Little League title taken away

I see now they are going to file a lawsuit. Cheat, and file a lawsuit. Sounds about right. One of the moms was on the news and she said this always happens to AA. Something good happens and people can't handle it their success so they try and tear them down. I am paraphrasing there but that was the gist of it.

What is interesting to me, is that the leagues that lost kids to JRW knew it but didn't say anything. They didn't want to make waves and they "let it go".

The more I think about this part, the angrier that makes me. As the adults in this situation, it was their job to report any cheating they were aware of. Didn't want to make waves? Well look how that turned out. They did the kids on their own teams a disservice by not "making waves"

Expecting the rules to be enforced equally should not be considered making waves. Especially in a situation like this, where half of the point of sports is helping kids learn how to play within rules, be good sports, don't be sore losers, etc. When the adults in charge of a team won't stand up for their own players and ask for cheating to be investigated, what message does that send the kids? Just roll over and accept that others cheat so that you aren't accused of making waves?

Seems like a LOT of adults in this situation made poor choices.

Maybe no one wanted to be the one to turn them and get called a racist for their trouble. Because that's exactly what happened.

Sometimes doing the right thing isn't easy. I still think the adults had a responsiblity to do the right thing. I highly doubt they would have faced the same level of backlash if they'd called for an investigation before the season started when the registrations were occurring. Having someone else bring it up only after the team won surely contributed significantly to the response from the mayor and others.

I'd have reported them, but that's me. It was predictable that reporting them would result in cries of racism. These days, that can turn very ugly.

They are saying that the publicity led to lots of people boasting about certain players on social media which brought more attention to where they actually live and more proof to what the EP coach had been claiming. Just today I saw the suburbs of Homewood, South Holland, Lynwood, Lansing and Dolton listed as hometowns of the players. That is such a stretch it isn't even funny. None of these suburbs are close to chicago and none are recognized as extensions of Chicago. Dolton is probably the closest suburb to Chicago and then South Holland, but neither is recognized as an area where city workers can live so I don't see how it could be acceptable in the boundaries for LL(but probably the only ones I have listed where they even have a shot of saying oops it was so close we didn't know). Lynwood and Lansing are on the boarders of Indiana and Homewood isn't even close to a boarder of Chicago. All three of those are so far out of the realm of reasonable it is laughable that they could have a leg to even stand on if it is accurate and some of their players came from any of those suburbs. I do have to say in those instances I'm not even sure the kids to could claim ignorance, but I guess anything is possible.

Unflattering truth - lawyer for Jackie Robinson West suspects that residency information about players and their families may have been illegally obtained and/or shared. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/03/04/jrw-attorney-calls-for-probe-into-whistle-blower-chris-janes/
Excuse me if I can't get distraught over this. The team cheated. Period. It does not change a thing whether the whistleblower is as pure as snow or as evil as they come. The team cheated. One more time. The team cheated. They decided they would break the rules everyone else had to follow. Maybe they did it because they thought they were above the rules. Maybe it was because they knew they couldn't be competitive unless they cheated. Whatever the motivation, they cheated. It truly is that simple. They cheated and deserved to be stripped of the title.

Unflattering truth - Evergreen Park's whistleblower coach was arrested for assault. http://www.chicagotribune.com/subur...ta-janes-arrested-st-0304-20150303-story.html

JRW coaches encouraged kids from different neighborhoods, and possibly towns, to cooperate for a greater good. EP's coach is modeling violence. I can tell you which I'd trust with my son.

Oh em gee!!!! Earth shattering revelations which will certainly lead to the title being restored!!! Justice will prevail!!!

Maybe LL all star teams are different but I have rarely seen that much difference in players abilities at the world series.
His skills were used unfairly yes but he earned the runs he scored or the outs he made.

All I was ever saying is that I feel for the kids because they played ball and adults screwed them out of it all. The players on this team and any team in the world series

Well, JRW must have thought certain players in another district had way more ability that players in their own district - they resorted to cheating to get them.
