Sorry, I wish I could, but I was out Wednesday due to getting a cortisone shot in my knee, so I can't afford to take Friday off as well. But, I will be checking in as often as I can during the day!!! :goodvibes

What is the matter with those people you work for?? Don't they understand you have a sense of higher purpose?? Haven't they seen the cape with the BIG V across your chest?

Look up in the sky!!
Up on Deck 7!!
Its a bird!!
Its a plane!!

NO! Its Verandah Man!! :rotfl:

(You know what? - you need a theme song guy like Kuzco) :teeth:

The time to go through the canal is just an estimate. We went through on a small boat last June (2 decks, LT 100 people) and although the estimated time was 8 hours, it took 10 hours that day - even though the boat travelled faster than the big ships when on open water. It all depends on the traffic. A special canal captain gets on and has authority during the transit - and they are in constant communication with the locks to determine priority, timing, etc.

I can hardly wait to see the Magic go through. Wish I were there.

DL is telling CMs that it will leave enter at 4am and exit at 6pm pacific time. So I guess they have lots of leeway in there. They've even givin them them the link to the webcams so they can watch it. I wonder if they're allowed to take time out of there day to sit and watch the magic sail through the locks.

First post from the Magic... the internet cafe has been so busy!!
Can't take time to catch up on 45 pages....WHEW!
Great day in Curacao yesterday.. did the Bounty Adventure WOW.. fantastic snorkeling!
Can't wait for tomorrow.... NOW WE HAVE A PORTHOLE!!
They moved us today.. something about having to access a plumbing problem thru our bathroom wall!! Whooooo hooooo
HEY EVERYONE>> WE ARE NOW IN 2506!

This cruise has been fantastic! Even sleeping in the hall was an adventure.
Okay... off to Lumieres...hopefully I can post again sometime..LOL

Here is a picture of the Wonder at PC today to help get us through the night. I feel sorry for her since her older sister left her to head west. I know she is not the Magic but she is still WONDERful.

Wow! A tequila tasting party??!! What a great idea! Thx for the update! Also, I loved hearing about last night's sailaway....it sounded like so much fun!! Keep 'em coming!

Tomorrow is it...send pics!! :goodvibes

Well the t shirt that that guy made and had shipped to Curacao has caused quite a stir. I guess the Disney people on board did not think it was too funny. I heard this morning that he was approached by the Disney people and asked to leave the ship, Well he told him that his lawyer was onboard also that they should talk to him, I will try to keep everyone up to date on this as things happen, Well its really hot and humid outside but will go up on deck to see whats going on for awhile and will be back with yall later,

This is an update from that daily blog about the T-shirts.

I was asked to post this, since Bonzie1 does not have an internet account on board. All errors in spelling, etc are mine, and result from trying to transcribe this...

Through the Panama Canal on the Disney Magic - May 20, 2005
by Bonzie1

We've left Curacao behind
But wait till tomorrow and you will find
A brand new journey for us in store
It's something that's never been done before
The Disney Cruise Line will make it's first trip
A momentous occasion for this Magic Ship
On Friday, the twentieth of May
Two thousand and five, we will all sail away
The Panama locks will be opened wide
And soon, we'll be traveling safely inside
First up is Gatun, then Pedro Miguel
Then it's through Miraflores, oh the tales we will tell
We did it! We made it. We rose up and down!
It was quite a tight fit. We could not turn around!
From ocean to ocean the crews did not rest.
They got the ship through from the East to the West.
The adventure's not over. We're all far from through
With excursions and seminars there is much more to do.
From KINGDOM to KINGDOM our mission is sure
We're bringing the Magic to Disneyland's door.
LOVE the poem!

Glad to hear everyone is having a good time. Can't wait to see the Magic go through the canal tomorrow.

Do you remember a server named Salvatore from Italy? He and his brother Marco (who also is a server at Palo) were the presenters. Salvatore is full of personality (I felt sorry for Marco having to follow him in the presentation). Both presenters bubbled with pride when discussing their country, its products, Palo and the Disney Magic! Their presentation was excellent.

Oh, I remember those two Italian hunks. They were our servers
when a dozen of us ate in the private dining room (with that fantastic tile
mural) at Palo.

I can't remember which of them brought in a flatbread pizza, and asked:
"Who ordered the flatbread?" None of us answered. "Oh, that's right....
I did!" (Did I mention how adorable they were?)

I think Marco was the one that Margaret kissed. If you're reading this,
Margaret, please clarify....and let me know if you saw them again! :earboy2:

Thanks for the pic. All this Magic talk was almost making me regret doing WDW/Wonder this Summer. Now, I feel better. :earsboy:

DH and I loved Marco at Palo back in Oct 2003. We had the best dinner with him. He also ordered us a pizza, that we didn't ask for (which was super tasty). He also ordered us some pasta, because he said no one should go without pasta. And, he took the liberty to order DH and I both the souffle, plus the tiramisu and the cappuccino cheesecake. That's the first time that we ever had 4 desserts. OOhhhh, I just loved Marco!!!

Thank you to the above poster who posted this link to another view of the Canal. I went to the below link and it was very educational and entertaining for my kids to see these pictures as a ship goes through. It's amazing that the ship has to be lifted. We got a kick out of the "mules".

I love the picture of the deck party as the ship is going through. Do you think people will camp out for a good spot on the ship? Just kidding :rotfl2: I think it would cool watching from the front of the ship but it sounds like you'll be standing there a long time ;)

How exciting  You all are so lucky! I can't wait for pictures to be posted from the Magic!

I personally think it is more of a "mental" thing, some sort of addiction..... :rotfl2: A "dis" addiction......

And the only "Friends of ..." intensive support meeting is scheduled for all day tomorrow :rotfl2:

no offence intended to the "Friends of Bill W"

Can anyone please tell what the dining rotation is. I will be on the repo in aug and want to make my palo reservations on Sunday. Is there any nights that are not to miss?

DS just saw Marco's name when he was looking over my shoulder. Here is one of the few pictures of him as an assistant server on the Magic from our 12/4/04 cruise. We will have to request him at Palo and figure out a time for the kids to meet him to say hello.
