Yes, the 1BR does have a washer and dryer. As far as computer access, there is a port in the BR at the desk to plug your laptop in if you want internet access.

Not if you are a DVC member staying there on pints. That is how I did the "live" part of the report. It was easy to set up and fast.

The washer and dryer really helped. We came home with just about everything clean!

I agree with this. When we were there in Dec, I asked if our value room had a savannah view and the CM said no, that would be an upgrade. I explained to her that values had the opportunity for parking lot, pool or savannah but she never got it. We had a parking lot which was fine, but I don't know if that is because the others were ful or she didn't believe me. Guess we will see what happens this Sunday and if we have better luck.

Thanks for the info, we just booked a 1BR savanna view for March and love all your info. We were warned that one of the savanna's will be emptied of animals around that time. Hopefully we can get a room where we won't be affected. I'm sure my wife will bring her laptop. I'll just need to remember the cables.

Ed, that was a wonderful trip report. I truly enjoyed visiting AKL thru your thread and pics. I agree with you, I am glad we purchase AKL although our first visit probably won't be until 2010!

I have banked my "08" points because we are going to try to get a GV in December 09 so our kids can all come down and stay with us for a few days. I want to stay at AKV so bad, but I told myself we won't stay there until our big trip in a GV. Just hope I can get it with the new booking rules. I want Wednesday through Saturday and I am afraid it will be hard to get the Wednesday and Thursday nights. Will just have to wait and see. Again, thanks for the great report!

Good luck getting that GV! For Dec. 09, all of the GVs in Kidani should be open along with the ones in Jambo. You might be pleasantly surprised and get one.

And one more first that I forgot:

We used Garden Grocer for the first time. It worked very well. We had one issue which was that they delivered one wrong item. I called them and they had the correct item at bell services the next day.

We will definitely use them again.

You mentioned in your first post that the view is of the roof of Boma. If you have time to post one, a photo of your view would be interesting to see. Can you see the pool area at all?

These are great photos! I love the lighter wood on the new headboard and dresser. I've always thought the rooms might appear a little dark with all the dark wood but then it would be great for relaxing. I am considering buying into DVC (they called me this weekend with a great pricing, lots of incentives for AKL but I was hoping more for BWV. Now that I've thought it over, I can't pass up on this deal!).
