Poohdent told me about this thread. Thought I'd reply to you as I can sympathize with you. I was SoCaTinkFan for a few months. Then one day I go to log on and VMK tells me I have to change my name. The only thought to why was because of the SoCa part. So I tried SweetLilTink thinking there should be nothing wrong with that. Several weeks go by with me as guest, people not knowing who I am, and then one day I go to log in again and VMK tells me that name was denied. So...after nearly a month as guest I am finally CallMeFlower.
I understand for safety reasons not allowing someone to have a specific location in their name. But here's my beef...why let us go for months, become attached to our names (yes, I was crushed to lose my name) only to be told we have to change. Heck, I didn't even recognize myself. Second, how is someone going to find me in SoCa? Ummm, how many MILLIONS of people live in SoCa?
And HOW are they going to find me? The land area of SoCa is larger than half the states in the Union. Oh, and a funny, I had someone tell me they were sorry I lost my name and that they agreed, South Carolina was too big to find me in. Ok, SoCa is the place where DLR is.
Sorry, I ended up talking about me. Thought I was over it, guess not. I'm truly sorry. I don't want you to feel singled out. This really is too bad.
