Little Ones Magic Hour

What's so bad about coming to watch the fun and enjoyment the characters bring to little ones? My DD, although not a toddler any more would enjoy just seeing all the characters interact, sing and dance. :)

Nothing's bad about that at all! But you know if word gets out, adults will be lined up overrunning the place with their autograph books, ECV's, pin lanyards, cigarettes, yards of beer... :rotfl:

Your mom called and told you about a friend who said...

This is fast turning into an "Urban Legend."

"This really happened! I heard it from my...
brother, friend, sister-in-law, piano teacher, dog-trainer, Lamaze coach, tree surgeon, etc."

Ok Smarty pants :confused3 Let make myself a little more specific.

My friend is the "mom" I was referring too. So let me rephrase by saying

My best friend and her family with two boys ages 10 and 13 were not allowed to enter until 9am. They were told this is for families to enjoy with young children.

She is their mom - I wasn't referring to my mom !! :lmao:

and refillable mugs :smokin: :woohoo: :teeth:

My thing with adults and older children going is that eventually this event will get out and the lines will get long and over run by people who Disney originally didn't intend to attend this event.

I'm glad Disney is enforcing the under 5 rule . I hope it continues.

I believe the person in this post was refering to her friend who is the older childern's mom. Remember PIXIE DUST.
My friend (down last week) was told that it's perment by one CM's but we'll see.

Well, in my OPINION, I am glad to hear that Disney is enforcing this for families with toddlers. I will be there next week with my 1 & 2 year olds.

I was stating that I understood what she meant with the Mom comment. If a brochure is being handed out saying 5 and under at check-in then it is possible for this to have happened.
Then I said my friend was down last week asked if this was a new thing temporally or permanent and was told it was permanent. Which I don't think Disney has made a decision on. Sorry it's late and I leave words out regularlly being tired doesn't help  Remember to be be nice is what I meant by the pixie dust :wizard: comment.

Anything I've seen in print, on the WDW website, or that has been posted on this site says that this EMH is open to Guests of a WDW Resort and that it is marketed to those under the age of 6 - not toddlers, but 'little ones'. That man should have asked for written proof that it was for toddlers and parents only. I'd be interested to see what would have happened. This is the first time I've ever heard of someone not being admitted.

So is it only for Disney resort guests ???

From what I've seen in print, it's a marketing ploy for onsite guests only. Haven't seen anything in print about it being for a certain age, just suggestions for 'children of a certain age' - previous threads mention that everyone has been let in, regardless of age, as long as they have a resort key.

If someone has the info, in print, that states that a child must be under a certain age, please feel free to scan it and show us?

I have read a few Disers posts that have received a brochure about the Little Ones EMH when they checked in and they said it stated in the brochure that it was for resort guests with children 5 & under. I will be there next week and if I get this brocure I will be sure to scan & post it and report back what I find out when I return home.

I think it would be awesome if Disney kept the Litttle Ones EMH on the schedule permanantly!!!!!

Lisa, I'll be at the Friday (the 22nd) one with my three-year-old. I'll wear my green Tinkerbell shirt - come find me if you are there!

I assume that my 6 year old will also be able to attend with my 4 year old. Correct? I can't imagine making her sit on the sidelines. My kids are tall and I am sure that I will get some questioning looks from people that think my 4 year old does not belong.

I hope they continue to do this in October!

It would not be a "sitting on the sidelines" situation.

If you bring a "child" who is outside of the "window" age, your party would not be admitted (or at least one adult would have to stay outside the gates with the "old" kid until regular opening time.)

BUT:

1) Who is to say how old your child is in the first place?

2) I doubt that a 6-year-old would be a problem, but what about 8 or 10?

3) Where is this information avaliable to guests making WDW plans?

I can not imagine that Disney would exclude my older child and one parent from entering and allow my 4 year old and one parent to enter. I would HOPE this is an all or nothing deal. I know many families that have kids much farther apart in age that and I would hope they would all be allowed to enjoy this event together as a family.

Sooooo - I did not mean to get anyone upset. This letting the little ones meet the characters with less crowds sounds like a really cool thing. But I see on the disney site that it looks like it will end after September. Does anyone know if Disney has said it will be extended? Especially when MK is starting to close earlier. I am just trying to get more MK time with my 2-year old grandson and the Halloween party is not an answer. He is scared of scary.

For what it's worth ...

I went to the Magic Kingdom by myself on Sunday, August 20. I stayed at the All-Star Sports, and saw the Extra Magic Hours sign posted at the bus stop that morning, and thought someone had forgotten to take it down. I had forgotten about the Little Ones EMH. I had planned on getting to the park early, around 8:15/8:30 and just waiting in line with everyone else. Imagine my surprise when I got there, seeing the park already open. They let me in, no questions asked. There was no one around me in line, so they couldn't have thought I was with anyone. I ended up just walking around Main St, soaking in the atmosphere. Then I went to the rope barrier for Tomorrowland, waiting for Space Mountain.

Like I said, just my experience for what it's worth. (Ok, probably not much.)

We definately plan on being there Fri the 22nd (and at MNSSHP that night) I will certainly look for you!!! My DH is 6'6" so look for the tall skinny guy with the 'pooh' sized wife with a 2 yr old girl and 1 yr old boy (who doesn't walk yet so he will either be in the stroller or our arms) It would be great to meet another Diser!!!!
