Hi DISers!

I just wanted to let you know my dad (Grandpa Mohawk) and I have returned to our favorite place in the world. This is the Fall edition of our 3 week stay. This time around, we've gotten a little more high tech and have our own web blog and domain name (http://www.grandpamohawk.com). Tune in and see what we're up to today.

Here's our itinerary for this trip:

Week 1: Offsite at Marriott Grande Vista
Week 2: Boardwalk Villas for the opening of F&W and then shift over to SSR
Week 3: SSR for the remainder of the week

If you have any questions you want me to find answers to while we're here, just post them here or PM me.

Enjoy!

Great news :thumbsup2 I'll be checking in regularly; thanks for doing it :)

Good morning, BroganMc and G'pa Mohawk: your trip reports are almost (not quite but almost) as good as being there ourselves, so it was pretty exciting to wake up this morning to the beginning of your 3-week trip...have a blast twice--once for yourselves and once for us, your "fan club!"

By the way--I'm a 'computer dunce' so this may be "just me"...but the link to your blog in your post didn't work, altho the link in your signature line did work...

Once you get to SSR (I know, that's two weeks away!), would you check out/report on whatever the news on the Treehouse Villas is? We're very happy SSR owners even w/out the THVs, but are SOOOOOO excited about those THVs becoming part of our "home." Would love any scrap or tidbit of info you can throw our way!

Can't wait to hear/read about all your adventures, here and/or on your blog...hope you have a fantastic, wonderful, magical, "perfect" stay!

Hey Brogan, I can't seem to open the website :confused3 Any chance you're having "technical difficulites"?

1st problem is there's a ) in the link that shouldn't be there, but even when I take that out, it still won't open.

Looking forward to hearing about your trip:goodvibes

Looking forward to your trippie....I hope you have some pics again.

Last time I was in WDW was April...and I just missed you I think. We are arriving 10-9 to BWV then WLV..
Oh...can't get to your link either.
Kerri

Great blog - thanks!

Funny thing - I actually saw you at the SSR pool when we were there last spring (I think it was the spring trip - not too sure) and I thought to myself 'I wonder if that is BroganMc?' but was too shy to come up and say Hi. As I recall you were being very nice and patient with some little kids who had some questions for you about your wheels :thumbsup2 . If I ever see you again I promise not to be so silly about saying Hi!

Oops, sorry kiddos. DISboards was being naughty and didn't capture that url correctly. I fixed it in my original post.

I'm using some blogging software to make things easier instead of my usual big websites. So I may be tweaking the design a bit as I get the time. (I am a perfectionist.)

I'll link back to this thread for comments. Seems I have a couple hours this AM so let me see what I can update. Methinks Grande Vista deserves some photos. It is beautiful.

Rock on, BroganMc and Grandpa Mohawk! Can't wait to hear about your further adventures!

Latest update posted. Preview below:

Day 2: Waking Up at Marriott (and the engineers)
After dragging myself to bed at the wee hour of 4am, Grandpa Mohawk rudely woke me up at 9am. Seems we have a problem. We have 4 TVs and only 1 working remote. (When did we get so lazy that walking 3 feet to switch the channel was considered a major problem?)...

Checking the schedules I printed off at home it seems we have only one thing scheduled for the day: Grandpa Mohawk’s haircut at Magic Kingdom. The parade is scheduled for 3pm so our goal is to head to MK for 1pm. Until then, I’ll take the chance to show off our Grande Vista-style of Grand Villa:

Resort looks beautiful :thumbsup2

Any guesses what color Grandpa Mohawk will go with this time

So glad to see you blogging again. I do enjoy reading about your escapades with Grandpa Mohawk.

If DVC can tell you, are there plans for HA to the THV? I can just see you and Grandpa Mohawk there if they can be made accessible.

Thanks so much for giving us our Disney Fix! Can't wait until you get to SSR. I am sure you will try to gather all of the information about the treehouses that you can! We'll keep reading and enjoy your trip!:surfweb:

Glad to see you got there safe. Looking forward to more great reading to carry us through to NYE at SSR:goodvibes

Oh I've been waiting for your fall trip report ever since we returned from our trip home to SSR. My DH loved coming home and having me read your reports.

:woohoo: I loved your last trip report! I was happy to happen upon this thread so I can read along agin and see all th great pictures :cool1:

Campaign posters in the condo. Did you bring it with you or find it upon your arrival?

Glad to see the blog. Hope you have a great trip. (Wish I could go as often as you.)

I had ordered one weeks before I left, but they were backordered. On the way out of town, though, we happened upon a stand offering signs for free so we picked it up. It lives in the Foyer here because it falls over in the van. The maintenance staff loved it too though. They reported Sarah Palin had just appeared at Kissimmee Villages this weekend drawing a large crowd. Very interesting.

Yes, in our non-Disney life GM and I are political/news junkies. But I'll leave the discussion for the CB.

The latest posting is up. Here's a preview:

Day 2: (Cont..) The Weatherman lies…
Our goal was simple. Head to Magic Kingdom, buy new AP’s and head straight to the Barber Shop for Grandpa Mohawk’s mandatory haircut.

Grandpa Mohawk: Day 2 Cont...

Enjoy!
