Live From The Magic 9/18!!!!

JanDave, thanks for the kind comment about Robyn. We think she's pretty special also. She called today from St. Thomas and mentioned meeting you. I know she get's a kick out of people saying hi.

Good Morning...........

I was wondering how the seas are? Any word on changes in your itinerary due to the hurricane? We are boarding on Saturday and have all fingers and toes crossed to get on the ship in Canaveral. Just wondering if there has been any talk of an alternate dock (Ft. Lauderdale or Miami)? CM at DCL told me this am that Miami had been mentioned as a possibility. Just get me on that Mickey Boat!

Glad you are having a great week! Happy Anniversary!

Live from the Magic -- a/k/a the Rock and Roll Day at Sea!!!

Rough seas since we left St. Thomas yesterday. We have heard nothing about NOT going to CC tomorrow. A bunch of us DISers are wondering whether we will be able to dock at CC.

Great day at St. Thomas. Beautiful weather.

The DCL staff went out of their way to make sure DH and I had a great anniversary celebration yesterday.

Jan

Thanks for the update, Jan. Many of us on the 9/25 Magic are wondering where you guys will be tomorrow and Saturday and whether we'll be passing you all by on land as we race onboard!

Cm_Mom, in what department does your daughter Robyn work? Lord willing and if the creeks don't rise (literally) we'll be boarding the Magic on Saturday, we'd love to say hi to her.

I would think that CC is probably in the plan for this week. I would expect that they won't make a decision until they have a better idea of where Jeanne is heading and how far away from CC it will be.

Depending on her track, we could have a bit of a mystery cruise as well. That's fine with me, just get me on the ship, no matter where I have to get on and get me out to sea!

Happy 50th Birthday to David!! (DH of glindamood) - - on the MAGIC right now!!

As those who have sailed before with Dave know, "tomorrow" is always his birthday. But today, it really, truly, is the day.

Everyone onboard - Wish David a happy # 50.

And sing really loud when they bring out that cake. (If he ever finishes eating lobster).

And ask him how many (years, not lobster tails)!!!.

:wave2:

Congratulations to all of you celebrating your anniversaries on Wonder or Magic. You're all just newlyweds...we're celebrating our 32nd on Wonder in December.

Good luck to everyone sailing this weekend! Hopefully all of these storms will just disappear and everyone will be safe and have smooth sailing!

Beth

Hello from the Magic!

We are still rocking and rolling on rough seas. Captain Tom made an announcement late morning indicating where Jeanne was located and her direction. He will make another announcement this evening. Many people are sick from the rough seas. I think we'll see lots of empty chairs at dinner tonight.

My DH and I just had the spa taster massages. We booked through the REAS plan. What a great way to spend the afternoon.

We had brunch again this morning with Glindamood and DH (who is celebrating his birthday) and 2 other couples. We requested Anne Marie and had a great time.

Bartjwb, DW and DS received a voice mail today stating that their excursion at CC was canceled - the glass bottom boat tour. My DH is planning to fish in the morning at CC, but we're assuming that will be canceled, too. Several CMs are guessing that we won't be able to dock.

Will let all of you know what else we hear from Captain Tom.

Jan

Thanks for the post. It is interesting to hear how things are going, especially since we're supposed to be on board on Saturday and may have rough seas on the way out. I actually think I might like that, but I'm sure I'm in the minority.

Does anyone know of a web site that shows the current wave conditions in the regions the Magic sails?

Thx again Jan for the updates! Best wishes for calmer seas tomorrow!

Greeting from the Disney Magic!

We are headed back to Port Canaveral. Captain Tom expects us to arrive late Friday night/early Saturday morning. If we are able to, we will stop briefly in Freeport for fuel. The CC residents will be picked up by the Wonder tomorrow morning. At 8:30 p.m., Captain Tom said that we are about 300 miles ahead of Jeanne. Seas are still rough. Lots of ill cruisers. We were in Parrot Cay tonight and there were at least 12 empty tables. The pools were off limits today. The adult pool was drained.

Saw Disney Dreams tonight. Always brings a smile to my face and a tear in my eye.

Enjoying the music in Promenade Lounge tonight. We're planning to celebrate Glindamood's DH's 50th birthday.

Will let you know how we are doing tomorrow morning.

Jan

Thx Jan sorry about the weather......:(

Best wishes for your day at sea (try the wine tasting and spa options!!!)

Just watching the news now and it seems Jeanne will hit Florida early Sunday morning or during the day Sunday. Has the Wonder made any changes yet?

Mjasp, here's info from DCL website

Disney Cruise Line® –
Important Information
As of September 23, 2004 - 7:45 pm EST

Unavoidable circumstances created by Hurricane Jeanne have brought about the need to make adjustments to two Disney Wonder cruises.

Disney Wonder Three-Night Cruise, September 23, 2004
In order to avoid the effects of Hurricane Jeanne, we have extended this three-night cruise to a four-night cruise and modified the itinerary. We will now visit Cozumel, Mexico, on this voyage rather than the Bahamas. The ship will return on Monday, September 27, to Port Canaveral.

Disney Wonder Four-Night Cruise, September 26, 2003
This cruise is being delayed by one day and will depart on Monday, September 27, on a three-night voyage rather than a four-night cruise. The cruise is still anticipated to sail to the Bahamas. However, depending on the path and impact of Hurricane Jeanne, it may be necessary to eliminate our calls to Castaway Cay and to Nassau. In this event, we will explore the potential to visit other ports or to have days at sea.

We realize that guests who have reservations for this cruise were looking forward to a four-night itinerary, and we are offering discount incentives to those who still choose to sail on this cruise.

Guests who booked air travel on their own should change only the inbound flight to Florida. Do not reschedule return flights as we expect no complications related to our return to Port Canaveral on Thursday.
They've move port day for the Wonder to Monday.

Hey Jan,
As soon as you hit town and if you can't stop by to pick up the phone, call us so we can get it to you - its dead unfortunalty but am hoping you have the charger with you - call me at 321-508-2246 or the shop at 321-799-4438 and let me know as to what we should do ok?

Hugssssssssss to ya

Good Morning from the Magic!!!

The ship doesn't seem to be rolling as much OR I'm getting used to it! My DH and I are having a fun time despite the weather.

The Navigator lists a full day of activities.

Captain Tom will make another announcement at noon.

Of course, we're disappointed that CC is off our itinerary, BUT we certainly understand why and would not want to be near CC today with the wind and waves. Believe it or not, there are families who are mad that we aren't going there! One family who was going to rebook today changed their mind because of our not going to CC today. Amazing!

Hope all Magic and Wonder cruisers for this coming week have a safe trip to Florida. I'll be praying that all Floridians stay out of Jeanne's path.

Jan

Jan...I agree with you, who cares which (if any) ports you go to, as long as the captain keeps you safe.

Where are you sailing? which area? and when do you think you will be back and to which port?

Joanna

We leave tomorrow on the Magic- I would like to thank you all for keeping us informed. It puts us at ease to know that the captain is keeping you all entertained and safe. This being my 3rd Disney cruise-first time for my grandaughter- I know how great the boat can be. Sorry you are missing CC- it is a great island but there is always next time:cool:
Thanks again for all your live reports.:hyper:

mjasp -- We are headed to Cape Canaveral. Expected time of arrival is 10 p.m. The captain mentioned possibly stopping at Freeport for a short time to refuel.

The seas have become much calmer. It's still windy but we have some sun.

Jan
