We checked in yesterday, Wishes was shot off even in the rain which we watched from our balcony! (we got MK side, luck of the draw!!!) Concierge staff is AMAZING!

Any questions let me know!

Hello Kandeebunny,

Congrats on the Tower view! We will be in the Tower Club this December and I have a couple of questions for you.

How are the refurbed rooms? Are they as nice as the pictures from allearsnet?

Is there a lounge and where is it located?

Thanks

If she is in the Tower Club then that is the 14th floor and they are not remodeled yet. The Atrium Club is the one on the 10th floor right now and they rooms are remodeled.

It sounds to me like it is the tower club that used to be on the 12th floor as she said she is on the "MK side - luck of the draw". When you book 14th floor, you know what side you will be facing.

I am very curious about the rehabed rooms, too. Fill us in on all of the details!

Hope you're having a great time!

We are on the 12th floor, they are the old rooms. As of Sept. 12th the 12th floor tower club will become the 10th floor atrium club as the 12th floor will be getting remodeled.

The lounge is actually right down the hall from us (by the elevators), some tables, snack and breakfast offerings until 4pm and the concierge is on until 10. Everyone has been awesome!

Also it is VERY quiet where we are...no noise complaints from me we don't even hear the monorail go through, let alone Chef Mickey's!

I booked for the 14th floor for Sept 25th and they told me they didn'y know which room we would be getting yet. Are you sure you know what side you'll be on ahead of time?

Well, I am pretty sure. I may be wrong, but we booked a MK suite. I know there are only 4 or 5 regular rooms on the 14th floor. One or two are handicapped and one or two have king beds the others have queens. - not sure how many of each on Bay or MK side....I am pretty sure CRO can give you a letter code that will tell you which side your booked room will be facing.

We had a mixup with CRO when I booked 14th floor - we are a family of 5 (needed connecting rooms) and they booked us rooms that turned out to be across the hall from eachother! They figured that out on my second or third call (I had read something on the DIS that led me to believe they were making a mistake) and I had to book the suite because they couldn't get me two rooms together that would connect. They weren't available. From that whole problem, I really think they must know specifically which rooms they're booking.

I would call CRO and double check. If you get someone that is clueless, hang up and call until you get a knowledgeable person. I had SUCH a problem trying to book that 14th floor.

Good luck & have a great trip!

LIVES4DISNEY,
Thanks for the heads up. When I first booked this room I was told by the CM that I was guaranteed a MK view. Well after being on DIS I called back and was told they weren't sure where I was yet but I REQUESTED MK view. From the DIS I've learned that there is 1 room with queen beds with Bay view. I think maybe now I'll do a f/u call. Thanks again.

As someone who worked in CRO up until 2 weeks ago, no, we can't see what rooms you are getting. What *might* have happened is: when you asked for two rooms, two were not available (we have no idea where the resort would put you. We do not assign specific rooms; only rooms in the resort). Only 1 was available for the time frame you were looking for. Or, it could have been a system problem. The system Disney uses for reservations is archaic and full of problems. I had heard that they would probably be updating it in the spring and IBM had won the contest as to who would get to make it better. But, none of that was confirmed before I left.

Again, just to be clear, CRO has NO IDEA where your room(s) will be located in ANY of the resorts. You can make requests out the wazoo, but they are requests and not guarantees. There are a few things that can be guaranteed like non-smoking (must give a reason related to health issues) or connecting rooms (MUST be because you ONLY have 2 adults and more than 2 or 3 children in the party {depending on the resort}).

There are a few more things that can be guaranteed, but most of them would be due to a physical impairment that would require us to get with special services who block those items off, not CRO. Hope that helped! :)

Thanks for the info. I do know that I booked 2 rooms(that were supposed to be connecting due to our family of 5) on the 14th floor and they wound up across from eachother. From being on the DIS, I found out something - don't even remember what - that clued me in that the rooms I booked could be a problem (not connecting, but across from eachother) I THINK they know about the 14th floor because there are only 5 or 6 regular rooms that aren't suites. I THINK the rooms facing the MK are both king rooms and that may be why it didn't work out for me as we are a family of 5. There is a chart of the 14th floor floor plan out there on the DIS somewhere. It shows the king/queen rooms and HC rooms and it is slim pickins. You can kind of figure out where you will be just by the process of elimination.

Good luck - Hope you get that MK view! :wizard:
