Live From The Eastern Disney Magic! (Update Tuesday Night)

It is a little after noon on Monday. CLoudy today about 84 degrees. light sprinkles here and there. seas much better at this point only about 4-8 feet. A real light rocking,,,, All the pools did open yesterday in the afternoon.

Everything is just perfect. Almost the whole ship is from Boston area. The captian gave the weather for Boston at his noon update. The cruise director entered Golden Mickeys last night announcing he hear the Yankees were going to win this year. He got booed!!

A very nice sea day today. Wish there was a bit of sun but the temperature is great. Will get a list of movies out. There are about 8-10 playing.

The Bumblequats (love that word) are here tonight....(Yes Herc is gone!!) There are two groups doing a practice (closed) for the new shows (Cinderella) and heard a murder-mystery show is being produced for the pass western REPO cruise. That was direct from the director today at the behind the magic talk. He said they are in pre-production for a 3 day ongoing murder mystery show to potentially debut on the REPo and go from there.

Okay...back to get another iced Cap at the Cove Cafe... Will update again later tonight or in the AM

Have a Disney Day!

Glad to hear your seas have calmed down, and that the pool re-opened. We had this on our shortened Hurricane Jeanne cruise, and it was difficult for the kids.

Pixie dust for some sunshine, I am sure it will come your way..Enjoy.. :wizard:

Glad to hear the seas are dying down. Just keep the boat clean for me, and don't drink all the drinks of the day, I've been dreaming about them since I got off the boat last April. Please let us know how those "Bumblesquats" whatever they are, are. Also, is Que on board? He is in charge of the entertainment. I hope so, we love him. Have a great trip!!!!!

Has anyone done any fun shore excursions that you've heard? Just wondering for our Eastern next year.

Have a great cruise!! :boat:

Yes, I agree the seas are much better today. They got better for a while yesterday and then picked up again last night. They say the worst is over. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny in St Maarten - can't wait!

I will come back with the list of movies but in addition to those already posted, I recall Pooh's Heffalump movie, Around the World in 80 days. I think someone already mentioned The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, The Pacifier.

Can't remember the rest. We're having a good time - the Kids Clubs need a better system, though. We are on a sold out ship, so maybe that is putting a strain on them, but the lines to check in to the clubs is always long. I am hearing lots of reports of kids being bored and asking for parents to be paged. Probably depends on the child, because I have one who loves the Lab and one who I had to bribe so we could have brunch at Palo today.

Anyway, more later. Off to see if the sun has come out yet (hasn't made an appearance all day!)

Remember you guys on the boat NOW...if you Meet Kristen and Anthony from Reading Ma....tell them Karen said HI......and have a good time....I would love to shock her and someone to do it for me......they have two kids...a boy anthony 10...black hair almost 5' tall and Christina - 4 red hair , freckles and looks like Darla from Finding Nemo...same personality too..they are in the first sitting at dinner I know and in a cabin in catagory 5... :wave2:

I am worried as I get motion sickness... :guilty:
should I bring different types of medicines?
like the patch? or the sea band or dremamine (sp??)

I know it all works different for everybody.

I guess I was hoping it was only "rough" during hurricane season...

our first cruise, but at least I am aware

I was wondering if you knew anything about the piano entertainment? I miss the guys on the Magic in that wonderbread styled room. They were so funny! Is there a piano lounge, and if so is it just soft music, no interaction with the passengers? :confused3

I'd bring everything you think you might need. Only you can guess how you might react. No sense in getting sick. If you are expecting totally solid ground on a ship, you won't get it. But modern ships with stabilizers barely move as compared to ships without. Disney was my 7th cruise, the first 3 were on ships without stabilizers. My first cruise was on the MS Mermoz, a ship one third the size of the Magic. That ship really rocked and rolled quickly. The stabilizers dampen the sharp movements, however in rough seas the ship will rock slowly....very restful I think when trying to sleep.

Kristen and Anthony are seated next to us at dinner. They have told us all about you and were checking to see if their phone had a signal today when we passed near Puerto Rico. They are doing well - poor Anthony (son) was sick the first night because the seas were so rough but he is dong much better now. We hung out with them today at the pool. I'll definitely tell them you said hello. Small World!!!

wow.........what a small world that you are NEXT to them at dinner....Oh the boy you were talking about the other night WAS little Anthony....wow I told my mom that I had a feeling it was him ...how weird. I hope they are having fun though....Big Anthony and I have fun ribbing each other...Call him "PuddingPop" at some time and watch teh smile come on his face....lol...because everytime they come to Maine for the weekend he stops at teh local small convient store and loads up on Pudding..so it is a small joke my daughter Heather has made up about him...How is Christina during dinner??? Watch her eat ...she eats like a 30 year old man...too funny....I hope Kristen ( my sister) is getting some relaxing time....
Do you have kids too???? I thought I read on your boards that you did about the same age too??? well Have fun.... It is nice here too....sunny and mid 70's today and sunny and mid 80's tomorrow....St Marttans should be a blast today for you guys........

I wonder if anyone is seated next to my sister Shelley and her daughter Ariana? I hope they are having a good time with their friends Melinda and Kimmy too. Glad to hear the seas are better, it is calmer in the Caribbean Sea usually...

Stabilizers only do so much. They help with side to side movement but not front to back. I would suggest if you are prone to motion sickness (and you either are or aren't) then take the non droswy dramamine every day and you will be fine. This REALLY REALLY worked for me. And I get sick thinking about travelling in a car! We had waves of 20ft and we did not sail in hurrican season. Oceans are oceans, not lakes.

Wonderful day at St. Maarten. Weather about 85 and rather humid but mostly sunny. Left about 7:25. The Pirates Dinner was very good. But the fireworks were something else....now they are not wishes...but in the middle of the ocean it is something! Only Disney....everyone appears to be having a fun time...

I have to share this short story... last night I was getting a copy of my bill to check something out about a credit. The man next to me (use that term loosely) was actually yelling about how he has planned for the last two years and he was very upset over two things...Why did it rain and be cloudy on "his families sea day" and why were the seas so rough leaving Florida.... I had to giggle and then the kicker was he said he wanted some kind of comp. for his vacation being spoiled... now I have heard everything... I want to turn to him and kick him...but I controlled myself and just rolled my eyes..I thought the cast member that was helping me was going to burst!!

Okay enough of stupidy..... St. Thomas in the AM ... Should be a great day...altough 6:30 AM for Customs??? (Only in the USA!!) Okay...that is it for now...maybe the other disers will check in with some additional insight.....

From the Boston Based Magic Ship!!
Disneyma

Checkin again Wed. Night!

AugustHeather97 - I will definitely call him PuddingPop. He and DH have become good friends - similar sense of humor and all. Christina and Anthony are great kids. They are wonderful at dinner - but I will watch Christina more carefully next time. I would say your sister looks very relaxed, too. The weather is much better and everyone seems to have that "I'm on vacation" look!

Disneyma - I totally agree! Today was the best so far. The weather was gorgeous - a little humid - but I'll take it! Fabulous day. Pirate Night was fantastic - they really did an amazing job!

Gotta run - early customs in the AM. Be back later!

CTFamilyCruisers

That is good they are having a great time....Did they dress up at all for Pirate night??? I bet NOT...they aren;t the dress up types....Did you call Anthony Pudding Pop yet? that will blow him away I think. lol.....Tell Kris I said hello again....everything here is fine....Today is sunny and mid 80's so it is really feeling like summer all of a sudden...which is good after the LONG winter. You can kid Anthony too about being at the half way point now...he ALWAYS does that to me when I am in Disney world. Did her family get off teh boat onto the Isalnd? How is the food???? on the boat? and yes watch Christina eat....I have never seen a 4 year old so much ....her fav thing to do..lol......have a fun day at sea......
Karen :sunny:

Thanks magic for a great week!!

Now back to the regular scheduled program of REALITY!!!

11:17 PM April 22 Cove Cafe!

I saw the Magic in port today as I was driving from 528 to A1A to visit Shirley at The Perfect Gift. It was sad seeing the ship knowing I wasn't going to be back on it until August 2006, but she sure looked nice sitting there in all her splendor.

I just finished reading an article in the Florida Today newspaper, it was an interview with the DCL President Tom McAlpin talking about the Magic's trip to the west coast on May 14th.

It was nice to hear you had great weather for your stop at CC!!!
