Ive posted a couple of things on the main cruise board but thought Id post on the Trip Reports boards since this is kind of a live report. I miss the days of unlimited internet for $99!!! So this is being written in Word and I will cut and paste.
We have had a great cruise so far though Tropical Storm Omar has changed things up a bit. We will not be docking in ST. Thomas tomorrow as the Coast Guard has closed the port to cruise ships. Pirate Night has been changed to Thursday Night and semi-formal night is Wednesday night which is a sea day now.
We will dock in Nassau on Thursday at 2 and depart at 9:45 apparently as the pirate party gets underway. Hoping for better weather there.
St. Maarten was fantastic today until the skies opened up around 4:30. Luckily we were on the ship after our wonderful day at Orient Bay Waikiki Beach. We did this one on our own. We grabbed a taxi at the pier and headed right o Orient. We had heard Waikiki has nice padded loungers and plenty of umbrellas which is what the adults were after. The wave action was great at our part of the beach and the teens had a blast! We ate at Coco beach standard burgers but it was delicious though expensive!
Made it back to the ship after a little shopping right at the Pier and had nice warm showers before the rains moved in. The Excursion Desk was jammed at 5 as people were scrambling to get new excursions for Nassau. Not sure what we are doing yet may just play it by ear.
Thats it for now. I guess this is cruising in October when flexibility is the name of the game! Off for another Pineapple Mojito the drink of the day!
