Hi all! Well day one is pretty much coming to a close for us. Kasey is in her pajamas in bed watching the little mermaid with grandma!
We got to port around 930 and were sent tot he day lot to wait for the port to open. Got in there aruond 10:15 and boarded around 11:45 or so. Went straight to Palo and got ressies for brunch, tea and dinner! I went to dining changes to see where we were sitting and who our waitor was...the one we wanted is on vacation so we have a guy named Den and a girl named May, both very nice!! They orginally had us at a table with strangers but I had that switched when I went to the dining changes guy. Picked up our tickets for tea with wendy and the bridge tour then went to the spa and got my 2 ressies I wanted there. Stopped off and registered my daughter at the kids club then went to lunch at Parrot Cay. They tried to tell us to go to topsiders that there was a 30 minutes wait at Parrot Cay but we said that was fine we would wait...well in 5 minutes we were seated! After that we unpacked all our clothes-thank goodness for that over the door shoe holder, the room we are in is so small. I have not sailed in a room without a verandah before and this is a cat 11- I can't say that I would ever book this cat. again though! It a bit to claustrophopic for me in there! Went up tot he lifeboat drill, took all of 10 minutes, if that and we were back in our cabin then heading to the sail away party. We didn't actually sail away though since they announced we were waiting for a couple families to get there, I think we sailed aroudn 615 or so. Ate dinner in animators, food was good but just to much of it, we couldn't even get through desert!
I forgot to pack socks for my daughter-a major trauma for her- so I had to buy 2 pair in the store onboard, they are to big for her but she is happy something is on her feet!
I had shirts made that said "gails magical disney cruise" and one for my mom and one for my daughter...my mom said we were going to look like jerks LOL...but we didn't look anywhere are funny as this other family....there were 13 of them and they all had on orange shirts that said "farkle family"...but each had a different name- one was fanny farkle, fussy farkle, farmer farkle, foo-foo farkle, flower farkle etc....my daughter would start sing songing "the farkle family" whenever she saw them, she was getting a kick out of the names!
Oh we stopped by and saw Shirley while we were in port! It was great to finally meet her! There was a great gift basket from her in the room when we got there for my daughter that I had ordered. When she saw it she just yelled "mommy look what shirley sent me"...yea like I had nothing to do with it LOL!!

Glad to hear that you have started the cruise on a great note! :) There is a big difference between a category 10 & an 11. Looking forward to reading your posts this week.

My mother told me never to be jealous...BUT I IAM...Was on the Eastern Magic April 2nd...and very homesick....Eat a creme brulee' for me and a Mickey Bar for me!!!!

I'll be in my cat. 11 next week! :hourglass I"m getting on when you're getting off. We watched you sail off today on the net. My girls looked at the pics from Port Cam and we noticed that you were still in port at 5:40 !!!

Have a wonderful trip and tell Mickey we're COMING!!!!! Keep us updated on the highlights.

I'm jealous. This time last year WE were in a Cat 11 on the Magic. Oh well. We had a fabulous time and I'm sure you will also.

Thanks for the update! I am also looking forward to hearing more about your cruise. Your daughter is so adorable, I hope you all have a fantastic time! Have a mickey ice cream bar for me!

Have a MAGICal week and thanks for the live report!!! I'm glad you got a chance to stop by and see Shirley at the shop.

Thanks for the great report. We can all live vicariously through your trip!!!

Thanks so much for posting - the "Live Reports" are so much fun to read. Wishing you sunny skies, smooth seas and a MAGICal cruise!

Thanks for posting. I love the live updates. This last trip totally spoiled us to veranda rooms. The next cruise, we compromised, grownups get the veranda room, kids get the inside room across the hall. ;) They don't care about the veranda and it's not worth several hundred dollars just to have them next door.

Have a magical trip!!! I can't believe it has been a year since our last trip in May... What tours are you doing on the Eastern route?

Enjoy your trip!!!!!!!!!!! I remember you looking to find if your servers were around, Hope this pair works out well for you. I hope to pop by and meet Shirley next times as well...SOunds like you are getting into it. I have stayed in a cat.11, and it is a little tight, we spent more time in our room when we had the verandah, but a cat 11. will work fine, you will get used to it..

Pixie dust for :sunny: :sunny:

Have a great cruise! I want to hear all about it, Dh and I will be doing the eastern in 5 1/2 months!

We are going to Megans bay on our own and then to a beach in St Martin on our own-haven't picked that one yet LOL.
Today was fun, weather was great! Golden mickeys was awesome. I spent an hour or so in the rainforest room, fell asleep in one of those loungers. I was the only person in there the whole time!
We got to see the medical facility this time around. My mom discovered she took her pill bottle with only 2 pills in it instead of the one I had gotten filled for her so they gave us 6 pills to hold her over...only charged is $1.60. What a deal! Had tea with Wendy, that was cute and we did Palo for brunch. It is now after 6 and I am STILL not hunrgy after all so we skipped formal night, I don't like formal night anyway!
My daughter spent some time in the kids club but I was talking to a couple with 3 boys 5,7 and 9 and their kids hated it and won't go back so they had to cancel their palo ressies and spa ressies!....whew...glad mine likes it this time around. She was a little bent when I picked her up today because some "big kid" pushed her- she is 5 so the big kid was probably all of 7 LOL...she told the kid to knock it off though.

If you get a chance and can make it to the coffee bar on deck 9. Do make sure to say hello to BENITA. You'll never meet a cooler person in the World.
Tell her CINDY and SNOW say hello !!!! (She'll understand exactly what you mean).

Cheers,
Amy

From her picture in her gear in your sig I am sure that she could take care of a big kid pushing her. ;)

Here's an excerpt from my wife's trip report concerning a great St. Martin beach: We elected not to take any cruise excursions this trip but had planned to get to a nice beach in St. Martin. We got off the ship about 10:30am and caught a taxi to Le Galion Beach, which we had read about online as being a good place for little people. The road there was quite bumpy as we passed the Butterfly Farm but the beach was absolutely perfect! It was calm and warm, without any sudden drop offs. There were chairs and umbrellas to rent – we sat 3 feet from the shoreline. There was a nice refreshment stand and clean bathrooms. Just down from where we were, there were water sports – windsurfing, paddleboats, etc. The beach is surrounded protected by a natural reef, so you can hear and see the huge waves crashing in the distance. It was just the place we had wanted it to be! Not too crowded, sunny, lovely. We got there around 11:30 and we had asked the taxi driver to return and pick us up around 3pm, which he did (He was very prompt and courteous – the ride cost us $6 per person, each way). We came back to the taxi stand near the ship and there was a golf cart offering rides right to the ship for $1 per person so we hopped on. All that laying around on lounge chairs and frolicking in the water is exhausting!

I have friends on the cruise with you. Brenda, Jason, 2 boys, and Georgia, Paul, boy and girl. Say hi for me if you see them!! Hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC time!!
