OK, since everyone else has shared theirs, here are my Wonder photos from our 2nd
Castaway Cay visit.
We were a little late getting off of the ship. I would say it was around 10:30 or so. As we left the ship, we could see another ship sailing in the distance. We took a look from the dock, and could see the distictive double smoke stacks. Could it be the Wonder? What would the Wonder be doing here?
We walk down the dock to the Tram. As we get on the tram, David from Mexico, of the cruise staff slides in with us. He asks us if we saw the Wonder. We say, yes, but we weren't sure what was going on. He says (I am not making this up), that the Wonder is going to dock at Cataway Cay today with us, for a big Christmas kick off. I question him about this-how can the island accommodate both ships, is there enough room for everyone? He insists that it is true. I don't think he was trying to pull my leg, I think he had heard this, and believed that it was true. Well, that news kind of put is in a tizzy. Isn't everything going to be packed-oh, this is going to be bad. So, we rush to get chairs on the beach, and get ready to go to the snorkling lagoon so we can beat the crowds.
As we unload our stuff on the beach, the Wonder sails by in the distance. I am still thinking that David was misinformed, so I take a photo of my DD with the Wonder in the background:
Just in case, we head out to the snorkling lagoon. As we make our way out to the shipwreck area, we see the Wonder has turned and is coming back to the island. Mrs. TCD has the camera back at the beach with DD who didn't want to snorkel. So we have no camera with us to take photos up close. The Wonder drives by the snorkeling area as close as it possbily can. We can see tons of people out on the decks, and cameras flashing. The Wonder approaches the Magic, and as we bob in the water, we are treated to a horn blowing contest!
Meanwhile, back on the beach, Mrs. TCD snaps another photo of the Wonder and DD:
The Wonder then takes off and sails away.
When we get back to the beach, I ask Mrs. TCD if she got a photo of the two ships together? She says no, why? Is it a big deal? You gotta love Mrs. TCD! So, we don't have a photo of the two ships together, but we sure did see it, and because we were out snorkeling, we had a front row seat for the horn blowing exchange.
Our cruise really was the best ever!
