Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

This is like the Sylvester Fan Club!!!

He was our server cruise before last. His baby had just been born and DD had to buy the baby something in St. Maarten. We loved him and his assistant at that time, Ivan. Both of them did magic tricks for DD. We were at a table by ourselves, with late seating, and I think they have more time to interact during that time.

On our last cruise, I got to speak to him several times, and one day at lunch in Lumiere's, he brought DD a huge banana split...which of couse, she ate like two bites of and DH and I were FORCED to eat the rest of it!!!

Our DD still talks about him to this day.

Hey!! I hear that there's an ugly rumor that I've been tossed overboard. While this may be wishful thinking for some ;) , I'm still here and having an incredible, fantastic, awesome time.

You already know the "fun" that it's been to get a computer. With my luck so far, the computer will probably explode when I hit submit reply. :confused3

Thanks to everyone who tracked our progress thru the canal. I just looked at some of the movies and really enjoyed seeing it from a different perspective.

The DISers on this cruise are some of the nicest folks that you'd ever want to meet. Everywhere you turn, there's the Kingdom to Kingdom lanyard. Smiles and friendly hellos are in abundance. I know that I'm going to miss each and every one of them. :(

I have a feeling that some of the 25 pounds that I lost for this cruise are creeping back on. There's always the WISH board. :teeth:

"Sea" you later!!! (I know, bad pun....)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks Regina! You've been great!

Good Morning Alvaro,

I communicated with the canal operators via email and I received 2 reply emails. One was signed JRA and the other Jaime Robleto. Don't know if this person was the actual camera operator.

Hope this helps! :wave2:
Thanks BuzzMan and Cruise04, I'll check on Jaime Robleto and draft a nice letter for him.

Show of hands...

Who thought the Magic was a tight fit in the Panama Canal :wave2: :wave2:

The crew has already started repainting the scars from her trip though the canal.

Hey Tracy!!! It was tight (about 2 feet on each side). What you're looking at was caused by a rolling tire located at the entrance of the locks. In that specific area to the 110 feet locks clearance you have to substract 6 inches from a rubber fender on one side and 1 foot of rolling tire on the other side... so it ends up being about 3 inches on each side.... and THAT IS tight!!! Nothing a night coat of paint won't fix :p

Had a great arrival in Acapulco this morning. The weather is incredible. Beautiful day.

By the time the ship got cleared by customs, it was about 10:45 a.m. The welcome by Roberto and the ACA Port Authority was a blast. Many of us on the ship were yelling out his name. I need to head back down and get a picture with him this afternoon. He was taking plenty of pictures from the shore.

We had a great welcoming band, 4 perfomers in colorful clothing on stilts and a couple of dozen people from Acapulco dressed in beautiful costuming from Mexico. They had the most incredible clothing when they dress up in their traditional costumes!

Many pictures when we got off the ship with our excursion. We did the Shot Over Jet Ride. It was a blast. The sulfur smell was a little strong though. We saw some crocodiles, many birds and many mango trees!

Some of our diehard Walmart shoppers, headed over to Walmart and then were disappointed when they got back on board and realized they didn't make it to the Mother Ship (Home Depot).

Tonight is Pirates night! Yeah! They've already got the decor up on deck and are ready to go. Loaded the fireworks today and brought more food on board! Good thing, they had run out of strawberries and raspberries!

Just had a Mickey :mickeybar and it was good. First one I had.

Now I am going to go to the pirate name generator because the Head Dining Room Manager "Daniel" has given me his full name so he can be an honorary pirate tonight!

Later!!

Well, just to let you know, even before the ship cleared customs Goofy's crew was out and painting and the Magic is now all fixed and beautiful again for her arrival in California! Nothing that a couple coats of paint didn't fix!

I still have to download the pics you sent Peter, it's been a busy day at work today, but you wouldn't know about that, since you are on a 14 day cruise, LOL!!!

Before I go back the last 10 pages.....any updates on "dry dock" info that I missed?

Lampskies - no info reported yet!

Have fun being pirates tonight all! Sounds like a great time. I really wish I was there and tried to talk DH into booking the repo back but, alas, he didn't give in - Oh well :)

Just a reminder that there are some great "Magic In Acapulco" pics being posted on the thread linked below. The link starts on page 9 with the Magic arrival pics.

Magic In Acapulco

I received the following photos from Peter (Hygiene99) this morning as the Magic was docking at Acapulco. The one photo, of an island in the distance, is Cuba and was taken last week. These photos were sent by Peter's camera phone.

Peter, I tried posting the nine photos you sent but I guess that was too many for one post, so I'm going to add them one at a time.

Never mind, I see they are now posted, I guess it just took a little longer for the photos to post because there were so many of them.

OMG, those are fantastic pics! thanks for sharing. Anyone else shed some tears??? :sad1: Boy do I wish I could be on that sailing...... It looks so beautiful. I hope everyone is having the time of their life! Thanks for sharing your amazing adventure!

Yes, I have been shedding tears right along with you. I have been following this chat since day 1. I keep trying to talk DH into the August repo but unfortunately school starts for me on Aug. 22. I'm so depressed. Keeo the pictures coming in. They are keeping me focused on our next cruise. (That and they are fun to look at) I am soooooo jealous

Great pictures Peter!

Thanks for uploading them Verandah Man! I can't believe the pictures we have taken on this cruise!!

DD (Quincy, who is 4) was in the Dolphin show at Cici water park. She got to ride in a boat that was pulled by a dolphin, then fed a dolphin fish (one in each hand) and then on in her teeth! Thankfully DH got plenty of pictures!!

For the question regarding shots, we did not get any extra shots, but check with your personal doc!

We cannot wait for pirate night tonight! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! pirate:
