OH! And one more thing...we heard the baby's heartbeat loud and clear for the first time this morning. It was wonderful! :cloud9:

My Mother always said that having a child was like having a piece of your heart beating outside your chest. I guess she meant that your heart hurts whenever theirs does. As a parent, NOW I understand her!

Hey Lampy!

How was shoveling that snow? What with all the sunburn? I have to post the photo of you and I fighting over the last Miller Lite on Castaway Cay! It is great!

Oh by the way, Willie-
If you were the one that put the magnet on our door?...Thanks...we will put it on our refrigerator so we can remember we had a great time.

This was a great cruise...our first ever...and what a great group of folks to meet! :grouphug: We were one of those families that went to some of the DIS meets, but it was really nice walking around and seeing a familiar face from the DIS boards.

About Grand Cayman...ditto to what has been posted...it is still wiped out, but once it gets back on it't feet I'm sure it'll be as beautiful as ever. In Georgetown, like Lampskies mentioned, nothing but shopping with a ton of high priced items. So, if you are going soon...or even in the next several months...go on an excursion or see a little of the remains and head back to a very quiet ship like our family did. :boat:

Cozumel...we did the Tulum Ruins excursion to the mainland and it was great! We had a couple of knowledgable guides and learned lots. (I took tons of photos here.) WARNING!!! If you are the least likely to get motion/sea sick...take dramamine for the ferry ride...even folks who normally had no problem were complaining of the ride. :tilt:

Castaway Cay...a pure slice of :cloud9: !! The adult beach is really peaceful and quiet! DH and I enjoyed walking along the beach together on the first day. Day 2 we did the family beach and still had a great time.

Onboard...lots to do or lots of nothing to do. DH, Eric's plan prior to sailing was to be the dad in the commercials...ZZZZZZZ...well, he tried a lounge chair on each deck and can happily report they all are suitable for a good snooze. :D DS who's 12 enjoyed exploring the decks on his own late at night and yes, I felt comfortable allowing him to do so...I felt he was in good (safe) hands. The day DH and I were at our DIS Palo Brunch, DS went to Lumiere's and had lunch on his own. :earboy2: The shows were fabulous! I can't pick a favorite...Hercules was a hoot and Disney Dreams brought tears to my eyes. :sad1: Of course, that was after DH surprised me by becoming a DVC member onboard. I've been trying to get him to do that for the last 2 years.

We missed the 80s night party, but made it for the 70s bash...silver7's DH made a great construction worker as part of the "Village People". :rockband:

And to Melody, our Turkey Day Gang member in spirit, what an exciting time for you and EB...I remember the first time I heard DS's heartbeat...wow! I hope you will keep us informed of the progress and wish you the best as you take this journey called parenthood. :grouphug:

Well, I'm off to start some Christmas cards...

This thread is so fun to read! It brings back the experience of the cruise!
Hopefully, I have enough time this weekend to go back and read all of it! (sigh)

Thanks to my Palo Brunch DIS friends! It was such a great time! The food was incredible, the conversation was great, the view of the ocean divine. I even missed the one bout of rain during the whole trip while I was enjoying stollen, pizza, etc. at Palo's Brunch! :boat:

Guilty. I wanted to put on on everyones doors, but ran out of time. Glad you liked it.

Bill...glad you liked the door sign!

Hey, who ended up with the Turkey Day Tag? I know Willie had it several times! I'd love to know the progression...I started it on Willie's door then he put it ?

To Silver7 the FIRST time it visited me.

I am very excited about our Christmas 2006 trip....yes, it is two years away but I need that much time to save for it! I couldn't resist the onboard room credit. We will have a porthole this time (our first cruise--this Thanksgiving one--we had an inside cabin).

Any DIS'ers from our cruise booking this Christmas cruise? I'm already wondering about St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Key West...all places I've never been!

Can't believe how wonderful cruising is... :wizard:

I hope Sebastien and Ivan are our servers again! What are the chances?

Actually Ladyhawke, we have decided if we book again next trip, it would be for that cruise! DS would be in college then and would not have the time off at Thanksgiving, but would at Christmas.

Is that a 10 day cruise?

Yes, its the ten day, from Dec 16 through 26. I've already started looking into the ports. It looks great.

silver7....I thought you were already booked for the Turkey Gang cruise 2005?

Laura ºoº

Alrighty then...couldn't convince Eric to do the 2005 Turkey Day Gang Cruise...we'll be headed home to SSR for our first DVC stay.
