Hello all....sitting in my Poly GV concierge room....ahhhhhh
Just thought I would drop a line to the DIS. We checked in on July 15th at Pop Century. As a DVC member and deluxe only guest previously, I have to say I really loved Pop. Not liked it, loved it. It's fun...it has a phenomenal food court and gift shop, and the resort is very cute. Mind you, I would (if giving advice) recommend that families stay here when they are hitting the parks as it's not really a "place to relax"....it's loud! But seriously a GREAT value for the money. Bus service was ok....buses were full and we stood most often than not.
Checked into Poly on the 17th and asked to be upgraded from LV to GV Concierge AT COST (NO I was not going to ask for a freebie). They had a room left and I took it. We love it here. Very relaxing....we look at the quiet pool. Mousekeeping has been good. I don't particularly care for the sharing of buses with other hotels, but that's ok. I do think Poly has an advantage because of being so close to TTC. Concierge has been great. Love the lounge. Staff is nice, except for this older lady who doesn't seem to be as friendly as the others, but that's just my take. I'm not stating her name for fear of being flamed. On our first day, we walked into the building and went to ask for a schedule of service times and my husband said ALOHA! and smiled and she just stared at him like he was stupid LOL But other than her the staff is great. No, I did not ask them for a million favors to try to get my money's worth.....no requests for special PS's or special gifts in the room....I guess I'm just not the type to feel that I deserve to be treated like royalty because I'm in concierge
we just enjoy the service and our stay. I should add that the kids do tend to takeover the Poly conc lounge here. It's our first time in concierge ever but we were surprised. It doesn't really bother me but I can see where it would bother others as I have read on here.
As far as the parks go....it's rather crowded. Last year we came around the same time and it wasn't like this at all!! Also, the groups from Brazil are here (MAJOR GROAN). I have to say that these groups are driving both my husband and I, as well as many others NUTS!! I am very understanding of cultures and whatnot, however...as a foreigner in another country I would NOT take over the Fantasmic amphetheater chanting, clapping, and dirty dancing??? LOL I kid you not....these girls move their hips like I've never seen. They do it in line for the rides to....my husband is ready to scream.
Anyways, we LOVE Poly and really enjoyed Pop too....great choices!!
Any questions?

Any questions?
, hubby
, son
, and my parents
. This was not even hoppers, just basic tickets. Is it worth that? Do you think we will find a cheaper deal as the trip gets closer? Hope you are enjoying your stay! My sister, brother, and their families are headed your way Saturday.
We had to stay here and work!!!
!!!
It's great....but it's expensive. I would focus most on what you *want* for your vacation....if it's poly, then book it now and wait for a deal...just my opinion.
