We're staying at HoJo Anaheim next week and I have a few questions. :santa:

*Is there a room safe?

*Do they provide shampoo & conditioner in seperate bottles? DD11 and I both have long hair and the combo stuff just doesn't work for us.

*A blowdryer?

*Are the standard KING rooms in a certain building?

*How long does it really take to walk to DLR?

*Did you ever, after a whole day at the parks, feel like riding the bus back to HoJo?

Thanks!!

I've heard there's a room safe in every room (I think the website says that; we've been there twice, in two different rooms, and there's always been a safe).

Yes, shampoo and conditioner are in separate bottles. You will smell like a Creamsicle, though (orange shampoo and vanilla-ish conditioner :) ).

I reckon they all have blowdryers; we are in a room that has one and it's the lowest price level of rooms.

I don't know about the king rooms.

I haven't timed it but I think 8 minutes is about right; maybe 10. It's pretty much like walking from DCA to Toontown, I reckon.

I've never yet really felt like riding the bus to HoJo. Once in summer, my feet were tired so I kind of didn't feel like walking so much, but I did anyway, and it wasn't really an issue. (This was a summer day and we'd been taking afternoon breaks each and every day, so by that point we'd done the walk like 8 or 9 round trips, and also pushed ourselves to do all the rides in the parks a lot of times in the most efficient manner possible, which also means a lot of walking.)

My mom, however, has fibromyalgia and she found that taking ART to and from the parks is helpful, even if the shuttles are pretty slow.

This trip, we've taken it more leisurely (the crowds have allowed us to do so!) and haven't taken any afternoon breaks. We left the parks sometime between 10 and 10:30 last night, after spending a bit over 14 hours in them, and while walking home in the rain with damp socks wasn't the most fun I've ever had, we were fine. :)

(Though, if it's pouring down rain again today when we leave, it might be tempting to take the ART, I'll grant you that. :) )

Thanks for your answers. Hope you're having a wonderful time and have a safe trip home. :santa:

Another question...how are you dressing? I see it's 66*/44* during my stay with only a 10% chance of rain so far. I can't remember what that feels like as it's been 12* with winds here in Ohio. I tend to run a little warm. Will jeans, t-shirt and a sweatshirt be enough? Or will I need my Donald Duck denim coat too?

This might help, it shows which buildings have certain rooms:

We love Hojo's and always stay there. I agree with Eeee-va that the walk is about 8 minutes. DD8 walks it with no problem and has for years. DD2 walks in the morning and gets carried home at night.

Looks like I'll be in a tower building, probably #2 as I'm suppose to have a view of the highway. Thanks for the link. I was at that page one time during all my planning, but it got lost.

Thanks!

We just stayed at the HoJo and the only day I felt like taking a taxi was the day I was trying to carry my 5 year old back. He is a pretty big guy and I had pushed myself pretty hard all day. I didn't think the walk was bad other than that day. I would say for us it was about an 8 minute walk.

We also walked on the Disneyland side of the street so I didn't feel much hotel envy because we never could see the other hotels that we were passing.

The beds were really great. I couldn't have been more pleased.

*Are the standard KING rooms in a certain building?
You could end up in Building 1 which also has a view of the I-5. All the standard King rooms have a vew of the freeway.

*How long does it really take to walk to DLR?
It takes on average about 8-10 minutes depending on how fast you walk and how tired you are.

*Did you ever, after a whole day at the parks, feel like riding the bus back to HoJo?
Yes and we're in pretty good shape physically. I do kickboxing, work out 6 days a week, my DS is a blackbelt martial arts guy, etc. Anyway, my whole family really appreciated the extra 5 minutes we saved in walking time by staying at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. It looks like it's right across the street from Hojos, but it really makes a difference when it's a long street and at the end of the day on a multi-day trip. We'd stay at either place again.

ETA: Whoops, I just saw that you are staying at Hojos next week. Have fun and enjoy.

It was about 10 minutes from the gates to our door, at the END of the day, after our feet were exhausted and we spent 12.5 hours in the parks (almost all of that time while it was raining).

As for clothes, I'm from Arizona so I get cold easily. :) But our temperatures are very much like the ones you'll be having. In the rain, I have been wearing a wool coat from a thrift store with short sleeves and been fine. If there's no wind and you are used to cool temperatures (and there's no rain), you'll probably be OK with a sweatshirt. Otherwise, I'd bring the denim shirt or maybe even more. For Fantasmic on Wednesday night I needed my trenchcoat (not wool) and a sweatshirt both.

The first couple days it got really warm in the sun, and we had to get lockers--the mornings being chilly, the afternoons in the 60s feeling so hot that *I* wore short sleeves and pants, and the nights being cold again. The last couple days it has been raining/rainy and overcast, so it's been cool enough for me to wear my coat all day.

If it DOES rain, something more water-resistant than a sweatshirt would probably be helpful.

This is just a general hotel answer...but I have long hair and find that hotel shampoo & conditioners rarely work well for my hair... If you hit Target (or any supermarket chain really) they'll have the travel size shampoo conditioners for $.99 each. They have some that are Pantene and Herbal Essenses. A lot better for my hair and fit nicely in the 3-1-1 for going through security :)

Stayed at HoJo a couple of weeks ago with DW and DGD6. The walk was fine -- about 8 minutes, as stated. Never a problem. That said, there were 2 nights that I hoofed it back alone, picked up the car, and picked up the two of them at the bus stop at the Harbor entrance to DL. Once because DW's knee was acting up (she banged it up just before leaving for the trip), and once because we were driving to a restaurant anyway. So if you have a car parked at HoJo, that's always an option.

Little Ho Jo Questions, is that the sister hotel of the big Ho Jo's? (Sorry, could not help myself!) ;) :) Or maybe it is like Little Joe?

Ha ha, :lmao: :goodvibes

OP, I have never felt like taking the ART back at the end of the evening... from what I have heard, Hojo's is the last stop on the run usually, and it would take far too long IMO when you can easily walk it. Honestly though, I never felt the need to not walk back to the Hojo's (and I don't walk daily and am not very fit, lol.) For our family, it's an easy 7-8 minutes tops, to walk back. We like stopping at McD's anyway on the way back for a late night snack.:)

The shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles is awesome! It smells exactly like orange creamsicles! Nice, soothing, comforting scent.

Yes, there is a blowdryer and it works great.

Someone else answered your questions about the King beds.
