LIVE FROM THE "BRINGING THE MAGIC HOME" 8/20 REPO CRUISE

Right now it's Capt. Thord and Rachel she is doing a great job, lots of style and grace. Capt. Thord is going to have a long time before he lives down the "brown ****ie" comment he made on one of the 12 noon updates.

14 days is nice. I have made some great friends and had some amazing experiences but I'm ready to go home and see all the p.c. video of the cruise of a lifetime.

Time for reality.

Captain Tom is the senior Disney Captain, and oversaw the building of both the Magic and Wonder. So if he disappears, be suspicous that Disney is building a third ship. Yes the Captains rotate. Tom was the Captain on our cruise.
I assume the cruise directors rotate too, Rachel was on our 2003 cruise. Nice lady, but her voice has a "fingernails on a chalkboard" quality to it.

Silly question- I was aboard the Magic in July and Brent was our cruise director and Captain Tom was the captain. I have also read of a Cruise Director named Rachel having been on the West Coast, too. Have they been switching out since May? Any idea many captains and cruise directors are with DCL? Thanks!

Do you believe the Crew on the Magic work 365 days a year 24 X 7 - I've heard of Pixie Dust but let's be realistic here, they do need to take vacation and leave just like you and I, hence why there is more than one Captain, Cruise Director, Hotel Director, etc etc. Can I just add though that who evers on board they always give us a "Magical" time - MUST be the PIXIE DUST!!!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!?! I love Rachel's voice! Knowing that she's going to wake me up int he morning over the intercom makes me so happy

And the Magic is back home!!! Photo taken by Peter (Hygiene99) as he and his DW Jennifer were waiting for some of the Repo Cruisers to get off the ship this morning.

Easy, Lizdisdog. I think you misunderstood. I realize there are several captains and cruise directors. I was just curious as to if any knew approximately how many. Since the Magic was on the west coast for only 12 weeks, I wasn't sure how often they'd switch/rotate/change them. And yes, pixie dust is abundant on all the staff! :earsboy:

OKAY- SO YOU GUYS ARE BACK NOW......START TALKING!!!

So isn't the worst thing that last morning when you wake up and realize that the ship isn't moving and you HAVE to get off!!!

I hate to say it, but I'm glad that the ship is back in FL- it means my next cruise is that much sooner!!!

Anybody have any suggestions of software for transferring video to my computer??? OH Goofyguy777??? ;)

We actually made it home with all our luggage. Thank goodness for Delta check in at the ship-no hassel and no weighing of bags. Got home with just over 320 lbs of stuff. Sorted through, but no idea when I'll be able to look at all the pictures (over 1000) and post. It was the trip of a lifetime, made especially so by the great people we sailed with.

Probably won't be hearing much since lots of the cruisers are spending some time at WDW after the cruise. You'll have to ask Tracy how the stingray thing was, she was one of the lucky few that got to do it. Both of our booked excursions were cancelled due to thunderstorms, oh well, just have to try again next time. :goodvibes Oh next cruise will have two castaway days :Pinkbounc double the amount of time I get to spend on my favorite island.

It really was an exceptional time. I had a great time meeting people and don't think I ever went to an event or the pool where there weren't lots of fellow fools.

I am spoiled now I'm thinking 7 nights won't be enough. On the same note, 14 was just a little too much for me. Those 10-11 day cruises look awfully inviting.

Hi Guys,
This is Pam and I wanted to let everyone know that we made it as far as Baton Rouge, We can't go into Belle Chasse till Mon and than it will take about 1 month before we can go back home. From what we hear we should has little damage but we will not know till after Mon. I will keep everyone posted.

Pam,

You, and all the others in your area of the country, are in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope your damage is little and you are able to get back home as soon as possible. Please let us all know how your home is and how you are doing.

Hi Everyone,

Made it back to California last night at 8:00 pm. Told the boys they could stay up until 2 am ...Eastern time :)

Today has been a slow one. Went to the grocery store since our house is empty of food. We were suppose to go pick up our boat, but there is a boat show and no one there to pick it up from.

I told Keith I'd like to have some pinapple at Scoops, but he couldn't help me out. Longing to look at the Navigator and decided how to plan our day. Can someone make my bed for me?

Glad to be home. This was a once in a lifetime trip and we enjoyed it! I feel lost with nothing to plan now :(

Pamkass, we hope your house sustained little or no damage. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Deb

Pam I hope all is well when you get home. It was nice to meet you!

We met a lot of very nice DISers. Too many to meet!

This was truly a trip of a lifetime! The Canal Crossing was spectacular! We viewed each lock a little differently. We were on deck 4, 9 and 10. We watched a little from our window on deck 5. Downloading tons of pictures.

Our El Mercado/shopping tour in Acapulco was good. I wish the morning weather would have been clearer so we could have had better views of the city.

Manzanillio was authentic Mexico. Not my favorite stop!

Curacao was GREAT! I wanna go back there some day. Excursion of the Hato Caves and Ostrich Farms. Too COOL!!!!!!

Castaway Cay started off raining, but turned out to be VERY hot! Beautiful as always.

Spent a lot of time listening to Ducky Williams. DH won a Thumper (last drawing to be raffled). Loved listening to Ducky. Listened to other talks too!

Spent too much at the art auctions. We will have to find room for all of our new Disney works. One area will be Panama Canal pins, photos, etc.

14 days went by very quickly! I have been washing clothes all day and getting back to reality. Philip did not make my bed this morning. Where are my chocolates and towel animals? :confused3
