First of all let me reconfirm that internet is not free. And a word to the wise: if you need to do any extensive typing: work off-line and then paste. I just lost a long e-mail when connection failed.
We left -14° and -35° wind-chill in Mpls. yesterday. High in Orlando yesterday was 79°. Got to love winter DVC vacations.
Used the kiosk to pick up our Alamo rental car. Slick. Took 5 minutes. By the time we went back upstairs to the baggage claim, one of our suitcases was already on the carrousel. We are still bringing things for our Owners Locker, so, hopefully, it will soon be one suitcase.
Our room was not ready at 1:30 PM, so went to Publix and by then it was ready ahead of schedule! Owners Locker was waiting, as always. We requested upper floor and got the perfect room: 5041, right over the store and also pretty close to the elevator. Spectacular view of Epcot fireworks last night. Room was in great shape. Stopped by on second floor to say hello to our favorite mousekeeper.
We booked a 2 bedroom at OKW for our former neighbors and their 5 kids, who now live in Tampa. SInce we had bought them Florida passes last March when they stayed with us, it was a chance for them to get in 3 more days before they expire. They are Cambodian and packed all the fixin’s and cookware for our favorite ethnic dishes. We ate in their villa last night and will do so tonight as well. While it would have been nice to have them closer to us at BWV, the extra space in the OKW 2 bedroom is just indispensable with a large family.
Since the weather will be cool (58° today, 68° tomorrow and windy), we will probably do little at the parks until Tuesday. Our friends will commando and we will relax! Since the Luna pool is closed, we may check out SAB when the weather warms again starting on Tues.
One more note: I went to buy refillable mugs at the Bakery. I thought I had read that there is a self-serve refill station there now, but I remembered wrong. And the line there is always long and understaffed. Since the pool refill station is closed, the Spoodles pizza window is about the only viable option unless Belle Vue happens to be open. Boardwalk Joe’s MAY be an option, but it has short hours. I’ll probably not buy the mugs until I find out whether I can use them at SAB pool while Luna is closed, even though we are BWV, not BCV, guests. Seems like it should be okay to me, but rules seem to be changing fast these days!
Until later...
