LIVE from WDW...thank you DH for having a business trip!

I had a feeling that you wouldn't like WCC. I think the people that LOVE it usually have kids and/or picy eaters, which usually means it isn't "all that..."

Thanks for the reviews, MickeyNicki!

And Todd, thanks for the opinions and the ADR "magic!";)

Can't wait for October!

Mrs. Spratt

Yeah I think you are right! I cannot wait until Oct either...I just cancelled WCC and booked Narcoossee's instead...I love the Wave but I have never been to Narcoossee's so we will have to see what that is all about :thumbsup2

We have eaten at R&C for both dinner and lunch. I liked lunch much better. This is one of DH's favorites. Since he didn't get to come on last years trip, I am debating going there for him. He is ok either way as he is interested in trying new places as well. DS wants to try Le Cellier for lunch as we have only done dinner. This will be for New Year's Eve day so I am not sure I could even get us in! But I am also not sure I want to be completely inside. Want to enjoy the atmosphere of the Park. That makes R&C a possibility. Decisions, decisions .... and only 41 days til I can make our ADRs! Why couldn't they just go back to 180 days now! ;)

Lunch menu looks more my speed...I think I am going to book Le Cellier for our lunch in Dec...it is just as great as dinner!

Hi MickeyNicki! You're so lucky to have had an impromptu trip, I hope you enjoyed yourself. The reviews are fab (as usual). Thanks!

Thank you! I hope DH suprises me with another one!

I was gone for the weekend and missed all your reviews. ;) Glad you and DH had a great time at disney as usual, we will be sure to ask for a room that does not overlook the loading area. Thanks for the pics of the menu at RF and reviews. I was really worried about it since I hadn't seen many reviews of it. My kids are big breakfast eaters but DH isn't so I figured we could let him sleep later and grab something from there before heading to the parks plus the kids LOVE hash browns.

We are spoiled too by our local Japanese place and have crossed TE off our list next hear for Tutto Italia.

We didn't really care for WCC for dinner last year for dinner either, but DH & son loved the breakfast so I am sure we will be there at least once while staying at WL.

Any tips you can give us for staying at WL?

Glad to help with the RF menu....it was a very good place for breakfast but just too small so if you can get there before 9am you should be fine...there are a few tables in the hall and out by the pool too.

Glad you dumped TE for TI...you will love it!

I wish we spent more time at WL, it is such a gorgeous huge resort...I hope you have a wonderful time there! Make sure you take the boat to and from MK...it is a great ride!

Ooh, when I read that you and Todd were heading to WCC, I said to myself, this won't be pretty. How did I know that you wouldn't like it? I guess I've followed too many of your food reports. I ate there last week for lunch with my niece and 2 nephews. As I was waiting to order I saw the Skillet go by and some smell on it set off an alarm. Change of plans... I ordered the sliced brisket salad and the 3 teenagers ordered burgers with bottomless shakes. The salad was okay (how bad can you screw up lettuce) The kids said their burgers were fine. I thought the whole meal was just average, nothing to make me go back. The other problem was I wasn't on the dinning plan, so for $95.00 with tip I want really good food and WCC doen't have. Looking forward to more food journeys with you.

You were so right! The food was awful, I wish we went somewhere else but I am still glad we tried it and that way I will know I am not missing out on anything!

Another LIVE review coming up in 2 months, Oh I cannot wait!...but that means I will turn 37 eek!

Thanks for your restaurant suggestions. We will be going from Dec 5th-11th so I will just miss you. We will be trying California Grill and The Wave since I just booked CR last week (funny part is my husband doesn't know yet). We are suppose to stay at The Swan b/c of a deal $149 a night but then with free dinning I checked for WL but got lower rate for CR with upgrading to Deluxe. We are staying at the Garden Wing but we will be going to 2 MVMCP and my son loves the monorail resorts. This is suppose to be a budget trip:rotfl::rotfl2:.

Glad to help! You will love the Wave and CG..they are phenomenal places with excellent service and food. What a great deal for the CR, have a great time! I will miss you by a few days, Dec 14-17, another short but sweet trip!

OOOH sorry your Disney dining ended on that note!! But of course looking on the bright side you can now cross it off your list and go somewhere else that you might enjoy more!!

Thank you for your reviews...I hope the 2 months fly by too because that means I will be at Disney LOL

Thanks so much for your reviews! I've read many of your past reviews - they're so helpful in deciding where to eat in WDW, and we all know how important great meals are to a trip! :goodvibes

Jon and I went to Teppan Edo last year, and I vowed that I wouldn't go there again... our Hibachi Japanese place here is MUCH better (by a loooonnnng stretch!) I agree with no veggies, greasy noodles, and just too expensive.

We also went to WCC (But for breakfast) last year. They had Todd's favorite... sausage gravy and biscuits! (they did have yummy eggs too).. but the sausage was very fatty, and the bacon extremely smokey flavored. The potato wedges were okay, but not fantastic. There were also mickey waffles, that were typical waffles. We were also seated in the same section, but over toward the wall a bit (we were the only ones there for a long time!) our waitress was okay, she did some of the antics, but not all. Kinda boring and loud for me. (I'd rather do 2 days at Boma than another meal at WCC.)

The Plaza looks great! We may go there for a "split" meal... I hear you about the fries in Boston... they tend to be nice and crisp with just the right amount of salt!

I'll send you a list of our Oct. ADR days and if you want to try to meet up at one, that would be fun! (the Wave, CMC, Tony's and Kouzzina are on our list, as well as Ohana -I know it can be iffy- Yak and Yeti, Crystal palace(dinner) and Biergarten) We're sketchy on the breakfast buffets cuz Cait isn't a breakfast type of person, so I was thinking of just getting garden grocer for some muffins and breakfasty type stuff. BUT we def. have to do Boma and Akershus... at least.

Oh well, the joys of the ADR shuffle game, right... we both know how it can be!

I enjoyed reading your reviews. I can't wait til your October trips. How did you like Wilderness lodge over all? And where will your next trip be taking you to?

Your "salad" (didn't look like a salad) at WCC, ewww, it looked gross!!!! So glad we didn't book there this time. We do want to try it though, for the antics, so maybe breakfast is the way to go!! Your berries at RF on the otherhand looked awesome! Thanks for the report:thumbsup2

I think we will skip the WCC breakfast too...just isnt wowing me and I agree Boma twice is a much better thing! Send me your updated list and I will send you mine..I have been doing a little tweaking here and there and I vowed I wouldnt but we both know better!

I enjoyed reading your reviews. I can't wait til your October trips. How did you like Wilderness lodge over all? And where will your next trip be taking you to?

Thank you! We really enjoyed the WL...we stayed there in 06 for our 10 year anniversary and it was gorgeous. This stay it was alot more crowded than before but we still had a great time and the place is so huge that you dont feel crowded....the rooms were great and the only negative is the CS place, way too small for all the people that the WL has.

Our next stay is Oct 22-Nov 1 at the POFQ which I actually liked better than the WL because it was so nice and quiet and relaxing....cannot wait to get back there!

The pasta salad was supposed to be roasted veggies with pasta but it was mostly onions with pasta that had a raw taste to it and one pathetic broccoli floret. DH didnt want to try it because he isnt into the antics so he was very glad that it was tame....I was the one that was bummed about no fun and games. The berries were fantastic, I had no idea they would let me order them like that but the CM said they do it all the time...I love fresh fruit!

Glad to help with the RF menu....it was a very good place for breakfast but just too small so if you can get there before 9am you should be fine...there are a few tables in the hall and out by the pool too.

Glad you dumped TE for TI...you will love it!

Do they have "to go" packaging at RF so I can take it back up to the room and eat on the balcony?

We ate at TI in Dec for lunch and it was one of our favorites but this time we wanted to try dinner so we could relax and take our time. Lunch took 2 hours so we didn't want to take that much time out of our day again.
We are going for my bday so I picked CG for my bday dinner plus we can take boat from WL to Cont. which will be great. Your Wave review makes me want to try that one too. Have you ever eaten at Artist's Point?

We will have 9 days/8 nights at WL so we will hopefully have plenty of time to explore the hotel. We would like to take the tour and with any luck we will get to be the Flag Family of the day.

thanks again for all the reviews.

fab review, how nice to be seated along side a fellow disser at TE. Shame about WCC, never quite fancied it myself.

Thanks for another set of legendary MickeyNicki reviews! I want to be you when I grow up! :cool1::thumbsup2:cool1:

Yes they have lids for the breakfast platters and bags for the baked goods....the balcony is very small so it might not fit more than 2 people. I wish my TI lunch was more relaxing, the waiter was rushing me to death!

Have a wonderful time at the WL!

I thought so too! When we were talking she picked up on my being from Naples and coming to WDW alot, DH on business trips etc and she said, You are MickeyNicki right? DH just about fell of his seat!

Tell you what, the aroma from WCC was yummy so I was really hoping the food would be too...but it didnt live up to the smell :confused3

Loved your reviews! And I'm sorry you didn't have a good time WCC. I've been there twice and have always had a great experience. The dinner at The Wave looked delicious!! I hope to try that restaurant some day. :)

How did I miss this???? :lmao:
You have got to be one of the luckiest people on Earth!!! :thumbsup2
I love your reviews...I have an upcoming ADR at Whispering Canyon and I hope their food improves by then! I am also thankful for the review of Teppan Edo because we will also be eating there and you dont see it reviewed often! Never have been to a hibachi resteraunt before...I hope I like it as much as your husband did!! LOL!

Thanks for the great dining report, Nicki! :thumbsup2 I had been wondering if we should try WCC for the next trip, but just wasn't sure. Your report convinced me to leave it off and make room for a better choice. Can't wait to hear about the October trip!

Glad to help! So what will replace it with? I cannot wait until our Oct trip, that is the real vacation I have been looking forward to all year...F&W BABY!

Your husband is a real keeper. The year that I bought an AP we went 4 times. I thought that he was going to ask me for a divorce:rotfl2:

Just caught up on your review, we also ate at the Plaza on the 14th. It was very busy at 7:30 pm but they were taking walk ups. Loved your reviews as always. Can't wait for October.

Loved your review of the Wave, definitely on my new "must do" list.

I really think you put Boma on the map with your reviews...and now I'm hungry again. :thumbsup2
