Hi folks..this is gonna be a short report as we didnt do a whole lot yesterday since I felt like crap all day.
I woke up early to take some photos of the beautiful lodge and then I went back to bed and snuggled Rob for a couple more hours. Nothing like great cuddles to cure anything!
We made it to WCC for our 10am PS and were seated in about 10 minutes. We had a great server and we enjoyed watching all the crazy antics but the food was terrible. I might blame it on my not feeling good but Rob was feeling good and much easier to please than I and he hardly ate anything. He got the fruit plate and we both got the all you can eat skillet. They brought us the one skillet to share and we didnt even finish that.
Do ya like his fork??? LOL
We went back to the hotel and I was feeling really sick so he let me rest for several hours in hopes of feeling better for
MNSSHP later. He posted on the thread and then joined me for some rest. We woke up at 3pm and got ready for the party. Unfortunately, I was not feeling better but I knew that my sweetheart really wanted to go so I did my best to suck it up and do my best. We took the boat to the MK, got there by 5pm-ish and got some hot dogs at Caseys.
We walked around for a bit and then headed over to Liberty Square to ride Haunted Mansion, which to our disappointment, was closed! Walked over and did Pirates and then got Rob a dole whip float, which is one of his faves!
We watched the Villains Mix & Mingle show and found a spot for the 8pm parade.
We loved the parade! Glad we went to the early one though! We went to see if the Mansion was open yet but it wasnt.
Got a fruit smoothie in hopes of it soothes my throat but that didnt work. Every time I swallow, it feels like I am swallowing a cactus. It hurts so bad.
We found a spot for Hallowishes, man what a great show that is! Walked over one last time to check on the Mansion and it was open!! YAY! How could you NOT ride the Haunted Mansion on Halloween night???
By then, Rob was starting to lose his voice too and his throat was hurting too so we went straight back to the lodge, got some food and passed out.
Rob was up at 5 am with a VERY sore throat and I had another coughing fit at 6am.
We both will be going to the doctor on Thursday. If we were at home, I would have been to the doctor already and I HATE going to the doctor and try to avoid it as much as possible, so that shows you just how crappy I feel right now. I am just glad we are going home tomorrow. I really hate being in my favourite place on earth and feeling so crappy that its hard to enjoy it.
I know that some of you will think that you would rather be in WDW and sick than at home and healthy but I am sure this is more than a cold and it really hurts. I am still very appreciative and lucky to be here, especially at the WL but right now I just want to go home. Weve cancelled our day today, we were supposed to go to Typhoon Lagoon and then Pleasure Island but neither of us are in shape to be doing either.
Weve decided that if and when we cruise again, we will be going home the day we leave the ship! Rob never got sick on vacation until we started cruising and since then he has been sick on every cruise now. I know its a chance you take when you get on a ship with a couple thousand people.
And just so you know, we did everything we could to prevent it. Although you only see Rob eating ice cream, hes also a HUGE fruit and veggie lover too and hasnt been eating just junk food. Weve been taking vitamins, Echinacea, Cold F/X for weeks before the cruise and until he got sick we were drinking 4 or 5 bottles of water every day in between meals. We washed our hands about 7 millions times a day (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration there) and we never touched the hand railings while on the cruise.
Oh and Rob doesnt eat ice cream like this at home, but hes on vacation and part of the appeal of a WDW vacation is such great ice cream. And we ALL have our weaknesses
some like fatty foods, some like carbs (that would be me!) some like the sweet stuff, so give him a break, hes on VACATION!!!!!!
Thanks again for following us this whole trip, for all your wonderful well wishes, pixie dust and prayers, they really mean a lot to us! Ive known for many years how great DISers are but Rob really saw it for the first time himself during this trip by reading all your great replies.
Thanks to Pete Werner for making all of this possible! Imagine, this all started with a one-page thread index! What a great community you have created!
This will probably be our last Live from Disney post as we wont be doing anything today and will be flying back home tomorrow at 5pm.
I will, however, post on this thread when I have some updates to my website done.
Weve had a fabulous Dream vacation and despite being ill, I am so glad we did it! We are blessed to have been able to do everything we have done this trip and Im glad you could all share in our crazy adventures.
A special thank you to my amazingly incredible husband Robert. You have made every single second of this trip fun, memorable and crazy! You were such a trooper posing for silly photos for me, being incredibly patient while I took thousands of photos and video and for giving other people (whether it be other DISers, the kids you spoke "piratey" to or all the CM's you personally thanked for doing a great job) a reason to smile. You truly are a shining star sweetheart. Thanks for all the foot rubs, cuddles and so many special moments...I can't wait to start a family with you so you can share all the wonderful things that you are with our kids. I love you..always and forever!
