Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

The President of the Cruise Line spoke this morning and talked about the following changes in Dry Dock:

The spa area will be remodelled and pushed all the way to the front of the ship and windows will look out over the front of the ship they will add special private rooms for couples massages.

THIS IS THE BEST
On the upper deck of the ship they are adding a jumbo tron type display so that they can show movies under the stars and also enhance the sailaway parties will be 24 feet wide and I think 15 feet tall.

The conference rooms are being eliminated and replaced with more childrens areas, they will be computer simulations and actually allow the kids to pretend to dock the ship.

On Castaway Cay they are adding swimming with the stingrays

More ships are coming as soon as the exchange rates are better

2007 should see new ports of call mainly from the United States, no plans yet for Hawaii or Foreign Ports.

Think that covers the highlights.

Off to see Don Ducky Williams now.

Thanks for posting this :) So these are the changes that the Magic will go through this year, during dry dock? (I think it's in the fall, right??) If so, then I am very excited! Thanks again :sunny:

I too hope they have a new age group 12 - 14. My DD will be 12 when we said in November. But, are these changes for the Wonder too? Does the Wonder have a Dry Dock?

Time for me to post.

This is RichO and I would like to thank all for this thread. It has made the week fly by and very exciting.

My wife, sister-in-law and her daughter took the 7 day Western cruise in July, 2003. What an awesome boat the Magic is! We were celebrating my wifes 5 years kidney transplant, I was her donor.

I have co-workers who have been on Princess with the outdoor movies, they said it was great! They provided them blankets too.

I love the pic, keep them coming!

Have a great rest of the cruise!

Sounds like some great improvements!!! :) Can't wait to see them in December. The Wonder should have dry dock in fall 2006, right? Those changes wouldn't happen until then.

:cool1: :cool1: I can't wait! DH and I will be on the first cruise after dry dock!

It would make sense to have the screen located near the Goofy pool for the deck parties. They could cover the pool to provide more seating space for the movies.

Thats going to be totally cool! I can't wait to see it. My husband agrees with the hooking up the PS2 to it. That's fine with me (More spa time for me) :cool1:

There are no cruises listed for the Wonder from Oct 1, 06 thru Oct 14, 06 on DCL's web site....Dry dock?? :confused3

Most likely drydock. The wonder is always a year behind the magic in its drydock cycle.

Just saw all the pictures - It's so great to get pics right away - Great Camera Phone Pics - Love the one with Mickey and Minnie by the drivers seat - Beautiful picture!!!

Thought 14 days would be too long to be on the ship, Looks like I was totally wrong! Glad everyone is having such a great time - Thanks for all the live updates and pics - keep 'em comin!

Modern cruise ships usually go into a two-week dry dock once every other year, since Disney has two ships and the Magic is going into dry dock later this year, then the Wonder should be scheduled for 2006

Thanks to all for posting updates. This will be our first cruise and I am getting more and more excited as I read all the posts. It is really helping to calm my nerves reading how much fun everyone is having. I really hope that DCL brings a ship to California when they build a new one. We really don't care to fly and I am hoping that we become one of the return cruisers!!!! Thanks again and to all of you on board have a terrific rest of a vacation.

Great pictures everyone. Keep them coming they really make my day(and make me jealous).

What is the name of the band playing, wondering if they are going to be on the Aug cruise? Also someone said there would be over 1,000 kids on board in Aug, but that could change with all the new openings available. Thanks for all the updates.

The band playing is High Frequency

We just returned from our 7-Day Western on the Magic on May 14th, the day the repo cruise departed. Thank you all so much for making me feel like I'm still there. Your pictures, movies, and information are simply "Magical". Thanks for sharing it all with us. Godspeed to you all, keep her safe!
