Hello everyone. We checked into our 2bd room in building 15. This is our 1st stay and it won't be our last. I checked in online, and when we arrived it didn't seem like it saved us anytime. There was no lines at the check in desk. We were given our our welcome home packet and the CM's were incredibly nice, just like I had been hearing on other threads. My luggage had been lost on Saturday and they were very helpful in looking for it when the delivery company said it had been delivered. Well, it hadn't but when it did, they brought it to our room very quickly. I picked up the chair swap, looking forward to sitting on the beach watching my DH jump the waves.

They switched our original villa in building 14 to our current villa in building 15 because it wasn't going to be ready until after 6pm. We were in our villa by 4pm. Our dedicated 2bedroom is spacious and beautiful. Our view is the parking lot, but that is no big deal. I am sitting on our patio and it is very peaceful. I have no problems with the cleaning or the maintenance of our villa.

We went to the superwalmart and got some groceries. We were going to grill but the grill are across the street so we fried our hamburgers and had some adult beverages after our afternoon at the pool and beach. The resort is full and the pools are like warm bath water, the ocean is a only a little bit more refreshing.

Today we are going to just enjoy the resort, the activities, and then off to Squid Lips for dinner. We head over to AKV tomorrow.

Glad you got your luggage.:thumbsup2 Hope you have a wonderful trip. Looking forward to hearing more.

I share your opinion. The Vero Beach resort is truly a little piece of heaven. I live in Florida but way out west in horse country and a few days at the beach is such a nice change of pace.

Sounds like you're off to a wonderful start! Have fun.

We are chillin in our villa right now. I just made sandwiches for the crew. The kids took part in the opening of the slide, it is pirate day so all the cm's are dressed up and they put booty down the slide for the kids to get and they shot at them with supersoakers.

The girls did the mickey plate painting and the boys are going to the unbirthday party at 2pm. My DH and daughters battled the waves this morning and I read under the shade it was wonderful.

My kids are use to fresh water lake, we live on Lake Michigan so the salt water is not enjoyable to them. The warm water is amazing compared to our lake.

We are going to Squid Lips for dinner tonight and I am looking forward to to it.

We live north of you in Ludington, and our kids did not enjoy the ocean water, either. We spent the first day at VB jumping waves, which the kids loved, but they wouldn't go near the ocean after that first day;)! LOL

:rotfl: Salt water is a LOT different from fresh water! But it helps you float! I can't wait - we leave Sunday morning for a week at the world then leave for VB on the 23rd...it will be our first time there too - the ocean is always so cold up here on the Maryland / Delaware shore I am looking forward to the FL water!! I used to love to jump the waves when I was a kid! :lmao: I usually got drug all the way in tho, lucky to keep my suit on! :rotfl2: Oh those were the days!

Do report back about Squid Lips...it's on my list to check out...but do we need a ressie???

Keep us updated! LOVE hearing all about it live!! I am getting so excited now!:hyper:

We got here on Sunday - Vero is great. We ate at Squid Lips on Sunday pm - the food is great, dress is beach casual. We are here till Sat then off to DCL - it is a Disney two week vacation.

So glad you are enjoying VB. We went for the second time in June for 5 nights. We LOVE VB and the kids are happy with the activities. We ate at Squid Lips twice...we really enjoyed it. Have a great trip.
PS. to Mewiles soooo jealous you are off to DCL, hope you also have a great trip.

Glad you're enjoying it. I visited the resort a few years ago and loved it as well. I went with a couple of friends and we always refer to it as our "happy place." Do they still have the big rocking chairs on the porch facing the beach? I remember them being soo comfy!

Hi dairyqueenmom,
Glad you enjoyed Vero Beach. Your posts were great to read. It is perfect weather right now for the beach or pool!

Enjoy the rest of your stay at Animal Kingdom. I am sure you are glad you got your rest at Vero as there is little rest while at Disney! :lmao:

Could you post a list of the kids activities that hotel offers... I would really love to see all that we can try next summer!

Opening the slide sounds like great fun! I have to remember to look for things like that when we're there next summer!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation. We've been happy eating at Squid Lips, we used to go to Captain Hiram's all of the time, but we enjoy Squid Lips better.

I'm not aware of an online list of the daily activities. When you check in, you are given a sheet of paper with the activities listed, day by day, for the week.

The activities for younger kids (4-6) are primarily arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, things like that. For older kids, it's primarily sports--soccer, archery, fishing, basketball, dodge ball, kickball, etc. They also have family activities such as the dive in movie, bingo and campfire.

We also love Vero Beach and have enjoyed eating at Squid Lips. Unfortunately we will not be going to VB this year. I will certainly miss it though. :sad1: Marie

We are home after a great 5 days at AKV, and have already planned the return trip for next summer. We are going to flip the schedule and do Disney 1st then head over to Vero to relax for 3 days. Overall it was a great trip. We weathered the heat and the daily rain showers.
