Live From The Magic 9/18!!!!

Okay, I've been lingering but I must have missed the coffee shop. Where is it? I would love to know I could treat myself to a nice latte or chai tea on board while sitting out watching us pull into port.

Jan, hve a cheese danish for me and a chocolate croissant for Norman.

Tell us more about Antigua.

Kim

Cool! Thanks. Love to hear more live reports.

Antigua is a nice small Island nation. You guys gonna be docked next to the town proper itself. Lots of tourist traps like shops. Wifey and I were there on our honeymoon cruise and we decided to ride a taxi for a tour and cab driver was nice and took us to a lots of places. He even took us to the highest point on the island and have a view of the ocean, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.

Saint Thomas is where "Shop till you drop" thingy is, that is if you like shopping. We did the Saint Thomas/ Saint John shore excursion, where you took a boat ride to another Island called Saint John and there you ride a bus to tour the island. Lots of sceneries.

Well, so much for that. Enjoy your Cruise.

Having a great time - sunny and smooth seas so far. A note to add to Jan's of the coffee shop - if you purchase an insolated coffed mug (they have 2 sizes) in the shops you get a certificate for a free coffee at the coffee bar - will use mine later this afternoon (need the caffine to stay awake tonight for Michael Harrison). We also have a different band but I have not heard them too much - we watched the sail away from the front of the ship and could not hear them.

More later.

Gail

Shirley - that was a small token for a very special couple! You are welcome.

Hello Sherrie-

Hope you are having a great time! Do you know if you are having Pirate Night this week? If so, what night?

Hope you have a "Magic"al cruise!:Pinkbounc

Good Evening from the Magic.

Pirates Night will be some night this week, not sure which night.

Beautiful day at sea.

tHX FOR THE updates. If you could, find out who the band is now. I'm trying to find out if the Charles Marshall band will be sailing next summer.

I can't wait to hear about the Antigua excursions. We are on the 10/2 cruise to Antigua!

Jan-

Glad to hear that you are having a great cruise. What animated movies are playing in your cabin? In 2001, when we sailed on the Magic we saw Hercules, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp 2 and Dumbo about a hundred times in a week. I think I can quote Pinocchio in my sleep till this day.

Also, what movies are playing on board.

Enjoy your day at sea tomorrow!

So glad you guys are having a great time. This should take it to the first page so you can find it for easy addition on Monday.

Have a great week.

Good Morning, Again -- Live from the Magic! -- I love saying that!!!

Beautiful calm morning at sea. We are scheduled for our character breakfast at 8:15 today. Just a few personal stats about my cruise:

Just DH and I (both in our 50s). We have early dinner seating and our dining rotation is LAP. We are seated at a table for 10 -- all couples and none were traveling with others. We are in secret porthole stateroom 5520. Only word of caution for those who need/prefer absolute darkness when sleeping -- there's an overhead light that is on all night outside the porthole. If you close the curtains separating the stateroom, you should be ok. Light doesn't bother us at all, and I like having light filtering in. We love the location of being forward, convenient to get to various places on the ship.

jlawall -- bands on the Magic this week are:

Rockin Bar D - DJ Mateo
Sessions: Kenne
Promenade Lounge - Cocco Bello

We have been in the Promenade Lounge late evenings and are enjoying the music.

Tonight Rhythm Extreme a "high energy percussion and dance group" (similar to Stomp) will be in the Disney Theater.

Golden Mickeys was yesterday -- a don't miss event.

Disneybride96 - My DH and I have booked our own excursion. However, I will report later this week after talking to others about their excursions booked through DCL.

DMFender -- Movies playing this week:

Raising Helen
The Village
Brother Bear
King Arthur
America's Heart and Soul
Pirates of the Caribbean
Princess Diaries 2
The Alamo
Junge Book 2
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
Around the Worled in 80 days
Miracle
Finding Nemo
Home on the Range
Mr. 3000

Jan - thanks for the live report - love reading them.

Good Morning from the Magic Soon to Dock at Antigua!!!

We had another great day at sea on Tuesday. We were traveling at a fast clip -- over 23 knots -- as we had to circumvent Jeanne and other storms. We are expected to arrive in Antigua at 8 a.m. Departure is at 6:30 p.m.

Saw Rhythm Extreme last night. What energy and talent. Great show.

Tonight is Pirate's Night. I'll report about this event tomorrow.

By the way, our servers are Plamen (Bulgaria) and Patricia (Brazil).

I'm enjoying the Quiet Cove coffee shop. Late last night we scheduled a get together at the coffee shop with DISers Glindamood and Ragdoll. Meeting more DISers as the week progresses.

I've met and noticed that there are a lot of couples only on the ship. My guess is at least 100+ couples.

Went to the Castaway Club reception yesterday. Captain Tom announced that there were over 700 repeaters on this cruise. He gave no indication of future ports of call, just asked where we would like to go. No talk of a 3rd ship.

DVC is offering incentives to purchase additional DVC points on board. My DH and I purchased more as our family is growing (4 grandchildren and one more on the way).

Will report tomorrow about our day at Antigua.

Jan

Good Evening from the Magic!!!

Great day in Antigua. The weather here was sunny, temperature was in the 80s, and it rained for a few minutes around 3:30 p.m.. DH and I booked our own excursion - Eli's Eco Tour. Several families from the Magic were on Eli's 52 foot boat. (www.adventureantigua.com). What a wonderful day we had. Besides snorkeling, swimming and having lunch, Eli gave us a history lesson about Antigua; saw turtles swimming; birds of various species - some native to the area and others near extinction; took a short hike. I will check with others this week as to Antigua beaches.

Tonight is Pirates night.

We leave Antigua at 6pm and head to St. Thomas.
