We arrived last Sunday and have had a great time despite the temps. Until today, it was sunny and bright. On Wednesday morning, it was so cold and windy that Dunes Cove pool was closed!:scared1: It had opened again by the time we returned from lunch.

We have a 2 BR lockoff. All three TVs are flatscreen but armoires are the same. As someone else posted, the remotes are truly the pits. Very slow and sometimes don't respond without multiple tries. I had forgotten that the pattern on the banquette had been changed. The pattern on the living room couch is completely different now, too. I was never a fan of the old pattern so this is a very nice change in my opinion.

iHomes in both BRs are a nice new touch as well.

We haven't stayed at BCV since March so I was pleasantly surprised to see how much the trees had grown. It is noticeable to me both along the edge of the parking lot and at the exit by Ariel.

Our second BR which is a lockoff doesn't have a DVD player....didn't they use to have those in studios? I called housekeeping and they told me no.:confused3

CMs have been wonderful as always. Marie and Vanessa in the Marketplace are as friendly as ever. There is another wonderful lady there who remembers how I like my yogurt parfaits...I need to learn her name. Mark is funny and helpful there as well. I had a chance to visit with Teena the Terrific on Monday and actually saw Art (not in uniform of course) one morning but didn't want to interrupt his retirement. It was fun to see the other CMs light up when they saw him. He must have been as friendly to all of them as he was to guests.

Anyone running in the next two days, good luck.:grouphug:

There is a chance of sleet tomorrow!

Could you please tell me what flavors of gelato they're serving in the BC Marketplace these days?

Hi Simba's Mom!:wave2: I'll be glad to check tomorrow. My daughter hasn't gotten gelato this trip as I ordered cakes at both California Grill and Citricos. Lots of leftover cake in the villa. :cake:

Do you remember if the studios had DVD players in the past?

Are those the worst remotes in the world or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who do we complain to they are that bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our remotes at BWV are "super powerful!"

We are in one of the newly redone rooms at the Boardwalk. If the connecting doors are open to the studio (we're in a two bedroom) if you click the remote on in the living room, the television that's around the corner in the studio also comes on. It's hilarious!

I am contemplating buying a universal remote for our OL. That's how bad they are.:scared1:

I guess I don't remember too well. What's wrong with the remotes? I've stayed at BCV many times (all studios) and most recently in October. I don't remember anything bad about the remotes.

Hi, BCV23, I have another question. Are they still doing the movies on the beach? And in light of the cold in Florida, on cold nights, are they still doing them out on the beach or have they smartened up and moved them into the Solarium? I remember a night in October that was really cold, but they still held the movie outside. I filled my refillable mug with hot cocoa, grabbed all the big towels in my room, and hunkered down out there. And that was when the night temp was in the 40s. I bet it gets colder these days!

Hi Simba's Mom:

We stayed at AKV this week.

Earlier in the week, (the night we were at Cape May) they moved the movie on the beach to the solarium. I don't know about the rest of the week.

It has been sooo cold... Brrr..

We decided to go ahead and watch THE BIG GAME at ESPN instead of the Solarium because of it.

ROLL TIDE!

Mickey'sApprentice, thanks for answering that as I didn't know. Didn't walk by there in the evening. Congratulations on the championship BTW.:cheer2:

Simba'sMom, the gelato wasn't out this morning when I was there but the labels said lemon, raspberry, mango, chocolate, sugar free chocolate and cookies and cream.

We've stayed here many times as well and this is the first time we've had trouble with the remotes.....all four were bad. Really, really bad as DISNEYFIX said. A small thing on a great trip at a resort we love but very irritating.

mjy, that is funny. I'm envious.

Thanks! I was teasing Simba's Mom a little bit...because I know she is from TX. We really enjoyed watching the game Thursday night.

Hey, that's OK. We'd love to be Alabamians (sp) some day. DH wasn't too popular among his coworkers-he was the only one rooting for Alabama. He has an Alabama Tide ballmarker for golf and his golfing buddies won't let himuse it for their golfballs!
I'm glad to hear BCV has smartened up about showing movies on cold nights. BCV23, it sounds like the gelato flavors aren't changing anymore. For a while, there were different flavors all the time. I just wish they'd bring back Pistacchio.

We stayed in a BCV studio in December and it had a DVD player. It was a dedicated studio though!

That doesn't sound correct. I wish I could remember for certain what our lockoff had last year but I thought it had a DVD. Anyway - since a lockoff is a 1BR and Studio and the studios are supposed to have DVD's then I think it ought to have one. I'd call maintenance rather than housekeeping.

It acted like the batteries were on the way out but it was the same for both remotes in our one bed room. There was about a 10 second delay when trying to switch any channels and/ or volume when you try to put on the weather in the morning without waking everyone up it was a real pain because sometimes it would work or not, you wouldn't know with a long delay. Picky I know but it is a little silly to be happening to a bunch of relatively new tv. Someone was asleep at the switch installing these.
WVL remotes vvery simple and worked great/timely.
I'm done acting like a ninny.:goodvibes

Thanks for the BCV update. I hope it warms up for you for the rest of the trip. I'm trying to remember about the DVD player but can't, sorry.

If all the cake in the room is due to a birthday, wish your daughter, or whoever it is, a very magical birthday!!:wizard:

The studios at BCV most DEFINITELY had dvd players. DH and I stayed there a few times last year, most recently in September, and our favorite thing to do is stop and pick up a movie on our way back from the parks. We did this almost every night of our vacations, and we always stay in studios. Not sure why your lock off doesn't have one, but they should bring a player up for you!

Hi there BCV23 :) Hope you have a wonderful trip. I am looking forward to reading your updates. BTW, what's your view. Just curious. :flower3:

I share your curiosity. And now I understand about the remotes. Since I was solo, I wasn't concerned about waking anyone else up. However, I can certainly understand now how they can be a bit of a PITA for those who have sleeping family.

We were in a dedicated studio for Fri and Sat night and we did have a DVD player. Our unit had recently been rehabed and looked great!
