St. Patrick's Day at Sea on the Magic and the weather is great. Seas are 4-8ft but the Magic is gliding through the sea with a very nice and gentle rock. It is a little hazy and we can't see Cuba, but the sun is shinning and green beer and Guniness is at every bar.

Last night we had near gale force winds and the shipping was rocking more but not bad. At 2am the bridge crew saw a small boat adrift in the 10-12ft seas and called the US Coast Guard. The wind and seas made it too dangerous for the Magic to assist directly so Capt. Tom had the crew position the Magic upwind of the small boat to block the wind and waves. Within the hour the Coast Guard arrived and rescued the people on the boat. I don't know the nationallity of the people on the other boat, or what happen to thier vessal (I'll try to find-out). I learned all this from the noon announcment made by the Captain today, but I wish I had been there to see it.

I have to run now because we are going to "Race Toads".

We were to also be on that cruise but due to one of our sons being ill we had to postpone until June. I am enjoying reading your updates so keep them coming! Do you know if they released any new limited edition cruise pins during the evening pin trading time? Have a great cruise!

Anyway, yes the crew read this Dis board. I was in napkin folding class and Ian asked if there was anyone there from the Dis board. I raised my hand (I was the only one and the new poster at that). Anyway that was how I found out, and why he asked me to pass on the post that he is fine and not leaving.

Seas are at 8-12 feet so the George Town Port Authority closed the port today and we will not be visiting Grand Cayman. This was done about 8am and after a few guests had already gone ashore, so they had to tender back to the Magic after we had pulled anchor with the Magic "hovering" off shore. The two other cruise ships (Carnaval "Pride" and a Celebrity ship) went through the same ordeal. The new Navigator's were out by 9am with a full days of activities scheduled, and a deck party with free drinks on deck 9.

We're only getting to Cozumel two hours early due to the time we had to spend at Grand Cayman. But we love being on the ship and relaxing. The kids have made new friends and are now all but a distant memory.

Bruce....so you didn't get to Cozumel Tuesday night??? Oh, that is too bad, we had so much fun there when we missed Grand Cayman on our January trip. We spent an overnight in Cozumel and had a ball at Carlos N Charlies!!!
