Wednesday 31.3.04........first bit
I'm sooooooo tired after last night! I must be getting old as i cant take the pace anymore!...mind you, Becky's whacked too! We both want to sleep in this morning so I send Mark off with the others to Magic Kingdom with a promise that I'll be along with Becky soon. Beleive me I wont miss going to MK....I cant believe I havent been there yet! Usually I have to have sight of the castle first thing!
I manage to write up another day's trip report while waiting for Becky to get dressed so thats good I also have to pack an overnight bag as Mark is taking me away on our own for the night tonight. I dont know which hotel we're staying at except that its on Disney...cant wait! I wonder if it'll be WL, where we spent part of our honeymoon last year..........or maybe GF where we've both longed to visit.....or the YC where Sam loves and Ive heard so much about!
I'm not worried about the drive to MK on my own (well, with Becky)....except that as I turn across 192 into Sherbeth Road a County Sheriff vehicle pulls out behind me, and then follows me really close all the way!!!!! You know how you feel guilty without hvaing done anything?!!!!.....I worry he might pull me over and wave a gun at me or something.......
ANyway we reach Mk easily and I laugh at how much I worried about driving over here....its a cinch!!!! Im preening myself so much I almost forget my purse and have to go back to get it!!!! Doh!
Take the tram to the TTTC and then the mono over to MK........that first sight of the castle still thrills me...even on my 8th visit........We have a minor hiccup at the turnstile as Beckys hopper doesnt work......ouch! realise we must have used up the days on that one but luckily have 1 day left on another....phew!!!! Becky isnt thrilled with me, but thats nothing new!
As soon as we're inside MK I start smiling and cant stop, it just gets me like that...the cheesy music, cheesier smiles, the characters..everything.
We've arranged to meet the gang at the castle and there's Mark, just having ridden IASW! What? Appparently his sis made him....tee hee!
Its 12.30 now and we're all starving so Becky drags us all to Cosmic Rays for a steak & cheese sub...her favourite....with lots of toppings.....dont you just love those toppings bars?
Our tummies full we decide to start slowly with the Haunted Mansion, another Becky fave...she wants to work there! I can just see it now........... The ride is great and only a 15 min wait. Even Jamie quite enjoys it. I love the ballroom scene but dont like the bulging and knockingdoors down that dark corridor.......shiver....
....out of that and Becky spies lots of spooky looking giftsso has to buy a couple. Then its over to the mountains, but they have enormous queues unfortunately, with Splash an hour wait! We grab fast passes for Thunder Railroad and then wander over to Pirates. On the way we bump into my parents....told you its a small world!.........who have just ridden it. I love this ride and its very relaxing on that little boat. We had forgotten about the drop bit though and it frightneed poor Jamie a bit!
Its time for citrus swirls all round after this and we sit in the shade of a brolly with the lovely ices chatting to Mum & dad who have ridden Snow White (Mark did this too and it scared him!) and the Jungle River., and Buzz. they said all the CMS have been really kind to Mum which Im really pleased about.
Mum wants to ride Aladdin but is embarrassed without a child..lol....so Becky OFFERS to ride it with her!!!!!! Shock horror...is the Disney charm even working on my cynical daughter?!!! Mark takes Jamie on too and they all love it, Mum says its just her level, bless.
I can see the parade pass by which is really cool, while we sit here at the Sunshine terrace, and Stu gets some good pix. Mum & dad have had enough by now and decide to head back while we return to TR to use our fast passes (we have to go and visit a few shops on the way of course)
Great ride, very fast and fun but Jamie screams all the way round and says he hates it and his Mum has spoiled his holiday forever! Poor mite....(he soon recovers though and now tells us its his very best ride)
Over to Space Mountain now where we see its a 50 minute wait...oh balst! Its the only one becky has asked to do though so Mark, Stu, I and Bek all queue while rebecca takes Jamie on the little blue transit train. Im glad we did it though as it actually only took 25 mins in line! STu has never done a real fast coaster so is a bit vervous but Becky reassures him if she can do it anyone can.........
...and he loves it. Im right in the front and get extremely rattles.......I also nearly get exposed as the straps on my new top fall down on the way!!!!!!! Good job its only poor Becky behind me!
Its now getting on for 5 pm...doesnt time fly?.........so Mark says we need to make a move for our hotel. The plan is that the others will take Becky back in their car to the villa, and out for dinner tonight with her Grandparents so shes quite happy...anyway shes still on a high over Slipknot.
Im really excited as I still dont know where Im going yet.....
Back to the car and Mark just tells me to drive............
