DH and myself left for WDW on 3/9/05 escaping from an icy / slushy Philly.
Took Amtrak to Orlando (sleeper car) I love the train (but not coach seats).
Jack from Tiffanys was waiting for us and quickly whisked us to POR.
I had faxed a request for 1st floor in AB lodge 18 and was fortunate enough to get it.
(14 is my favorite but I knew it would be closed for rehab).
Lodge 18 has just been redone and it looks great. New curtains, bedspreads, rugs, light fixtures, etc. Now there is tile on the floor where the sinks are and a curtain to pull closed for more privacy. The toilet no longer has that stupid (IMHO) button in the middle of the tank top that you had to push to flush. I always hurt my thumb trying to push it. The refrigerator is a good size (no freezer). Also has a coffee pot and hair dryer.
So far the crowds in the parks are nonexistent. No lines or waits anywhere.
Moving to Contemporary on Sunday.
Glad to answer any questions.
