OMG, Everything I just typed in the last 20 minutes is gone!! :headache: I'll type it later. Want to see what's left of the sunrise.

First dinner is at 5:30, games on the Dumbotron

Cheryl, where are you?? I haven't seen you yet!!

Hi!! It's been so hard to get on the DIS!! We're at table 40 in AP tonight at 8:15 if you want to say hello!
I'm on my way for some tour then high tea at Palos.
Weather seems to be warming up nicely. Key West was fun being there until 1:00 am. I was one of the last ones back on the ship ;)
Did the trolley tour, well worth it!!
I have to run but I will check back tonight to see the questions!!

The weather has been great so far besides being on the chilly side. Today is much warmer so the kids went in the pool. The seas are very calm, you can barely feel any movement. Here's to the same tomarrow in Grand Cayman. I'm only typing a little at a time so I don't lose what I type. Can't quite figure everything out as on my computer at home.

Have an awesome week!! I am looking forward to how it is. 60 of us are on the next Western!! It is so wonderful you are posting live for us. We were thinking about everybody in Key West yesterday!!

Are the CM wearing pin lanyards? Are they pin trading at the cart?

Enjoy!!
Lisa

Yes, they are trading pins. I have seen lots of CMs wearing lanyards, but the only ones who can trade are the ones at the trading station. At least this is what I was told. I am going to ask about it again tonight when the girls trade.

Edited to add:
I did talk with them again today and they said any CM with a lanyard can trade. They were a bit confused as to why the lady I talked with couldn't trade and the only thing we could come up with was that she was working outside of Topsiders and it may have been a sanitary issue there.

Not having been on a seven day I can't compare, but the boat has a "crowded" feeling to me. There are kids everywhere (of course) but it feels so much different than the Wonder. I was thinking it had to do with no one in the pools the first two days. Everyone seemed agitated the first day. Many I talked with had traveled in that morning so had been up since the wee hours of the morning. The kids club was horrific the first few hours. Many upset people who couldn't drop off the kids that night. Getting my 2 yr old in the club was more of a hassle than I expected. She is potty trained and will be 3 this Monday. I was told that since it was open house the first night they could not do a test run, with me there, until 2:15 the following day. I was scheduled for Palo brunch at 10am so I was told to come back when a manager was around. I did a few hours later and they just asked my DD some questions then did let her in Sunday morning. I just happened to find myself in a rut because of the brunch as some had the night before with wanting to do dinner. At least all went easier for me. And I never did get to that brunch as I gave my spot to my friend thinking I couldn't do it anyhow and they were wait listed. All turned out well :upsidedow .

Have a great trip Cheryl. My family and I are going on the 2/25 Western. I have a question about the dining times. Can you tell me what the staggered dining times are for early seating? I've read some conflicting reports about this. Thanks in advance for the information and have great time!

Kathryn

I'm looking at tonight's navigator. The times are 5:30, 5:45 and 6:00. Each restaurant has it's own time. I think people are making more out of this staggered time then needed. I'm sure it's so that the servers can get the drink orders and not have three dining rooms ordering at the same time. The same goes for when they put their dinner oderes in. I'm in the biz and I'm sure this staggered time thing is just easier on the bartendars and kitchen staff.

Kids club & the first night @@

Seems like a disaster to me. Everyone just seemed more confused then I have ever seen them at check in.

I knew what was going on but even the lady at the port checking us in was cluless on the situation. Parents were complaining one after another at the club, but the lady said people seemed happy about the change. ???? Seemed to me only the staff was happy about it.
I gave my son who is 9 a "Y" on his band so he could check himself in or out that night. I knew he would just stay put anyway. I told her was going to switch it the next night & she told me I had to make up my mind! I told her I did make up my mind, I was switching it the next day! @@

All is well now, except my son won't do his homework & one of us had to spend almost :wizard: the whole day in the cabin with him.

High tea at Palo was good. Worth the $5.00. Nice selection of sandwiches, mii pastries and a parfait.
The server told us that they are the only ones to have high tea on a ship. I told him he was wrong because I have had high tea on Carnival several times. He disagreed. lol

Tonight is Golden Mickey's, captain's cocktail party & formal night. I better get going!! TTYL

Hmmmmmm, on our 11/05 Thanksgiving western our dinner time was for the rotation not the resturaunt......we were 8:00 every night. If I remember correct!

This is my fourth DCL cruise. It is packed. I just wish people would stay up later! LOL I'm always the last person awake on this ship.
The kid's pool was crazy today. :crazy2:
I walked right by it and proceeded to the Cove pool ::yes:: :sunny:

Yes, you would be at the same time but like today...
Lumieres is 5:30
Animator's Palette is at 5:45
and Parrot Cay is at 6:00

I hadn't seen Golden Mickey's before. Had a hard time finding 4 seats together as everyone was holding seats and the place was packed even with a matinee. It's hard to get to the shows earlier if you want to do the 7:30 stuff in Studio Sea. They are so fun for the kids! The show was good, kids liked it. I always seem to be next to people who don't like to clap!?! :sad1:

Michael Harrison is not to be missed! The kids loved his main show, but adults must see his show after the Golden Mickeys!! My sides still hurt!! :rotfl2:

The seas are fairly calm, temp is good. My face is beat red from the sun. Wasn't thinking about it since there was such a cool breeze on deck 10! Hoping for smooth seas in GC so we can tender. :wizard:

It's still the same. You have the same time every night.

I told Pikey that I heard a lot about him and he said "From where? DIS? Must be those Turkey Day cruisers!"

I was talking with a woman today who says that she is an officer's wife. She said he usually works security at the port, but is filling in for three months. She has been on the boat for 9 weeks and they are done at the end of this cruise. She also said that Captain Tom will not be on the next cruise, he will be in Hong Kong and his wife is also on the ship. I'll try to verify this if I can.

We have been traveling with 2 to 3 boats in sight all day. I guess we will see them in GC! :)

Our servers are Sameer from India and Toni (male) from Spain. He is teaching the girls some Spanish each night. :teeth: They are both very nice and attentive, but Sammie is a bit over the edge with asking if the service is "excellent" etc. each night before we leave. He is a doll though!

Tomarrow in GC we are renting a car and going to Rum Point. I am still debating on the spa I booked for Thursday, but I think my back needs it so I will probably keep it!! :rotfl:

Later!!

edit for sp.

I can see you over at the other computer!!

Sounds like you guys are having a good time. Enjoy!

Can someone try to find out what this new update on CC will be?!

Hey Pyramid! Thanks for the Pikey report. I am a Turkey Day cruiser. When you see Pikey again tell him that the Beast (Andrew) and Air Guitar Katie send their best.

So, Disers, how are you all doing with the medal count? Any Diser's in the Disney Legs contest? Any Bon Jovi's or Go Go's at 80's night? Ping pong champion? You guys have Pirate Night coming up tomorrow. The Diser's need to represent! Get your DH's up on stage for some Pirate Dancing!

Who else do you guys have on the cruise staff besides Pikey? David? Key-on? We love them all! :worship:

Thanks for taking the time to post. It is fun to live vicariously through fellow Diser's!

How hot is it? My girlfriend just got off a RCCL ship and she thought that it was chilly. She couldnt go into the pools. They wore coats all the times and rough seas. I am packing and now I think I might need some heavier clothes. They missed RCCL private islands because of the seas. Are you still going to Castaway cay?

It doesn't really affect the kitchen staff because each dining room has its own seperate kitchen & drink stations.

I forgot to mention this on our thread last week (just got off the Magic on Saturday), but . . . Pikey goes on vacation in a week and Dazzler just left the ship on Saturday to go home and see his new baby girl. :cutie:
