Little bump in the Zurgs path but all is cool.

Zurg & wife--

Reading this from you brings to mine one of the more ... profitablepirate: ... stupid :( ... things I did with my used ones...

OH Joe. BTW I think the needles we will be toting around everywhere will be an asset in the next round of trip reports. I forsee may oppertunities for making a protaganist out of those who have an issue with them.

I would cut off the needle parts of the syringes (toenail clippers work really well!) and sell them in my junior high school for a quarter. And if I was careful, I could make 90 degree shooters and sold those for $0.50. I was able to do this for about a week before I got caught, and cleared about $75. But, I sure had to face the wrath of MOM (which was worse than the 2 weeks of detention I had and the part where I had to apologize to everyone over the loudspeakers at school)

ROFLOL (Well not the two weeks and mom stuff.)

That is just great. I gotta make a 90 degree shooter.

Connor came home Friday. He made a build a bear beagle on the way home that asks if he has checked his sugar levels. (Also made a bear for my dad who was in the hospital for heart issues, he is much better too thanks but the family has had its fill of hospitals.)

Before we left he gave his nurse a BadShoe pin cause she was she was cool. Cute too see http://badshoe.com/melissachop.htm

Connor's beagle is on the bottom of the page and if you click the picture it downloads the sound it makes.

He is doing good. First day back at school, 4th grade. I went in at noon to make sure he was cool with doing the blood test in the class room, all the kids were crowding around but Connor's teacher was on the case and made everyone sit down.

After Connor was done I stood in front of the class and tested mine and showed them all the parts of the meter and lance for poking a hole in your skin and stuff in his test kit. Answered questions etc.

Blair's (DS 11) teacher, Cara Dibb, (5th grade) who is also type I diabetic, came in at the end of the day and gave a talk to Connor's class about it. Q & A Very nice job. She is in the running for teacher of the year IMHO. Does a great job of blending special issues into the main stream.

Back to crazy life around here.

Sleep would be good.

So would Alcohol.

or Xanax.

psss..I know a guy. ;)

That beagle is the cutest thing!

If I ever find Scruffy, I'll let you know.

I'm glad Connor is doing better, was he happy to go back to school?

And the nurse is very cute.;)

Stupid question for Zurg or anyone else in the Philly area –

Didn't that marble roll thingy in the lobby of CHOP (go to Zurg's link above for a picture) use to be in the Franklin Museum? Or is it a duplicate of the one in the museum? It's driving me nuts for some strange reason!

Zurg – Glad to hear Connor is doing swell. The Beagle he made is adorable – now you need to get him a real one! Want to borrow mine for a while?

Can't wait to hear how your trip goes!

OH!!! LT...we have one beagle and are planning on a second for christmas....Zurg would say we have 2 to many beagles...:D :D :D

Not a real long ride to drive you nuts there is it? ;)

I think it is another one of the same type thing. It has been a while since I have been to the Franklin Institute. ZW grew up near DC and anthing other than the Smithsonian doesn't cut it.

CHOP has two of them with a car thing on top with cars rolling all over the place, donated by the car dealer's association.

I wonder if the marble roll thing is made by the same guy who did the one at Mouseworks (Mousegear?, the big shop near Mission Space) in Epcot. We saw the artist at an arts festival this year. His stuff looked so familiar, we finally asked him if he had ever done one at WDW. He said yes, he had done that one. He was very surprised it was still there. It was a "temporary" installation he had done years ago. He was the nicest guy...wish I could find his card and tell you his name. He was originally a potter and made these things only for his kids. His wife encouraged him to make a few more and take them to festivals. He now supports himself and family with them and hasn't made a pot in years.
