is there anyway of getting some little plushes/toys put in the room for when we arrive? we've got 5 kids on their first ever (and possibly only) trip to Disney so would love to be able to do some little things like this to make it extra special? (obviously willing to pay whatever for it more just wondering if it's possible and if it is how I would go about it?)

also any ideas what other things we could do to make their trip super special?

TIA xxx

Try calling/mailing the hotel you are staying at? Every hotel on site has a gift shop.

We have always found that Disney will go out of their way to make things Magical. Give the hotel a call and make the request. They had baskets you could purchase last year to be delivered to your room. They were a little pricey but may be what you are looking for.

Oh, here's my tip and what I did for our first family trip.
First off, don't go through Disney. They charge LOADS! Take a trip to the Disney Store and buy the things you want to surprise them with.
Secondly, when you check in, just you do it. Let the others look around the hotel and leave the baggage with them.....but YOU take the suitcase containing all the goodies, collect your room keys and go to 'check out the room'.
Arrange your gifts, assemble the troops and let them find the gifts awaiting them :-)

That way you know it's done and how you want it ;-)

I second this idea!! Try Claires accessories and pound shops for activity books, good bags and Disney snacks. You could also make up some bits yourself. You can make requests on the Creative Dis boards - maybe request name fills or mickey heads with names, then buy iron on transfer paper (Tesco I think - Aldi had them lately) and you could make personalised tshirts / matching tshirts / family themed tshirts or bags etc.

Are you driving? I got my daughter a giant mini at cosco for 20$ also they have Mickey but I had found a HUGE one for 5$ at a sale new with tags I'm putting them in a huge suitcase and driving them down I made sighns for them to hold welcoming my kids to Disney. I asked friends if they had a cosco account gave them $ they p/u for me. I'll try to post a pic

Also this is our first time too and prob our only ever so I'm doing everything I can and on a budget I can't imagine with 5 kids.
If your going to Epcot we are doing the pearls (15$)in Japan you pic an oyster they open it there's your special pearl they sell kneckless cages there I here they are pricey so I went on eBay I found my daughter a Cinderella carriage kneckless cage for around 7$ and my 13 year old son who I was like " he won't we're a kneckless with a pearl" his astrology sign in a cage form . 7$.I got her a pretty princess box to put it in and him a small masculine box . The morning we go to Epcot it will be there next to there bed side from " tinkerbell" I could go on and on every day tink has something for them. but this is my fav thing I can't wait to give them.

Are you staying on site I stayed at hotel New York in may and there was Mickey waiting on the bed for my son

We once had a Goofy at HNY waiting for us, but I this might have been because I emailed and said it was my daughter's birthday. Every other visit there hasn't been anything.

I think the most cost effective way would be what Lisa said. I've heard that some really high prices can be charged for Disney doing this for you. Alternatively, you could give them all some Euros, and ask them to choose a plush each from the hotel shop.

Hope you all have a fun time :)

Thanks for the ideas. Tbh the cost isn't the be all and end all as we have managed to get the trip very cheap and I would like the plushes to be waiting for us so think I will email the hotel. How far in advance could I email do you think??

So I have been emailing the concierge at the SF and thus far have not got too far due to some confusion over wording, I fear it was the fault of poorly translated French but never mind. Thus far it transpired that they are unable (not willing) to accommodate my specific request and instead can only offer standard packages. Whilst the standard packages sound lovely they're not exactly what I wanted and I find myself a little disappointed that a company like Disney doesn't seem particularly keen to go the extra mile for its guests. Has anyone ever been able to arrange personal items for their rooms or only ever get the 'standard' package? Am now considering whether to go for the packages offered or sort it myself, am awaiting a further response from the hotel!

I'm with Lisa and Julie and recommend you do this yourself (post #5). I wouldn't trust it to be arranged through DLP, I know this sort of request is common in the US but not so much at DLP and I wouldn't want to risk it not happening as you'd like. If you DIY you'll know it'll be done exactly how you'd like it, you can also personalise everything to the individual child and you'll save a fair few euros too!

Right I've decided just to sort it out myself as it seems not only cheaper but like I will actually be able to make it special by themeing it for each of the kids. Thanks for everyone's help now I just need to find some lady and the tramp stuff :confused3
