Live from the WL - Le Cellier Reivew 01/02/2007

My DH and I had dinner at Le Cellier last night. Service was EXCELLENT. I thought the food was good. DH said his steak was just OK. We both started with the cheese soup. I don't like beer and the soup tasted a little too much like beer for me. My DH loved the soup. The multi-grain bread was our favorite. I had the 7 oz filet. I asked for it well done and it came exactly as ordered and it was still so tender I could cut it with a fork. My DH had the strip steak and he said it was not very flavorful. He didn't like the potatoes that came with the steak either. My mashed potatoes were very yummy. For desset, I had a white chocolate martini which I give an A+++. DH got frangelica on the rocks. This was our first dinner at the world. So more reviews to come. We will be here until Fri 1/11. Questions, please let me know.

My husband an dI ate there last week (12/28) and we thought it was just fantastic (maybe it was beasue my mom stayed back at the room with the kids!!!) I had the prime rib and he had the steak. I did have the cheese soup as well and LOVED it. I also do not like beer (none at all, not any kind) but loved the soup. He had the tomato with was very good as well (and I do not prefer them either). The service was great and atmosphere was fantastic. We had the chocolate cake and apple with granola and maple icecream. What a treat! We loved it all. Don't forget to make ADR. They turned away at least 30 sets of people while we were waiting.

we will be in the world in June. This will be our 14th trip in 16 years and we have NEVER eaten at Le Cellier. Can never get a table! So....... I marked 180 days on my calendar and called and........ they had ONE priority seating at 4:30 toward the end of the week. THe lady on the phone was just as surprised as I was!

So, we're going to eat there for the first time.

We don't want to blow it, so what is the best thing on the menu for someone who does like like beer, chocolate or coconut!!
