ice cream, dole whips, popcorn and drank a ton of water! We saw the new Memories show and it's fantastic, not at all like we feared! It's 2am and we're headed to the Ticket and Transportation Hub to get our car. Just waiting for the ferry. :goodvibes

We just got on the ferry and it's playing the song "under the sea". :scared1: Not the song you want to hear when you're on a boat!

I always keep my sense of humor! Even being tired doesn't usually effect it. :goodvibes

We slept in quite late today, we're off to AK for our reservations at Tusker House!

As per usual, we went on the safari first thing. We got to see a giraffe lie down right beside us, which apparently is a rare sight. :). Now we're at the Tusker House and DW is up getting her food. Going to be a really short day at the park today, as we're off to either Cocoa Beach or Treasure Island after this. :goodvibes

Have fun! Thanks for sharing your trip!

No problem, wish I had done one of these sooner!

So we decided on Cocoa Beach, after having gotten several varying opinions on what beaches were good. All of these opinions coming from people who didn't look like they'd spent a single day of their life on a beach of course. :lmao: We went to Clearwater Beach on the Gulf shore a few summers ago, so we decided we'd do the Atlantic side this time. The drive to Cocoa Beach is nice but it sure looks a bit run-down as you get closer to the ocean. We paid our $10 for parking and headed onto the beach. I'd say the crowds were pretty low for what we were expecting, so that was good. The waves were a good 6 feet high too. Nothing spectacular, but a lot of fun none-the-less. I ended up accidentally dropping my favorite pair of sunglasses into the water at one point, so there might be a happy fish down there somewhere. ;)

We saw a crab, about 4 inches long, scuttling towards the water. Hope he made it, those gulls were everywhere! I got a good picture from about 2 feet from the front of him. We also found what appeared to be a jellyfish lying on the beach. It was about 2/3rds of a foot across but we didn't see ant tentacles. We took some pics and left it alone, but some other people came up, started touching it and then this girl picked it up! :scared1:

After a good day at the beach, we headed back, stopping briefly at Ron Jons Surf Shop, since we'd seen a billboard every 3 feet. We're at our hotel now, waiting for the Pop Century pizza delivery service to show up. We tried to order a half and half pizza, but the girl on the phone said they couldn't do that because mixing the two types of ingredients would make the pizza soggy..... :confused3

Well, it's our last full day. Man that went by fast! We're off to Epcot today. Last night, I actually had to call security because our neighbors decided that 1am wasn't too late to stand right outside our door and have a conversation with someone on the ground floor. We're on the 4th floor so they were yelling pretty loudly. They also had their door propped open by that metal security latch and were letting the door smack against that every minute or two for about ten minutes. I opened our door to ask them to be quiet and they told me to settle down and that they were talking to family, so i shouldn't have a problem with that. So, since they didn't seem to care, I gave security a call and they all mysteriously vanished into the room immediately. Didn't hear a peep from them after that!

So as per usual, we rode Spaceship Earth first, then headed over to Soarin. We got 3 sets of fastpasses, using our VIP cards and rode immediately. We got to sit beside some newbies this time! We love sitting next to people who have never been on Soarin. :goodvibes. We decided to grab something light to eat at Sunshine Seasons, as we have 1:30 reservations at Les Chefs de France. I got a tomato cuke salad and DW got a couple of boiled eggs, we both also got some strawberry shortcake. Good breakfast eh? :rotfl:

I'm enjoying your reports! We will be there in late Sept & I hope we have the incredible luck that you have!:wizard:

Well, apparently I can't do the pixie dust smilie on an iPad, so I'll just cross my fingers for you! :goodvibes

So Chefs de France was really good, DW had the Quiche Lorraine, I had the french onion soup and the ham and cheese sandwich. They not only melt the cheese inside the sandwich, they also melt cheese onto the outside! Delicious! We went on quite a few rides, watched the ducks and ducklings and braved the rain to watch one last Illuminations. Today was really the only day all trip where we took shelter from rain. Amazing for August! Not only was there no rain, we also havent seen a tour group in around sic days or so! The ones we saw before that were really well-behaved too. We just finished packing up all our stuff and we're planning on heading to MK tomorrow morning. We have six more counter services left to use. Figure breakfast and lunch will take care of four of them, we'll probably convert the last two into road snacks. We've got 20 fastpasses left from the VIP cards, so we're going to hit our favorites and then wait near a popular ride and give away the rest. The nice thing about them is that they let you ride immediately. Then, around noon, we're going to head out of town. We're going to head up towards Jacksonville, driving up the coast. 2084 miles to go!

So we miscounted and didn't have another day left. We had to go to guest relations to get a one hour pass so that DW could do an exchange on some shoes that aren't working for her. We gave away the fastpasses to a group of 7 people and now I'm just waiting for DW to get back. Then we're off to DTD to spend our last few counter service credits at Earl of Sandwich and we're on our way!

We've driven about 200 miles so far, mostly through rain. One thing I wanted to mention before I forget, as we were on the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, the monorail lost power! :scared1: We were actually in a powerless monorail for about a minute. At the Contemporary, the CMs were back and forth, talking to each other and the driver was on the phone. We then proceeded at about 1/4 speed to the next stop. Was very nteresting.

There's A spot where the big turtle likes to lie down and rest in the aquarium here. He floated down behind the people sitting at that table, a little girl turned around, saw the turtle and screamed at the top of her lungs! :rotfl::rotfl:

I just found your TR and have to comment about that little girl - that is hilarious!!!

Well, we made it to Monteagle, Tennessee, almost600 miles from WDW and let me tell you, it was an adventure! It rained, poured mostly from start to finish. There was a point near 5:30 pm in southern Georgia where we were almost positive we were going to see a tornado! The wind was high and swirling, the clouds were low and turbulent and there were massive amounts of lightning strikes within a mile of us! All of us were doing about 35 in a 70 at that point. No tornados appeared however, happily for us! Then the next part of the adventure began when we got to Atlanta. It was pitch black at 9pm due to the clouds and rain, although the rain at least stopped a few minutes in. Our GPS decided it was going to start acting up and we took several wrong turns, one of which had us going through a really seedy neighborhood. :scared1: The last wrong turn I took had us reroute past not one, not two, but three different accident scenes!! It took us over an hour to go one mile to our exit. After that, things went smoothly. The alarm is set to go off at 6am, so off to sleep I go! Have a good night all. :goodvibes

My best friend lives in S. Georgia and they did have a tornado touch down.. it ripped half her roof off.

Ugh, that's no good, I hope everyone is ok!

We're in Illinois now, sitting in a Steak n Shake. We've never been to one before, it's definitely not what we expected! Being seated by a hostess and given a menu by our server in what I would classify as a fast food place is quite strange! We have about 1200 miles left to go, hoping to do it all in one last long drive. Should be rolling in around 4am or so if all goes according to plan. :goodvibes
