I am very sorry to hear of how things are on GC, worse than even I imagined, and you know how closely I've been watching the situation there.

And am sorry to say I'm glad I won't be going back there anytime soon. Having been there before the hurricane I really don't want to be back there until things are back to something resembling normal.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Magic!

The seas have been calm the entire week! The weather has been terrific. Just noe this Am we are having a few spirinkles of rain, but nothing much.
This has been THE BEST vacation!!! Don't worry, Melody, there are lots of pics of "Bon Jovi" coming. I was LOL so bad my side hurt. Lampy, Doogie, 5J's were a sight with big wigs, vests with no shirt, and lip syncing up a storm! Last night we got PREMEAR of Nat Treasure, so no late night DIS meet that I know of. But we have been meeting up late at night almost nightly. Like I said earlier, the best part of this cruise has been seeing DIS friends all over. Yesterday we went to Paradise Beach ans sat with Doogie and his wife Jackie. Also saw Babysharknc's family. Paradise beach is no longer a secret! It was packed, but thinned out alot as the day went by. Paradise Beach Tom brought me out a few extra beers for my bucket gratis. Really terrific beach waiters. The best you could ever hope for. Arturo was THE MAN!
Gotta agree with Lampy, GC is not quite ready for tourists in my opinion. We did Capt Marvin, and THE Capt himself was our Capt. Very good snorkleing. Very helpful crew. But town itself is a mess still. And you talk about expensive to eat!

I am going today to book for next years Thanksgiving. My family loves this ship.

Gotta run. Will try to post later, but just having too much fun to get online. I don't want to miss anything!

P.S. Ran into Pussycat(Michelle) and her son Justin late last night. Justin came to the movie with us. What a nice young man! Like I said, meeting on these boards ahead of time makes you feel like old friends!

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!!! Today is palo brunch, diversions football and Lobster and Turkey for dinner.....Seas are still calm and it's a bit overcast......but it sure beats shoveling snow like my neighbors are back home. We did the Fury catamaran and beach party.....The water out here is absolutly beautiful!! I think there were too many people per catamaran they hearded us on and of at the snorkeling point. Too many people trying to get in one spot!! In my pinion the Golden Eagle on lst years eastern was better for snorkeling but the "beach party" was the best!!!! Vollyball, beers and sun. The tide and waves picked up just before we were to leave and the kids did some great "bodysurfing"!........Off to palo!!!!

what time did you leave for the fury cat.'s and when did you return? We are booked on that but I am concerned about not gettting any shopping in. DS loves to collect masks that the local's make and I would like to get one for his social studies teacher too.

Here we are day 2 at CC.....Last night was lobster tails and Tom Turkey!!!! It was a little overcast yesterday at sea but still calm....perfect day for watching football....looks like 82 and sunny here today!!

Ann the fury meeting was at 12:30 we didn't actually sail 'till about 1:30.....they said it's 3 1/2 hours from the time you leave the doc.....we were back around 5. The shops are right down the doc. We did some shopping stopped at Carlos and Charlies.......DEFINATELY go there and do a shot.....and were back in time to shower and make our late seating!!! Time to disembark....see ya later.......

Yes, we are home....safe and sound.......BOY, IS IT COLD!!!!! First words out of DD (jessicas) mouth while waiting for our transportation to our car at the airport...."hey Dad, why do we live here....I like the weather much better in the Bahamas?" LOL I think this thread may stay "alive for a while....we had a great time with some GREAT disers......all you future sailors....get yourself a thread going!!!

I agree w/ Lampskie--it was great meeting Disers and spending time w/ them on the magic. In fact, a group of us have rebooked for the same week next year!! The cruise was wonderful, the weather was perfect and the people we met were terrific!!

I agree with everyone, we had a MAGICAL time, and rebooked onboard also. It was so much fun to meet everyone everynight, and it did not matter if we were in a club, in a movie, or just meeting for a bottle of wine in deck chairs, we had a blast.

I have to tell you, our Capt Marvins excursion was wonderful, but the devistation of the island! Boats in yards, sunk, against houses, roof damage everywhere, and trees down--all laying in the same direction, from one side of the island to the other. The winds must have been something else. But I want to encourage people to book excursions, for the excursions are fine, the fish and stingrays are fine, and the island needs our tourist dollars.

I have one question--when do you stop feeling like you are listing? I am still walking sideways today!

Hello all! We went to KSC after disembarking. No crowds! Stayed at POP century sat night. No chocholates on our pillow. We missed that "eat whatever you want" from the Magic.

We arrived home tonight and are still feeling the motion of the seas.

Our TV did NOT have rca jacks in it at all. rm 2072

Captain Marvins was great.

Great to meet many of you all.

Sad to be home, but we are booked for next Thanksgiving, also! We ate at Bomas at AK Lodge Saturday night, and DD Erin asked me if we have to pay for the food there, or is it free like on the Magic?

I am also sorry that I did not post here more often. But we were just having too much fun 24/7. Like I said on the other thread, all we were missing was a little "Melody" on the cruise!

This was our best vacation trip ever. These boards help make it that way. The best tip I can give anyone reading this is to get involved on your DIS Meet Board, and schedule lots of meets. Some will come to all of the meets, some will come to a few meets. But it is great to run into friends all over the ship and ports of call! It adds to your overall experience.

I'm so glad you rebooked for next year! I hope you get a lot of the gang back together...that's quite an awesome group of DISrs you have there!

BTW -- We love dinner at Boma. The options are amazing! Hope you had a safe trip home and are recovering from all the travel.

OH! And one more thing...we heard the baby's heartbeat loud and clear for the first time this morning. It was wonderful!
