Thank you everyone for taking us all along with you on this historical cruise.
Really enjoyed the updates and pictures!

I can't believe it is almost over. Thanks so much for sharing will all of us.

Well we're back on board from a gorgeous day in Cabo San Lucas. Tonight is formal night and the premier of the new show "Twice Charmed". They will perform the show three times tonight. It's so hard to believe that almost two weeks have already passed! I guess we'll be hanging out here in the Sea of Cortez(at least I think that's the name) another couple of hours. Capt. Thord just announced that we will be here until 6-6:30pm so that they can fix a "technical" problem with the anchor that was used today. He assured us that we will still be arriving in LA on time. One recommendation that I would give for those going to Cabo this summer, almost all the water activities(jet skis, glass bottom boats, banana boats, parasailing, sport fishing, coastal/harbor tours, etc) can be done on your own right from the pier for much cheaper than the pre-paid DCL excursions. Many of the small water taxis have glass-bottoms and will take you on a water tour to the arch, lovers beach, pelican point, sea lions for about $10-12 per person.

In Acapulco we went (on our own) to the resturant at the cliff divers and for $12.00pp got to sit on the terrace which was actually a better view than those eating there had and the price included two drinks(bottled water, soda, beer, margaritas). No reservations are needed for the terrace view although you need to get there a little early to be assured a good spot.

Will do a detailed trip report when I return home.

Thanks for keeping us updated. We sail on the eastbound repositioning cruise and the tips were great. I can't believe we have to wait until Aug. And I'm so sad your trip is almost over-I'll be a mess when ours ends.
Stay safe

I have missed this thread for the last two days due to I had to do something actually called work - darn it anyway!!!! :)

I just want to take this time to thank you all for letting us here on land enjoy this trip with you. It has been more than enjoyable - it has been AWESOME!!! I still can't believe how excited I got, on land, for you all going through the canal. It was so awesome for me to be able to "be there with you".

Thank you, thank you, thank you - and to all the land people that helped bring the pictures to us - YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!

Everyone have a safe rest of the trip and we'll see her in CA!!!

All I can say is WOW!!!!! We just saw the premEAR of Twice Charmed. It was amazing! It is like a broadway show in 45 minutes! The costumes are just fantastic, as is the music. So far no soundtrack for sale! They actually were not supposed to be doing the show for another week or two, but stepped up rehearsals to be ready for this week. We are going back at 10:15 to see it again. Sorry, no picures! You will have to book a cruise to actually see it for yourself. We are off to enjoy the evening, dessert buffet tonight!

Thanks for the mini review, I can't wait to get back on the ship so we can see it for ourselves!!! :cool1:

Anyone who went to see the arches and Sea Lions in Cabo....was it worth seeing? We're going on 6/11 and am debating on getting a tour to get there with my almost 3 year old.

i too would like to thank all involved in keeping us up to date on your entire cruise!! i have enjoyed every minute of it!!

Ok -

Before anybody starts looking, looks like we are out of luck on this one.

Thought I might contribute to this thread instead of being a lurker. Just spent the morning looking for a Port of LA web cam, and guess what? Couldn't find one! So I e-mailed the port authority, and received the following reply -

Due to security reasons, all web cameras for the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have been removed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Inconvenience? Don’t they know who they are dealing with? A community that was able to have a Panama Canal web cam diverted to follow one ship for it’s entire lock transit!

T-20 hours and counting – who’s up for the challenge of finding a web cam?

Have a Magical day and sea today! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!!

Cabo was like stepping into a postcard. It was picture perfect. We were so sad that we couldn't spend more time there.

We took the Land's End Coastal tour. The Catamaran was gorgeous. It was spotless, modern and if it's hot, there's air conditioned inside spaces. We had the last excursion offered and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

We were forewarned that the prices are a bit higher in Cabo. We had a fantastic lunch at the Shrimp Factory. It wasn't cheap compared to the other ports but it was delish.

Twice Charmed was great. Lots of special effects, really top-notch. You're going to love it.

I guess I have some packing to do. The DISers are having lunch at Parrot Cay today. I wonder what the response will be when we ask for a table for 300?? :rotfl:

A techie friend of mine suggested we DISers pitch in $$$ and get set up a webcam of our own. Hmmmm, interesting thought 'eh???
