Wed 11/7....again, just a couple quick notes for those interested....

Started the day at AK. Sorry, folks, just wasn't my family's cup of tea. We spent 5 hours there. The safari ride was great, and so was "Its Tough to be a Bug" movie, but the rest just didn't do it for us. The crowds were what I would call moderate. We took the monorail to MK and spent a few more hours there and then took to monorail to Epcot to watch the fireworks. Both parks were fairly crowded. The wait for many of the rides at MK was 35-45 minutes, after the 3pm parade was finished. We had already seen the parade on Monday so we took advantage of the time slot to get in a few extra rides while others were watching the parade and the ride lines were short. Epcot was a bit less crowded than the previous day. There was some waiting, but really nothing excessive. I'd say 10-20 minutes on average, except for the Test Track. Again, I can't say I see any negative effect of the "cutbacks". All the attractions were open, albeit the park hours might be a bit shorter than normal.

Interesting....there were a lot of British-sounding folks at the parks the past three days. Is there some sort of holiday going on?

Onward to MGM !! :bounce:

Glad to hear that the crowds seem to be picking up a little. A nice day for all. Thanks for posting!

I also noticed quite a bit of European travelers in WDW. Since we have never been before I had just assumed this was normal until I overheard a couple of gentlemen talking, in line behind me, that they couldn't believe that airfare was so inexpensive. They did say that they thought it was because of the drop in travel do to the war and that many Europeans seemed to be taking advantage of the cheap fares.

Yes, in England there is a school break sometime in the Oct-Nov time frame.

According to my friend in England when I asked him why there were fireworks on November 5...
"There was an attempt to blow up King James and the Houses of Parliament
(other wise called the Palace of Westminster, the seat of British
government) and it is a well known story here"
He gave this link for more information:

Thanks for the report. At least you gave AK a chance. My first trip, we didn't even bother going there!! Now we go everytime. :)
