Live from SSR - Internet message is confusing

We checked into SSR yesterday, went to our room, booted up the laptop and a window explaining the charges popped up. We called the front desk to confirm that we wouldn't be charged and they said that they don't know of a date yet for the Free Internet (Member website says May 4). We didn't boot up, but spoke with a DVC sales rep in the lobby who spoke with someone on the phone who said, Yes, May 4 is the day and he suggested that we just ask for a refund if we are charged.

I suppose that will be our plan. I went back to the Member website to confirm, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Any other DVC resorts more up on the free Internet?

I suspect it's going to have to be an accounting entry at checkout time anyway.

Internet services are provided by a third party (might be owned by Disney. I don't know). Remember that non-member guest rooms will STILL be charged for access so it is logical that nothing will change as far as the connection process goes.

Bear with the front desk. It will probably take them a week or two to figure it all out. There will likely be a new accounting entry for CM's to enter to wash out member charges and it will likely take a few days for everybody to learn the new procedure.

We arrived yesterday over here @ the AKV. We are using the free internet. When signing up on the disney site from the room the terms and agreements page stated that DVC members will recieve free internet access.. So we are on free right now. Any Questions ask away.

I'm hoping all this free internet will allow more people to check in and let us know how the parks are and how the resort is.. sooooo how are the crowd levels and how's the resort?

We checked in yesterday and hung around the pool from 1-4, it was pretty crowded. We had a very hard time getting two lounge chairs together. The weather was awesome though mid 80's anyway!! We had dinner reservations for the two of us at crystal palace for 5:55 P.M. We arrived at 5:45 and checked in. We were not seated until 6:20. It was very busy and they were turning people away without reservations, telling them to return maybe after 8 P.M. After dinner we walked around the park. It was very busy!! Average wait times on most rides were 45 mins. (EMH were untill 2 A.M.) This time last year was much slower. We usually come one of the first two weeks of May, and so far this definatly seems to be the busiest we have seen it. AKV is so nice!! The flat screen tv's are nice and our studio unit was very clean! So far its been all good! Very happy to be @ home on vacation Well we are off to the parks.. Any other questions please feel free to ask..

I checked out of SSR this morning and was not charged for May 3rd. Of course on May 4th it didn't work... So we may be penny wise and pound foolish. It's FREE but it's OUT OF ORDER LOL!
