Little Mermaid Special FP

We need a DVC member to call & inquire....then report back. I thought the DVC members got the same perks....but don't quote me on that!!

I understand the frustration of the line being even slower due to a FP line.......I think they're testing the waters to see if added perks will get people to stay on site. The line is going to be looooooong already.....it may affect it a bit, but they do only get 2 FP's each & I would think that not all of them would show up at the same time.....lol

I'm with you that it's not enough to justify paying 3 times what we'd pay across the street......but if they starting adding in more perks for resort stays...it might put enough "bang in my buck" to pay it.

Usually we do get the same perks and more (like the dining discounts) so I bet we get these. I'll let you know - we're checking in on June 3rd!

Yes..please report back! We'll be there after the Expo and doing the parks when the So Cal APs go off being blocked, so a fastpass would sure help out.

Ok I got really excited about this, but now I'm worried. We are checking in on the 2nd, and staying 5 nights. Do you think we'll still get the Fastpasses? I'll be really really bummed if because we checked in a night early we don't.

Ok I am DVC and just called the Grand and the hotel operator had no idea what I was talking about so he checked and the response was....yes they should apply to DVC members as well.

If anyone hears anything different please respond.

You'll get in right at the end Sarah.....that's awesome!!

Yep, I'll be there for the Half Marathon. :thumbsup2

We've never stayed on site before due to the cost but since the start and finish of the race are right by the PPH and there will be 3 of us splitting the cost and the fact that we got a discount due to running the 1/2 Marathon :rotfl: we decided to stay there. :rotfl:

I spoke to the desk at Paradise Pier and they also didn't know anything about the FP offer. I'm checking in on the 2nd so fingers crossed the offer extends to me as well!

It's possible that the people at the front desk aren't aware of this yet, but karylrocks/Carol is a travel agent & she received the same notification I found on facebook & originally started the thread with. I would hope people that are already checked in BUT are staying when the promo begins would be able to get their 2 free FP's at the front desk. Hopefully calling back & speaking with mgmt would clear that up.

I wonder about us, we are checking into the PPH for 6 nights, but starting May 30th...I hope it still applies to us since we will be there through the 5th! ;)

We are checking in on June 1st but staying through the 4th. We were told we would *not* be getting the fastpasses. Disney confirmed that it was only being made available to guests checking in within that time period starting June 3rd. I was pretty bummed about this. So, my plan is to line up early for rope drop and head straight to Little Mermaid instead of TSMM.

:headache: That's a real bummer for those hoping to get this perk!! Thank you for letting us know!

Is it possible to split your reservation, having a separate reservation that starts after June 3rd. I don't know if this is an option at DL but has worked at times at WDW. It's also a bit inconvenient because you need to check out a and check back in again.

I just heard from a hotel operator at Paradise Pier that the Little Mermaid attraction will be open 30 minutes early to hotel guests only starting on June 4th. Woo Hoo!

Very cool. We're on property twice during that time period with our DVC points. I did print out the website just in case. We've been on Ariel and it's an amazing attraction, I'm sure we'll use ours for it. I think they should always do this for people staying on property, its a great promotion!

Do you think the second pass could be used for World of Color?

No.

WoC uses the term Fast Pass but it's not really a FP attraction. It just uses a FP distribution system, and the same terminology. But WoC uses a very non standard FP. Other FP tickets are no good for WoC, even the special "any attraction" ones.
